This was a cruise with my elderly mother, teen daughter, and her friend. I've been on about 12 cruises including NCL, HAL, Carnival, RC, and Celebrity. Embarkation was great, we walked on around 11:00 almost without stopping. Thanks Carnival! Our inside room for three on U122 was fine. Smallish but no major issues. Everything was clean and in good working order. Food overall was just OK, definitely not up to our recent cruises on HAL and Celebrity. Lido buffet was below average, Guys burger joint was great, deli was a nice option. Main dining room food was hit or miss. Some choices were very good, like the tomato soup and prime rib. Custom steaks were all overcooked. Calamari was luke warm. Food choices were plain, nothing fancy like I enjoy on a cruise. Food service was mixed. We had to wait 40 minutes for a table on the elegant night. Once seated, we waited 10 minutes for water, another 5 for menus, another 3 for bread, another 5 for bread plates, and so on. We arrived at the dining room at 7:40 planning to make the 9:30 show but we did not make it. MDR was unprepared for the crowd that night - indicating poor dining room management. Service in the room also below average. They made up our room just once a day. Cheerios spilled on day 3 were not cleaned from ujnder the bed when we left on day 5. Music was good which included a six piece band, guitar soloist, and duo. I did not see the shows but our teens (who like Broadway) enjoyed them. Pool deck was fun as always - the highlight of our Carnival cruise. All in all - it was fine for what it was. A four day getaway while the kids were on fall break. the trip started out badly when we got a notification that our credit card was hit for $200 by Carnival before we even left on the trip. What! Called and told this was 'normal'. Requested a handicap cabin for spouse, It was a standard cabin with a normal shower stall but had a pull down seat. Had to take handles off scooter to get thru door. A foot high step to get into bathroom and a step (normally a ramp) to access balcony. Had to get a chair removed so we could even move in cabin with scooter in cabin. You'll love this one. the cabin safe require a credit card or drivers license to open/close. No, they didn't charge for use, but if we used my license and wife wanted in safe and I'm out on the ship somewhere, she would have to hunt me down to open safe. Instead of using the cabin key (used for everything else, rigtht?). Oh, and lockers in the gym were keypad, 4 digit open/close. DUH@ New rule: ship can't leave until all CPAP users verify they have them in their possession. They called the cabin 7 times asking if we had the CPAP. Each time the answer was the same, haven't received luggage yet we'll call you when it arrives. Oh,, and be prepared to pay for the needed distilled water. Good luck for lunch. The Lido buffet is not open for lunch. Also, stops serving dinner at 9:30 PM So no cookies/desserts post show time. Grab em early and put in room. Grand Cayman is a tender port which is usually no issue, especially if you have a carnival booked excursion. Wrong. We were on our own to catch a tender in time to meet our excursion on the dock. Crazy! Okay, good stuff. booked excursions at all three ports and everyone of them was wonderful. The dining room experience for dinner was very good. Never had to wait for a table using anytime dining. Service was excellent. variety of food was exceptional, Quality of food was good. Cabin service was excellent. However, the one time we ordered breakfast, it arrived an hour early. Somewhat inconvenient, but better than an hour late. Read Less

I took a holiday with my family to Las Vegas and decided that, whilst in the US, we would take the opportunity to see Mexico on a cruise. We booked the 7-day Mexica\n Riviera cruise on the Carnival Splendor. My daughter is in a wheelchair and we booked one of the very few fully accaessible cabins on the ship - a Spa cabin (oceanview). It was not in the best location though - right at the front and near the top of the ship. Embarkation was relatively smooth although the facilities to get into and out of the cruise terminal to drop off and pick up were a bit chaotic. The ship, which was originally ordered/built for Costa but delivered to Carnival is very much like the Costa ships - full of vibrant colours. Food quality was generally good, but the experience in the restaurant was mixed, as was the buffet. Carnival only put tablecloths on the tables in the main restaurants on the 2 'formal' nights. On other nights the tables were much like those in the buffet. Service could sometimes be very slow, especially at breakfast. There was no dress code at all in the restaurant and although a few dressed up for dinner, most didn't bother with some coming to dinner in the shorts and t=shirts they had worn during the day. Entertainment was generally quite good, although the volume in the Atrium was sometimes deafening. The musicians though were mostly very good, especially the string quartet. Disembarkation was problem-free although again the picj-up drop-off in the terminal was chaotic and we had problems locating our taxi. The excursions in two of the three ports visited were well organised and informative, The last excursion in Puerto Vallarta missed a couple of stops out and, although supposedly being an adapted vehicle, did not have proper restraints and the two wheelchairs on the excursion could barely fit in. The experience in all three ports visited was very good, with friendly local people. Read Less

We got this cruise 2 days before it left and got the last room on the ship. We got #7335 which is listed as a handicap room and it is. The doors are on the side and both doors are 36" wide and the bathroom is very large. I didn't bring my mobility scooter because we were not sure the size of the room doors. There was enough room inside to put the scooter and access to a charging port. The crew is very helpful but I do not believe there are enough on the boat. It was like finding a salesperson in Lowes. We had many guests that were very rude and loud in the halls at all hours and no one helped. The battery in our door lock failed and it took 25 minutes to get someone there to replace it. Guy's Burger Bar is a new addition and they were very good burgers and fries. The pizza was not real tasty. The dining room food was good but in very small portions. We had 5 small shrimp in our appetizer the first two nights, and the last night we had larger shrimp, but only 3. The day in Bahamas was not great. Rain, the port walkways did not drain and were flooded, the tour bus was really small and cramped for me. The day at the private island was washed out by noon because of a major rain storm and everyone got soaked coming back to the ship. We enjoyed ourselves because we do not rely on any else entertaining us. We did our thing and the trip overall was good. Read Less

