We are from Austin, Texas and celebrated Christmas and our 25th Wedding Anniversary while on board. I always enjoy when fellow cruisers give positive and negative info so here you go:
EMBARKATION: positives: Port Canaveral had smooth running lines and was very organized considering there were 4000 passengers. The whole process only took about 45 from start to finish. They passed out numbered ...
This was our 5th cruise; 2nd one on Carnival. Boy, what a disappointment to find that while making the ship larger, they kept the Encore room and many other rooms the same size as the Conquest. The Conquest was our last cruise and we loved every minute. We loved Todd and how active and involved he was. Not this time though. He was seen a few times a day, as was his assistant. Entertainment was ...
Embarkation went pretty smoothly. We didn't have to wait too long in lines, but we arrived early and have found this helps.
We booked a balcony room and it was more spacious than rooms we have had previously with just a window. We put away our belongings. Later that day we thought we might have some noisy neighbors as we heard loud music playing. It went on and on... and at one point we took a ...
We just sailed the Glory from 10/9-10/17/09. This was our 3rd cruise and quite possibly the last with Carnival. Unfortunately, I don't have very many positive things to say. We embarked in Port Canaveral and that did go fairly well, almost. In all the excitement of checking in and getting our Sail & Sign Card, we failed to notice that the 2 other family members we were traveling with had been ...
My wife and I celebrated our 10th anniversary on the Carnival Glory. This was our first time on Carnival; we have previously sailed on the Disney Magic (three times for the 3 day cruise), HAL Veendam, NCL Spirit (Alaska), NCL Pearl, NCL Sky (3 day), RCCL Mariner of the Seas, and the Caribbean Princess.
Our house is 65 miles from the port. We arrived at Port Canaveral just after noon, and ...
I've never been one to complain about trivial things in life, especially when there is sun, eye candy, and cold beer involved. But my trip on the Glory has changed all of that. My fiance and I decided to book our second cruise on the Glory after a wonderful experience on the Carnival Inspiration in May, 2008. We also took my parents along whom my fiance adores and I was happy because it was an ...
Launched in 2005, Liberty is the essence of a big, modern crusier. Despite its 100,000 tons of bulk, it has beautiful lines. Although not pleasing too all tastes, the somewhat gaudy interior is nothing if not interesting. Carnival has done a good job of maintaining, so the vessel is like-new. What is generally believed about mega-cruisers thinly spread service and inconsistent food was not true ...
THE GOOD: We arrived at the port around 11, found it very easy to drop off our bags, park and get ourselves in the waiting area. We did have to wait about 2 hours before we were allowed on board. No complaints, be sure to bring a book or something to do.
The food overall was good, not a good variety (see the ugly). We enjoyed room service several times during the week for both lunch and ...
I have been a member on CC for a few years. When I prepare for a cruise I really try to learn from other members points and ideas. I have been watching the Ecstasy reviews for sometime. I did notice that a lot of the reviews were negative and I went on the this trip with a open mind and was ready to have a great time. I have done both Carnival and RCCL for past cruises. All cruises were great and ...
We chose this cruise because the port was within driving distance to where we live. My daughter-in-law's parents are in their eighties. One is in a wheelchair because he has had a leg amputated and he is diabetic but in otherwise good health. His wife is on continuous oxygen due to a lung disease.
The trip to Baltimore was unremarkable and the boarding process was okay. We all had balcony rooms ...