The Good • Room Steward service was actually very good. He asked us up front if wanted our rooms serviced once or twice per day. That was the first time I had ever been asked that question. With three people in our smallish balcony room we requested twice a day. Both ice and towels were replenished every day. • Bar service was also very good. We got the Cheers package, and certainly didn’t break even this time. Carnival has a decent cocktail menu that is worth exploring. The crowds on the ship sometimes made getting up to the bartenders a challenge. You just have to horn in and raise your voice a little. The Lobby Bar and Casino Bar stood out for us. • Main Dining Room service and food quality were certainly decent to very good. I was a little disappointed that the traditional surf and turf on the more formal night has been completely replaced by the upcharge menu. This is a noticeable cut to us veteran cruisers. You can get a hanger steak and some sort of seafood any night on the menu, but it is not quite the same thing. Expected more from formal night menu. • Both Embarkation and Debarkation were painless. Since we didn’t have a car, and we checked our bags with the stevedore downstairs, it almost seemed like a walk on and walk off situation. Using the express option, we showed our Passport, got in a cab, and left for the airport. Limiting luggage to a roller board and a personal bag helps tremendously. • Scarlett’s Restaurant was as good as any premium dining experience I have had on Holland America or Royal Caribbean. Steaks were expertly prepared. Art for the Table desert has to be experienced to really fully grasp. Delicious and entertaining. Service was 5*. Sadly, the restaurant never seemed fully booked on the whole cruise. • For the first time in 15 cruises, I actually had to use the Ship Hospital when I developed a case of pneumonia. The very kind female physician from South Africa could not have been better. Steroids, nebulizers, and antibiotics were ordered exactly as they would have been at home by a good family physician. She made a point to call and check on me after one very rough breathless night in a hot room. The Bad • The ship was crowded. With 3,700+ passengers on board, the 800 people above typical double occupancy could be felt all over the ship. Lots of lines for just about everything including the elevators. Mid-ship pool was a mob scene that I totally avoided. Carnival just does not do as great a job as RCI at dispersing the crowds with activities of equal draw in different parts of the ship simultaneously. • The Lido Buffet for breakfast was absolutely the same every day. On Day One, I was satisfied that it was the quality of a decent cafeteria. If you are going to eat here every day mix it up with the omelet station or eggs cooked to order. They are almost hidden along the side walls as you approach the buffet. This buffet pales in comparison to any one of Holland America’s. Sometime you just long for a pastry and a bowl of Muesli - not the strange pale sausage covered in onions, reconstituted eggs, and frozen hash brown patties. No problem finding corn flakes and fruit loops if that is more your speed. • Some of our party were smokers, and this meant that we all spent a good deal of time in the smoking areas. Tucked away on an obscure portion of the starboard side of deck 10, Cocktail service was really very sparse in the largest smoking area, and a simple trip to the bathroom requires a trip to another deck. Though clean, public bathrooms seemed fairly scarce overall. Another more agreeable choice is a small area on deck 3 starboard exterior deck – at least it was convenient to the Lobby Bar. Non-smokers would have to go out of their way to be offended here. Lastly, 4-5 bar stools jammed into the casino end of the Dream Bar is the only interior choice for smokers. I guess this is good news overall for non-smokers, but don’t complain when smokers are five deep behind five bar stools in the casino. • Though I did not think the ship was in bad shape at all, the overall design was not my favorite. Decks 3 and 4 present you with the “You can’t’ get there from here” dilemma if you dine in the Washington Dining Room. Back up to deck five to cross over. You will repeat this maneuver many times. • The muster drill was a bit of a mob scene. Cruise Director, Kevin’s very acerbic voice booming over the loudspeakers did not help lower the temperament or the temperature. It certainly wasn’t a great introduction or welcome being jammed onto another obscure exterior deck on level four that I never saw again. The Ugly • Our room was way too WARM. Any sailing out of New Orleans in August will come with heat, but did not expect this in my stateroom. It was reported twice and we received four pre-printed cards that stated that our room met Carnival standards for temperature control. I witnessed one of these inspections. Indeed, the vent was 72 degrees. The only problem was that it did not blow sufficient air into the room. The two letters received from guest services stating that it was important that we call them immediately to make sure our issues with our room temperature were resolved - not helpful. These phone calls just resulted in two more pre-printed cards. It just pissed me off even more when I was told that fans were reserved for those with medical problems. Alas, out of the blue, they did provide a fan. It did help a great deal, but the room was still very hot for a person who is sitting on the side of the bed all night long with a full-blown case of pneumonia. Having never experienced this myself, I have a new respect for my patients who suffer for respiratory problems. • Others reported that their room was a bit cold. Avoid the whole block of rooms that include stateroom 7396 back toward mid-ship if you don’t want a hot room. Many of our neighbors said the same thing. Too warm, but I am sure it meets Carnival’s standards for climate control. Would I do it Again? Nope. Not this time, and that is a first time ever saying that in 15 cruise reviews from RCI’s old Song of Norway to Cunard’s QM2. This ship did not meet my personal standards for comfort. There are many varieties of “Fun”, and I am not swearing off Carnival as a whole, but I am the entire crowded Conquest class of their ships. DONE! I will also stick to longer cruises outside of summer or any other holidays, as I am more compatible with that Journey’s crowd and I am not even a senior yet. There are things that really shined about this ship, but I am afraid that the bad and the ugly outweighed the good on this trip. One last note. The Shore Excursion to Uxmal is worth every penny. This is a world class heritage site that would definitely use Carnival to tour. Progresso is a great stop if you don't go to Progresso. Too logistical to do on your own, but they do a great job for less money. Read Less

Elevator system on the Horizon was HORRIABLE. We took the stairs most of our cruise. They also need to have a separate elevator for the handicap and scooters. my mother had to spend most of her time in the room because of the lack of working elevators on the ship.Our stateroom was only cleaned once day after asking for twice a day am/pm. Food was not that great. Mike the cruise director was excellent he made the ship experience a little better. Also they need to start breakfast at 6am instead of 7:30 some folks get up early. Guest services employees need to be a little more friendly to there guest and not have attitudes. I have cruised on Carnival several times this was the worst. I do plan on crusing again on carnival to give them another chance and if no improvement I will be going on another ship.. Read Less

Ok we just got off the Carnival Liberty on their four day Bahamas adventure from Port Canaveral. 1. We got a Captain's Suite 9199. Nice cabin, best views of any cabin anywhere. But, if you want a view from the balcony, you will have to stand up. Had a tough time getting our steward. Yet, he was very nice. The only perks you get is getting on the boat. You can come earlier than your posted time. Starting at 10:30am. (Don't call Carnival. Their staff just looks at a computer FAQ base that you can access. They could help with nothing else.) No other perks but two water bottles. Oh, and we had to complain because of the sewage smell coming from the front bathroom. I really thought these reviews I read before couldn't be true, but they are. 2. Teen Club O2 total loser. We had three teen boys and the activities were like, "Choose your own.....this or that." So lame hardly anyone showed up on Memorial Weekend. 15 was max for Manhunt. Plus, they were closed......alot. 3. Someone please update the Fun Times online so people can get a glimpse of what a daily schedule is? Plus, is there a white party or a red and blue party? What? Make up your minds and let people know before they board. Put some things in the APP before you get on board. In your online check-in. Give us info please. 4. The comedy shows were fantastic. 5. Flick, the cast was impressive but the writer/producer sucks. As a writer/director, my job is to tell a story. What the heck was this story about? The song selections were OK but your transitions were unintelligible. Director, why choose songs that your cast have a hard time reaching the top notes? Several top notes just not there. Lighting great. Sound OK. Circular fan use for James Bond: Genius. Second fan use for wings: poor. Video projection use excellent. The guy at beginning with hat? The solo dancer guy? What is he trying to learn or find? Choreography fine except when adding the protagonist to the mix. Everyone one in our party enjoyed it but had no idea what it was about. About movies: Pure Imagination from Willy Wonka then to the next song, just weird. Horrible transition. The medley of science fiction was well done. Short thematic bursts, knowable movies and their songs. There are hundreds of more iconic movie themes. Two Whitney Houston songs from the Guardian? Really? That was just to show off the cast member. You choose music that propels the story, tell the story through all mediums available, then make sure song and cast meld, and you've got a great show. This could have been a highlight not a head scratcher. 6. America Rocks: Maybe, for an international cruise, rock and roll might have been a better theme (Then you could have used Elton John or Queen). Again, songs outside the range of the cast. Cast did well in spite of the producer. 7. FOOD. Breakfast: stick to the omlette station. Real eggs vs powdered. Stick with room service for the morning. Except our second room service: muffins hard, bread hard, apple juice mix waaaay off, and got the order wrong. Lunch: Terrible selections and taste for the Lido Buffet. Mongolian Bar good. Chocolate buffet great. The chocolate cake on Lido buffet as good as any dessert anywhere. Fruit boring mix of melons, I'll take the Norwegian Hawaiian cruise any day for the fruit. Here is the review of other options: Guy's Burgers-best thing on boat, Ol Fashioned BBQ aft deck 10, hard to find and get to, not really ol fashioned we have ten places better in our city. Did not eat Mexican. Deli is good (not the fries, stick with Guy's fries). Pizza was packed after shows because everyone wanted something but did not want to pay for room service. Always a long line. Dinner: We had the 6 o'clock dinner at the Silver Olympian Restaurant. Had to ask our waitstaff for almost everything. I had soda package and I had to request every time. Wife had hot tea, had to wave down and ask each time. Our boys had lemonade, they came to fill that fairly early. Big pet peeve: Guys are busy, but they should stop when you are talking to them. I had two requests and after I got the first request out all I saw was their backs. Stop, look, listen until customer is finished talking. I don't care how fast you are trying to get the first crowd finished to get the second crowd in. Otherwise, great service. Great desserts. Steaks tough generally. Italian, keep out the peppers and onions which flavored whole meal. Rattatoie: don't get. If you expect it like the movie, nope big chunks of green pepper, onion and tomato. 8. Room Service. NOT FREE after 10pm. Beware. Their free selection is pitiful too. Disney Cruise has free 24 hours and it has pizza, burgers, chicken fingers, sandwiches, ice cream bars, much better than Carnival. Their events are designed to be late to make sure you would not make it back to your cabin before 10pm. 9. Stops: Nassau is always good. Princess Cay is fine, but the snorkels sold out before we got there. Really? A chance to make money and they run out? They burnt their food so we came back for Guy's burgers at lunch. 10. Money. Carnival takes the opportunity to separate you from your money while on the cruise. Everything costs extra. Better steaks and items extra $20 at dinner. Anything they carry costs extra. Free drawings, got to go through auction first. The cost for evening room service, ridiculous. Money to get on board early. We were either presented with opportunities or commercials to spend more money constantly. Not quite as bad as a time share promotion. Spa, went on Day of Nassau,. Since pretty much everything was closed until noon, I thought I would get a massage. The online pre-rates were $103 to $126. They had openings but were $176??? I read a review about sales during excursion days. NOT TRUE. I asked about the lower rates, they said they were pre-cruise only. Nope, I turned around. 11. Accessibility. Great on the ship. Only one ramp unbreachable was the ramp into the boat itself. My electric scooter got caught going in and out. Plus, they do look out for you if you are a wheelchair party. Thank you staff. 12. Activities: Youth club terrible, even though it got high ratings from others. Trivia was fun. Enjoyed Hasbro's Trivial Pursuit, otherwise not a ton to do, especially for families. They only showed two movies a day outside. Could have been continuous. Cookie was the best cruise director ever. He deserves the promotion he is getting. 13. Layout. The Liberty is confusing. Decks 3-4 cannot be gone through since the Gold dining room takes up the middle of the decks. The only way from front of ship to back of ship is to go to the far elevators on other end on ship then go down. Main pool deck too small for all on board to gather for party. Can we say, Get a Theme. Gaudy and no consistency describes the decor of the Liberty. Especially the Theater. MOST of these items are minor and may not dissuade you from Carnival. If you want the best food: Disney You want the best shows: Disney. Best youth Club: Royal Caribbean. Coolest excursions: Norwegian. Best Dinner Staff: Disney. Best Suite perks: Norwegian. Sorry, but Carnival is not on the list. Read Less

we wanted to go on a cruise for our 16th wedding anniversay and to get away for a few days from our kids and just relax embarkation was a breeze as was disembakation got on ship before noon and our room was ready we were on deck 11 which we liked because we are smokers and didn't have to go far dinner in the main dining room the first night was not very good we had a very nice waiter but the problem was we had to have them take the food back 4 times because it was tought or not well cooked second nite in the main dining room was a little better it was a seaday where you dressed up plus we celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary the shows were more geared to people in the 20's and 30's on sea day we spent most of our time on the smoking deck and met a lot of nice people the bad part there were a lot of very young kids and they seem to run all around the only excursion we went on was an island tour at turks which was very enjoyable the only thing that we disliked was no wheel chair available to take you to the end of the pier i asked for one and they said they didn't have one on the way back to the ship we were walking when my husband who had his walker had problems walking and so did i so someone that was from the other ship in port called for a wheelchair for my husband and they brought on it had to be 100 degrees out we are from florida so we should have been used to the heat but we weren't in amber cove i got off the ship to fo shopping and they had the best idea when i got off the ship there was a rickshaw with a guy riding a bicycle and i paid the guy 6 dollarseach way to take me to the end of the pier Read Less

We departed from Jacksonville, FL and went to Nassau and Freeport. We left Thursday afternoon and returned early Monday morning. My friend and I are both wheelchair users. In order to help preserve the health of my shoulders, I rented a motorized scooter and left my chair in the room as I used the scooter to get around on the ship and for land excursions. The wheelchair accessible room we had was SO small. It clearly didn't start off as a w/c accessible room but rather it was updated to be up to ADA code at some point. Both of our wheelchairs and scooter didn't fit in the room so my wheelchair had to spend the entire time on the balcony. Not exactly the end of the world but it was an inconvenience and a surprise that an ADA room was not big enough to accommodate 3 mobility devices. If my wheelchair wasn't taking up room on the balcony and I was able to get out in the balcony it would have been impossible because like I mentioned, it used to be a regular room. The original layout had about a 1-2 inch lip leading out to the balcony which they "fixed" by affixing a piece of plywood to create a "ramp". It was the same deal with the bathroom. Completely unsafe and difficult to navigate. Regarding the bathroom, the toilet was VERY low which is a safety hazard for someone who is paralyzed. There is a reason why wheelchair accessible toilets are up so high. The beds were another issue. We literally SUNK into the bed. It was like being in a waterbed. It was difficult to roll over and even to sit up from laying down and neither issue was due to our disabilities. One other thing was the location of the thermostat for temperature control in the room. It thermostat was ON THE CEILING. In a WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE ROOM. What were we supposed to do? Fly to the thermostat? Our room was freezing so we call guest services and they said they'd be right up. So we waited a while as we realize we're not the only disabled passengers on the ship. When a half hour passed by they were like "OMG we are so sorry. We'll be right there." Well, "we'll be right there" was another half hour. VERY poor planning on Carnivals part on placing the thermostat on the ceiling Carnival REALLY needs to up their game when it comes to making their staterooms wheelchair accessible like their website says. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. Our room was U224 just to warn you. As far as the rest of the cruise it was fine. Super friendly people and wonderful employees. Our waiting staff in the dining room were awesome and always provided a fun dinner. Read Less

Embarkation went well, ship looks spectacular from the outside, and owing to it advertising it had had a recent refurb, our expectations were high. Assisted boarding was easy and pleasant. Cabin 8218 was lovely apart from the fact you need 2 arms to open the door and also the door leading to balcony. My bed was very uncomfortable, pillows were good. Bathroom was well set out and the shower great. As we're our cabin staff. Disappointed in the lack of amenities for disabled passengers. The only electric operated doors I found was on deck 2. And then you had to hobble back to the door to lock. We saw many people at least in the over 70's age bracket. No grab rail in the bathroom, doors extremely heavy to open, grab rail in most toilets around the ship, low chairs everywhere. We spoke to senior passengers who had fallen, in their bathroom, in lounges, allegedly slipping on something. The decor was oppressive. So glitzy and dark, obviously dated. Maybe the refurb was eluding to the near new carpets in some areas. Entertainment was generally of a good standard. It was pleading to see that they had meet up groups for differing categories of people, including people from LGBTIQ groups. Good to know. I could not comment on the shore excursions but I can say I was very disappointed with the use of tender boats on Moorea. If we had been able to stay one more day in port at Papeete people with a disability could easily have used the ferry from Papeete. That would have been awesome. The distance between islands is miniscule! On the last 5 days at sea we were advised that sav blanc was running out and passengers had to now buy by the bottle and carry that around with you. When lodging a complaint with Guest Services we were informed there was no complaints forms. We would receive a survey to fill in and complain there. Over these last 5 days we also found out they had run out of red wine, apple cider and coke zero. Crazy! On board purchases were hugely expensive. 5 photos cost over $100, WiFi social media only, 208, if you wanted unlimited it was another 100 plus! If you wanted higher speeds it was another 200. We heard from entertainers they paid 5! Service was hit and miss with the dining experience the worst. We had dine at anytime allocated to us, deck 3, Truffles Restaurant. There were long lines to wait in, then you were given a pager and waited a minimum of 30 mins, then allocated a table, waited a further 20 mins to be served. Food was generally nice, but not hot. Often no drinks were offered so they lost money there. Yes all drinks except ordinary tea, cost you! Drinks packages were very expensive, except for bottomless bubbles, which was out of a tap, never a can. Laundries were on most floors but all machines except x1 were out of order. Laundering of clothes through the ship was well priced at around $25 per bag. The buffet dining, generally was OK. Many of the staff were not efficient however, instead ignoring customers and chatting among themselves behind the baine Marie's. Food generally was hot. Similar to washing machines, there were many breakdowns causing very long lines at tea and coffee machines. Toast was not ready, and then there was no butter. If there was butter there was no little jars to put it in! Wait wait wait, making the lines longer. Fine dining at their Nouveau Restaurant was fantastic and I can highly recommend, as was the high tea we attended. Beautiful. Any business in this day and age, who does not want customers feedback, in my mind, says they disrespect and discount legitimate concerns. Surely any business wants to know and respond to concerns. Not so Carnival Legend apparently. That is really sad. The running out of sakes of wine by the glass is a good case in point. If it was that popular they would know that opening a bottle and selling by the glass, would recoup more money for their trouble and satisfy customers. Crazy stuff. I for one will never sail with Carnival again. Sick of the lines, sick of warm dinners, sick of tea obviously made from water from a hot water service rather than heated cold water - tasted terrible. And no quality system in place to handle complaints in this day and age is ludicrous. Lifts were speedy and reliable, tv service was OK, WiFi depended on access to satellite so if cloudy it was super slow, an outbreak of the cold hit the ship and first there were around 400 passengers affected, then 1000, then at least 1500. Many visited the ships doctor. Some contracted pneumonia, collapsed lung etc. It was an epidemic. I do not know what they were advised but it would have been ideal if they had all been advised to stay in their cabins! It spread like wildfire. I might add that one of our wait staff the second night dining in Truffles, had a heavy cold and was sniffing and coughing while serving dinner! Why isn't this sort of thing supervised? We chose this cruise because we wanted to take our 4 boys (10 to 17) and it was cheapest we found. The boys thought it was awesome, and for them it was, my wife and I not so much. But before I go further I do want to say that everyone was super nice and friendly. It was my first cruise and if it wasn’t for people I know that wouldn’t lie to me it would be my last. It was like staying in a musty ran down motel with excellent room service (if that makes sense), the king size bed was so uncomfortable that I was ready to take the frame out in the hall and lay the mattress on the floor. We paid for extra for an ocean view which landed us at the main back of the noisy ship but that was a WASTE because the window had not been cleaned in so long that you couldn’t be 100ft past the back of the ship. The food was ok the best was Guy Fieri burgers and the Blue Iguana was great. We ate lunch there and dined at ships restaurant it was ok fancy food cooked up and served with a smile but lacked variety and flavor I thought. And believe me I tried everything 6 people 4 being teenage boys can put some food away and I tried everything that we ordered. The entertainment was ok I enjoyed name that song, the live music at the bar and marriage game was halirious. Kevin wasss ssso over the top but he wassss funny I thought (If you know him you’ll get that). The shows were ok except for the Country Roads show it was terrible I thought. The ports were ok, Progreso that shops were in your face almost. Cozumel the boys swam with the nurse sharks and stingrays they had fun but they had never done anything like that but it’s was like a petting zoo in the ocean where you can touch it if your fast enough to corner it. I’ve found out that I just can’t afford to take 6 ppl on a cruise. I’ll find a resort, condo, time share or something else because the 5 days on the boat with the excursion was over 6K. My family and I went on a carnival cruise. (freedom) We didn't like the high pressure sales, the fact that how whenever you would buy a drink the tip would already be added on (I noticed on the 3rd day of the cruise), we had tons of money charged to my moms credit card. There was already a tip of 70 plus dollars for our "team" on the cruise. There was ONE person who made my experience on the Carnival Freedom amazing. She is a playlist performer on the carnival freedom and other carnival ships. Her name is Victoria and she always said "hey" and would wave at me whenever she would see me. If you go on the Carnival Freedom be aware it is a party ship. Not made for older couples or family with newborns. If you go on a cruise from Galveston be prepared for long waits and being split up from your family. My aunt is disabled and they split us up when getting on the ship. On the way back we made sure we didn't get split up. The only reason we didn't get split up on the way back was because my mom made sure they knew we would not be split up. We have sailed 10+times with Carnival. Through the years the attention to detail and the desire to make you feel special has gotten overlooked. Wait staff no where near as good, room stewards not as attentive, food not as good or repetitive. This particular shop is VERY difficult to navigate. My wife and I searched for an hour to find the movie theater which is an extra cost. Too many areas are extra. We are going to try a competitor to see the difference. Carnival needs to get back to focusing on the customer and not the bottom line. They tend to be getting more focused on making money than bringing the luxury and pampering to the consumer as they did in the beginning. I realize we have come to expect certain things but the fall off in quality is obvious. I went to a comedy show and remembered almost every line from the same comedian 2 years earlier. SAD Read Less

We choose the Vista, because it is a newer ship, and had great reviews. It was very pretty, and the LED light displays were amazing. We missed; however, the large central area. We had trouble getting our bearings on the ship because there was no central point to help us. The ship was very pretty, but not spectacular. Our cabin was lovely. We were in the spa area, so the colors were pleasing. Our cabin was spotless, and our room steward was the best we've ever had. His name was Yasa, and he was extremely efficient and courteous. We weren't looking for a lot of activities as we have cruised for years and we just enjoy going to sea. We did have some serious problems. We noticed that the hand sanitizers were not working most of the time. There was no one at the entrances to the eating establishments to see to it that all hands were sanitized. We were a party of 16, and when we got off the ship, Eight of our party either had the flu or strep infections. The floor in the Lido Cafe was slick when the humidity was high, which was most of the time. They either need to replace that tile or run matting down the surface. One of the biggest problems we encountered was the smoke from the smoking areas. They had one of the smoking areas right outside the children's play area. Our twins were taken there to play, but their parents took them away immediately because of the smoke. The smoking in the casino has gotten out of hand due to the Vaping people we're doing. It's time to stop the smoking in the casino. Celebrity doesn't allow smoking inside their casino, and it is just as active as the Carnival Casino. We probably will not go on the Vista again, because it is not really handicap accessible. We were on deck 11, and couldn't go to the stern from our hall, because there were two steps at the end of the hall. We had to go up and down many elevators to get from one end of the ship to the other. The spa area needed work. There were overhead lights out as well as some of the jets in the tubs weren't working. the entertainment was spectacular, but the lasers flashing everywhere were hard to deal with. The Liquid Lounge was too small for a ship that size, and having all the center seating on the same level on the main floor made it hard to see, especially if you were in a handicap area. there are no card areas with the exception of the Library which was doubling as the display area for purchased art. They were complaining that the art sales group didn't have a place for their business that was big enough. The designers of this ship missed the boat! The main saving grace for us was the wonderful crew. The workers were super. They also made it possible for our entire family to be together at a huge round table for our evening meals. That was so appreciated. To sum up our observations, we will go on Carnival again, but not Vista. Our Embarkation and disembarkation were perfect. Everything was extremely well organized. This was our first time back on Carnival in a couple of years. First the good. Vista is a nice big ship with lots of on board activities. The crew was really friendly, always smiling and went out of their way to be helpful. We had an aft balcony 9074. This is nice big cabin and the balcony is much bigger than standard and is fully covered unlike the aft balconies on the other decks. If you are subject to motion sickness this is where you want to be. We usually eat most our meals in the dining room. Be sure to download the Carnival app. You can request your anytime dining table without having to go to deck 5. The food was typical cruise food and was mostly good. A couple of times nothing jumped out to me so I got a flat iron steak and it was good. On some days they served brunch there. The steak and eggs were great. The dancing waiters at dinner were fun and invited everyone to dance with them. We didn't try any of the specialty restaurants. The lido was pretty good but anything that was especially good had a long line. The last time we were on the Glory there was a seafood shack that was part of the lido. On vista it is a charge per item place. Guy's barbque was good. I liked the soft serve frozen yogurt. The entertainment was typical Carnival which is good or bad depending on your taste. It's why we don't normally do Carnival cruises. If you are a young person that likes your music ear ringing loud and girls with very little clothes it's great. The pg comedy shows were very good. The others get fairly raw. We liked the outdoor movies. They have a counter to check out a blanket which was nice. Movies on demand in the room had a lot of good movies for free. Others were $4.95. There is music all over the ship. Mahogany Bay on Roatan is a nice alternative to a typical cruise port. You just get off the ship and walk to it. Lots of shopping and beach with lots of places to sit. Unlike every other private island we have visited none of the food was free. If you want to ride the skylift over it costs $13 per day. We got right on the ship because we didn't get there till 2:00. I am in a wheelchair and they took great care of us all over the ship. Getting off the ship we waited for a little while but were at our car by 10:00. You can see your pictures and check your bill on the tv or on your phone with the app. There was a $15 laundry charge on my bill which we did not do. They promised to take it off but never did. We used to sell cruises and have been on most of the lines and have lost count of the cruises we have been on. I don't remember hearing so many negative comments about a ship by frequent (mostly Carnival) cruisers. The fact that so many things cost extra and the long wait times for elevators and most anything worth doing seemed to be big. Also the lack of good shows to go to at night were universal. We used to live in Atlanta and had multiple ports to drive to but Galveston is limited to Carnival and Royal Caribbean. We will fly from now on instead of going on this ship. Read Less

Bought the ultimate WIFI package with horrible service due to need to do job searches and staying in touch with family! It took literally 3 days for one fb post to load on the ship. It did not matter if I was online at 3 am or 5 pm the WiFi was hideous. The 5.00 hub chat was broken!! I complained about my WiFi mid week my money was refunded and they neglected to tell me they were shutting it off!! In st. Kitts our exercusion was canceled with no notice, Also wheel chair assistance was horrible returning to the port I couldn’t even get my moms name on the list we ended up walking her out!!! We were told to put my moms name on the list with the guy that had the clipboard he stated one sec and was calling a few people to be taken out. I came back up to him and he was writing down people’s names that were coming in the door after we had!!! By then we had, had it. My mom has had a knee replacement in one knee and needs her other knee replaced. She can’t walk stairs or long distances. She had decided she was going to attempt to walk from boat to cruise terminal by then we were so mad. So debarkation was awful!! When we got in cruise terminal it was nice to gather luggage and not have to fill out a customs form and easy to get a porter. I followed close behind him and he was nice enough to wait for my mom to catch up Behind us to go through customs. When we got out he was kind enough for me to follow him and took is straight to the carnival bus to go to the airport. Over all we will never sail on the conquest again this was our second journey on it, and we will NEVER go out of ft Lauderdale’s port. We have used Orlando, New Orleans, and been out of California overall ft Lauderdale carnival port is horrible. Read Less

This was our third cruise, second time on Carnival. I was looking for a bigger ship. Although this was bigger than the Pride, it was not like our Royal cruise a few years ago. Biggest complaint, which I will put down as still learning cruising, was the excursions. One in Belize had to be canceled after we finally all got together, as we would not have had enough time to complete the trip before the ship sailed. We had scheduled the trip with Vacation2go. I did not realize that Carnival "Owned" the ports and only Carnival sponsored excursions were allowed in the port area. We had to walk through the port, take a taxi, get picked up by a van and taken to an assembly area to meet up with the rest of the group.We were on time but when we were all assembled the tour was running late. Our other issue was with dinning. I am now handicapped. Our room was 3 from the bow and our dinning was at the stern (literally). I did not take the electric scooter or have a wheel chair so the long walk really got to me. I am also per-diabetic and have issues eating too late. After working with the staff, we were moved to another dining room and earlier seating. We had requested to be seated with others, but ended up at a table for two. Pros: Medium size ship is relatively easy to navigate. Generally polite staff throughout the ship. Most guests on Carnival are friendly, unpretentious people. Cruise director was pleasant and efficient. Two of the four comedians were very entertaining. One of the movies that was offered was excellent. Fresh fruit was available on Lido for most meals. Several dishes at the Lido buffets and main dining room were prepared well and had excellent flavor. A few desserts were works of art. There are several nice displays of decorative crystal in the ship stairwells. Shipboard shops had a couple of nice sales and sales staff were quite approachable and helpful. Debarkation at the end of the cruise was smooth and uneventful, despite long lines. Luggage was well organized and easily located in the terminal. And terminal personnel were helpful in their directions. Cons: Embarkation delays and difficulties, especially for the handicapped, as there were not enough wheelchairs to meet needs. 2-3 chairs per ship is too few when each trip takes half an hour or more to board each person and there are several dozen people waiting and more arriving all the time. Most staterooms are not available to guests until early to mid afternoon on embarkation day, so guests must lug their carryon baggage with them everywhere they go until then. There was a bad shudder (shaking) to the ship throughout the cruise. Is something wrong with the engines? Not many good choices for dining, activities or entertainment. Very limited offerings on the Lido deck for dinner. No wait staff on hand there in the evenings, either, to offer beverages or other services. Food was generally mediocre, either spiced the same or very bland, portion sizes in the main dining room sometimes varied wildly from one plate to another, sauces and dressings were often too thick to pour or use as a dip, options for ordering and free beverages were never offered by main dining room staff. Choices for pizza, outdoor grill and deli were fixed and too limited. Outdoor grill food was often overcooked, cold, dried out and inedible. One of the two soft serve machines was not functional during the entire cruise, creating long lines. No juices are offered on Lido for breakfast, only sugary drinks. Juice is offered only in main dining room, but the main dining room breakfasts were not cooked properly. Long lines for dining and entertainment venues. Gaudy, visually jarring decor in many of the public areas such as the main dining rooms, bars. Tiny uncomfortable "library" had few books, felt like a wasted space. Very heavy glass doors to some public rooms, making them inaccessible to some disabled guests. Entertainment venues were too small for most shows/comedy performances. Serenity adult area at the stern of the ship was anything but serene — packed with people, chaotic and noisy. An assault on the senses. No anniversary celebration was offered despite it being listed on our dining room slip and general cruise documents. Very disappointing. Dining room service spotty, some tables were skipped for dessert, ignored for beverage refills, etc. Spa services refused to supply a price list -- prices for each service had to be "negotiated" separately. No prices were ever listed for "specials," either, only "$$ off." Choice of stateroom service (morning or evening) was ignored by stewards, leading to daily inconveniences. "Chocolate Extravaganza" was mostly cakes. Main dining room sometimes opened late due to poor scheduling of staff meetings, stressing staff as well as guests. Slow dining room service often meant guests would have to leave before dessert to make it to the other end of the ship early enough to find seating for scheduled entertainment. Popular entertainment was often scheduled in conflict with dinner and other one time entertainment so something had to be missed. Why not have some matinees? Several entertainment activities and presentations were too childish for most adults. Because of the location, relatively few guests could get a view of the ice carving demonstration. Some port tender boats were exceedingly slow and/or poorly maintained, making for uncomfortable rides and long waits to get ashore as well as to return to the ship. No tender ports had seating in the onshore waiting areas for those wanting to return to the ship. Drinking water for returning guests was provided at one tender port but was located beyond the security ropes out of reach of guests. The Western Caribbean itinerary is always the same out of Tampa, limiting its appeal. Much of the musical entertainment was mediocre to poor, amateurish. Too many cutbacks in recent years-- no bathrobes or bath amenities in staterooms, no birthday or anniversary celebrations, no sea day teas, stained towels and threadworn bedding, ragged carpets, burned out lightbulbs, fewer stateroom stewards to service rooms which makes staterooms inaccessible to guests for 6-8 hours every day. Stateroom "categories" are practically meaningless except for location within the ship. A "large" stateroom can be very tight with little space for storage. Although we paid hundred$ extra, it was the smallest stateroom we've had in over 20 cruises. Room safe can be accessed only with a magnetic strip type card, not a keyed in code that could be used by spouse or fellow roommates. Guests cannot hear ship-wide announcements when inside the stateroom. There should be an option for this. Yet all guests were awakened in the middle of the night by an in-stateroom announcement about a private medical emergency. Announcements made in noisy public areas such as the Lido buffets and outdoor decks could not be understood at all. Also, music piped into many parts of the ship was so loud that it drove away guests. There were persistent problems with the toilets throughout the ship -- dirty water, non functioning, etc. A couple of times the electricity in the stateroom went out. There is no dedicated movie theater, no outdoor movie screen and no schedule or guide for the limited television channels. No access to the stateroom folio account or daily schedule/menus through the television, either. Most of the few movies that were offered were aimed at juveniles. Water slide was dry and nonfunctional during our cruise. No explanation given. Never enough chaise lounges or other seating near the pools to meet demand. Poltergeists apparently took over one elevator, leading to trapped guests not being able to get where they wanted to go and then opening the door only extremely briefly so guests could not safely exit, either. Sales in the atrium are never a good idea -- too many shoppers in way too small a place. People actually fought to get to the only available side of a table of t-shirts. Shipboard bar drinks were generally not well made and were much higher in price than on several other cruise lines, as well. No encouragement or urging for guests to wash their hands and use hand sanitizers, especially in the dining venues. As a result, most guests did not do so, spreading their germs/illnesses everywhere, to the detriment of all. Lots of coughing and sneezing passengers aboard the ship. Some venues (Mad Hatters Ball) were so cold the staff supplied guests with blankets to watch movies. No popcorn, though. Constant heavy "mist" spewed into the air of the Phantom Theater for theatrical atmospheric purposes smelled bad and caused coughing amongst the guests. This mist was not turned off regardless of whether it was appropriate for the entertainment production. Poor ventilation in and near the casino made for unpleasantly smoky conditions throughout that deck and beyond. Raffles in the shipboard shops (must be present to win) were held during the late evening when most guests would be at dinner or attending entertainment productions/events. Folio charges and credits were issued per guest instead of per stateroom, even though only one credit card was on file to cover the account. This meant that each guest listed on the account had to make individual purchases to cover their individual credits instead of one large purchase being allowed to absorb the entire group's or couple's credits. There should instead be an option to group the credits on the same account. Some shipboard charges, such as gratuities, are not added to the passengers' account until the last day of the cruise, creating unrealistic expectations for passengers and naturally followed by long lines at the Front Desk. Only a two hour window (9-11 p.m.) was allowed for setting luggage in the hallway for pick up the night before debarkation, leading to missed entertainment on the final night of the cruise. Read Less

We had to order a bunch of things from the menu just to find 1 or 2 decent items. The fish tacos were gummy and bland. The ship is definitely dated and could use a complete remodel. The muster drill...SIGH! It was a cramped, hot, unorganized mess. It was never that bad before but this time, it was the absolute worst. The whirlpools in the back of the ship were the 2nd worst part of the sailing. I usually look forward to my time in the whirlpool but they were not even hot. I informed guest services, but they barely did anything. The staff working on the ship, including our cabin steward, were amazing and we were grateful to them for taking such great care of us. After this last sailing, we will not be sailing with carnival anytime soon. Read Less

Guys Burger and BBQ refreshing. Known for a younger crowd with families as it is affordable. Overall, we don't have complaints. Definately needs better elevator service and deportation was very disorganized. We enjoyed our time and relaxed. We are older so we dictated what and when we wanted to do things! I am in a wheelchair and getting on and off the ship from beginning to end was difficult. The ramps are too short and everything and everyone has to stop and wait on you. I did not like this, embarrassing and everyone is in a hurry and I got a lot of dirty looks and sighs! Until you have to be in a wheelchair you don't understand its inconvenience. My group of 13 in 4 cars all parked at the port and arrived about 11:30am. There was a small line that moved pretty smoothly. The lot is not covered like other ports. It was not very easy to navigate as the lines painted on the pavement don't match up with the cones they have laid out and other cruisers cant seem to figure out where they should be. However, they had enough people out directing traffic and getting people back in proper lines that this wasn't a big issue. The shuttle from parking lot to embarkation lines were friendly, clean, and fast. Embarkation was about as fast as other ports we have used (New Orleans, San Juan). The lines before security were squeezed in tight, not very friendly for anyone carrying anything. Our stroller (small umbrella) and small carry-ons struggled through the poles. Other passengers with just carry on or twelve pack were struggling as well. They just have the space much to narrow. Check-in was smooth, except they placed one of our rooms on the wrong floor than promised. They also dissmissed this because it they didn't considerate it a problem. However, it was a huge hassle. We booked to all be on the same floor for easier communication and meeting up, but having one room on another floor was a headache. The texting feature on the app doesn't work, so there is not a convenient way to communicate. Our cabins were clean as expected. Our two year old still sleeps in a crib at home, but they won't assign on for 2+. Our steward got a supervisor to approve one for ours!! Saved our sanity!! We pushed the double bed against the wall with the window and had lots of room for the crib and stroller. (Extra tip for the hard to make bed lol) We did have a problem with a sink, but it was fixed within an hour. The ship was pretty clean and seemed well maintained. Nothing stood out as horrible or fantastic as far as decor goes. Our first night in the dining room was pretty horrible. Our drinks ordered the first few minutes of being seated didnt arrive until midway through our main course. It also took much longer than usual for anything. After that night we were seated in a different section and returned there every night after. No problems after being moved to a different area with a different wait staff. The food was good, but drinks take forever. We started taking one with us, ordering one when seated, and found that to be better for us. Our 2 year is mostly potty trained, but we like to use a swim diaper for accidents (just incase). We were worried that traveling may mess up his potty routine and not be able to swim or use the water slide area, but there were atleast 6 kids with swim diapers at any moment in the slide area. (He ended up being fine and did well with potty and traveling! We took a foldable potty seat that we used before cruise just so he had something he was already using.) The slides were all three kids favorite part! Ages 2-6. They did like the shows, but got so tired it was hard for them to stay up for some of them. Only the 2 year old went to the camp ocean. They were having a bubble party and he loved it, kept asking to go play!! We are home and he still wants to go to camp ocean. The other children didn't go only because of parental choice. The rocking on the ship was much rougher than our other sailings in the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea. Sailing in the Atlantic we got a real experience of sea sickness. Take meds even if you havent gotten sick on previous trips! Ports: Princess cays: Nice beach, but it does have somewhat rocky/rough shore line. Water shoes are a must!! The kids and babies can still play in the sand, but getting into and out of water is a bit hard. If you want a shaded seat rent a clam shell for $30 on shore or get one in a package. Bubbles and Cheers dont work on this, even though you use your sail and sign for almost everything. There are plenty of seats in the sun, plenty of beach, and plenty of places to play. There is a playground and kiddy pool. Showers to rinse off. Floats and things to rent. Look into the packages to save some bucks before this port. The buffet was not good. There are four lines, but people tend to just form into the first line. Dont be afraid to jump into a shorter line. All the lines going into the same building are on the same side and serve the same food. Served some salsa/chips, salad sides, hot dogs, hamburgers, jerk chicken, rice, beans, water, lemonade, cookies, and browies. The salsa and chips were the best thing they had. Half of our burgers were undercooked, the chicken was mostly bone, rice and beans were very dry. Would have preferred to pay for fast food or just sandwich boxes. Overall we did like this port. We didn't have a big expense for excursions, so that was a nice plus. The beach was nice and the water was clean! Nassau was ok. We had a private boat excursion lined up because we couldn't find anything for our group with a 2 year old. Due to an early morning thunderstorm, ours was cancelled. We ended up just walking around and shopping. There are a lot of vendors trying to sell you something. We were told that its not safe to go out with out a carnival exscursion, but I had read reviews before we left and figured they were just trying to sell us an excursion. We had no trouble walking around close to the port and shopping. We didnt go far because the heat was horrible. I think we would have prefered to do something else if we could go back. The Suess breakfast was a nice experience for the older kids. They loved seeing stories come to life and get pics with characters. The toddler didn't care. The adults didn't care for the special dishes, but the staff was happy to get regular dishes too, just ask! The staff here was above and beyond amazing!! For only $5 a person, we felt pretty pampered for a breakfast. The line to enter could have been a little more organized, but the actual event was great! If you have kids, give this a shot- especially on this ship!! Disembarkation was a nightmare. This was our 3rd carnival cruise and by far the worst getting off the ship. We went to the disembarkation show and read what was suppose to happen. Charleston requires Carnival to do a silent disembarkation, which would have been nice. However, nothing was done how they said it would be done. Self carry off was suppose to go by floor and have the forward elevators locked in for the currently called floor. This was not the case. We waited over 20 minutes during our "priority" elevator time and EVERY ONE PASSED OUR FLOOR. The employee standing at the bay was telling everyone that they had to use the stairs and the elevators were only for the top floors. We asked her about the priority elevator time for our floor and she said she didnt know when that was. Then she just left the area. Having some disabled folks, we were not able to do stairs with strollers and luggage in tow. We waited for an elevator for 25 minutes along with 4 other disabled groups. When an elevator showed up, a crew member was telling us that it shouldn't have stopped on our floor, he needed to go up. When asked why our floor was called to disembark and asked about our floors designated elevator times, he mumbled that they were busy and all floors needed elevators. The lines to get off the ship were stalled so many times to WAIT for people that packed sail and sign cards in luggage. The lines were so long, the crew was having a hard time wrapping it around just one floor. We were told that we couldn't use the handicap ramp on the 3rd level because we didn't have a wheel chair. The day before we were told we could. The disembarkation show advised anyone that has trouble with the inclines/ handicap/ or those with prams should use deck 3 to disembark. However, nothing that was said in the disembarkation show or on the papers given out was followed. This was a crap-show. I am not sure I would sail out of Charleston again. The port itself needs an overhaul and disembarkation was a nightmare. This ship was fine. Read Less

We looked for an inexpensive cruise to see if I could do it since I recently went on oxygen. The cabin steward was friendly but the cabin was rarelt done when we returned after being out. Make up cabin cards no longer available. Our waiter was good but our table was a little out of arae and we had inconsistant service. We didn't see any shows as the theater was at the opposite end of the ship. We also didn't get off the ship as we have been on 29 cruises. The TV was really disappointing. No more network channels, 3 or 4 news cannels all connected with CNN. One movie channel which showed the wrong movies since they must change the somewhat monthly. Terrible entertainment. They worked on the balconies 2 days and I couldn't see any improvement. Like all cruise lines things are going downhill and starting to become adisappointment. Read Less

I had every one doing their check in online , definitely recommend ,which help with the transition. For disabled assistance, the check in was fast too. I had requested wheel chair assistant for my parents ahead of time. We had 4 children during the trip, they loved the water slides, golf courts area, arcade, pool & the children clubs, recommend online registration for kids activities. This ship is one of the old one from carnival. Very simple, not much entertainment and activities onboard. Dance club not much options; DJ sucs no variety in music selection. Cabins were simple, small and some structures deteriorated.We had ocean view and inside cabins. The worst room service take long to bring your request. All shore excursions were bought at ports, cheaper.Yes will go again. Read Less

We chose this cruise because departure port was close enough to drive. We took two of our grandchildren which was their first time away from parents! Pros: Camp ocean was great! The kids loved it and the staff were super! Most offerings in main room were delish. I had two dishes inedible; the prime rib and mahi-mahi, but everything else better than expected. Our Matri’d was so accommodating. He changed our dining time from anytime to 6 pm., and assigned us one of the best tables in London Dining. The towel animal ‘parade’ around the pool was a big hit! Cons: Being that there were no accessible rooms available we opted for an ocean suite. Do not think ‘suite’ is better and bigger. It is not. (The only suite plus was the captains lounge before embarking.) Our room number was 7329. Our cabin steward did not put away children’s beds during the day which made it near impossible to maneuver, especially since my husband and I had both had mobility scooters. (All cruise lines need to uphold rules for who can reserve accessible rooms.). Beside all this, the room was on the warm side. Thank goodness I brought a fan. We did not allow children to swim last day at sea. The water was turning green. Rightly so because the public restrooms were few and far between and well hidden. There were no family appropriate shows in the theatre. We heard there was a good comedian in forward lounge but it was standing room only every night. There were no quiet places to enjoy an evening cocktail. Every bar area had bands thinking the louder they played the more talented they were. The Piano Bar, Big Easy, Venezia were always closed for special events. IF you could find someone to order a drink, it was so watered down they should be ashamed for charging so much. The endless bubbles was a total waste of money. There again, it was near impossible to find someone to take your soda or juice order. We even had to pay for distilled water to put in c-pac machine! The main dining room/s were never opened for breakfast or lunch. (There was at sea brunch.). The only breakfast or lunch choices were hamburgers, pizza, or a limited buffet offering all with long lines. Being on a scooter it wasn’t easy getting a plate. The only one to ever help was Mariana. One review star goes to her alone. We really missed the little things. Chocolates left on pillows, A call letting us know room service was on the way. The variety of items in fun shops was poor. Only one ‘sidewalk’ sale which I always bought future gifts or souvenirs. I realize all this is to keep costs down to provide this experience of varying budgets. We will probably take the grandkids again next year. Your children’s program and staff are wonderful. I do hope a little bit larger boat will replace Triumph. (I read she was going in to dry dock for a much needed facelift.). I was surprised there was only one slide for kiddos. Hopefully the redo will add a few more water thrills. Read Less

We went on a group cruise with friends. Our room was always clean and our cabin host was always helpful and friendly. The issues I had was that they boardered on harassment on the first day to push drinks on you. The closest ice machine was out of service the whole time. But what should have been unacceptable was the elevator that went to the 12th floor where the kids camp was located was out of service the whole entire cruise. I am disabled and climbing a flight of stairs is both difficult and painful for me. Also disembarkment at the first port was horrendous. Basically the whole ship was told to go at the same time. Disembarkment at Galveston was similar to the chaos at out 1st port. If you do the dune buggy tour take snacks unless you want to pay an additional $20 per person to eat at the beach. Read Less
