Carnival Charleston Cruise Reviews

Great meeting this guy, humble and transparent. He just knows what he's doing. As I said,if He is not your cruise activity director, just ask for a refund lol. He's that good.

Carnival Ecstacy

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Carnival Ecstasy

Just returned from a cruise with friends. While Carnival is usually not my cruise choice and while the weather wasn’t what we’d hoped for, we had a great time. The staff on the Ecstacy was amazing. We LOVED several of the entertainment staff, especially Houston, who was all over the ship and was the BEST karioki mc, the musician who played in the Atrium (and other places) and the guy in the piano ...

Great cruise overall, a few issues

This was my 3rd carnival cruise (4th overall). It was mostly as expected for carnival. Good entertainment and good food. The ship is smaller and older than others I have been on but they have made some updates. There is only one pool and the hot tubs were always completely full of 10 year olds, we couldn't even get our feet in. If you didnt get a chair before 9a, it was impossible to find one in ...

Had a great time. The weather in January is hit or miss and it was a miss. Sea was very rough. Embarkation went very quickly (faster to fun passes) and we were on ship in about 30 minutes. Parking at Charleston port went very smoothly except for people who did not have their luggage tagged correctly and held up the line. Recommend prepaying for parking. Parked in warehouse. They had ample buses to ...

New Years Eve on the Ecstasy

There is nothing better than ringing in the New Year at sea. This was our 4th NYE cruise and 2nd on the Ecstasy. We were fortunate enough to have one of our son's family of 4 and my wife's 2 sisters and a nephew cruise with us. Having family along was icing on the cake. We live about 30 minutes outside of Charleston and it's very convenient. A family member dropped us off and we met our son at ...

We had a group of 17 - 8 adults and 9 kids, (cousins) ranging from 7-22, trying something new for that lazy week off between Christmas and NYE. We are all east coasters with ties to Charleston. The timing and location of this cruise were why we picked it. The group had several 1st time cruisers (myself not included) so we veterans thought this would be a good initiation to cruising. This ...

So the ship is old and you could tell very easily. We tried the dining room three times but my husband had issues each time. We paid extra ($20) just for a steak, plain. It came with some red wine sauce on it, twice. Even though we specifically asked for no sauce. Very disappointing. The included lemonade made me "pucker" each time I tried it, it was so sour. The included iced tea did not ...

Had the misfortune of sailing from Charleston, SC to the Bahamas in a cold snap. There was no heat on the ship, not even in the staterooms. Had to sleep under 2 comforters and in 2 robes with towels wrapped around my legs the first 2 nights. Also had to wear a fleece jacket in the Dining room every night. The cigarette smoke from the casino made walking on the port side of the 9th floor ...

Chose this cruise to accommodate our grandson's school schedule and our work schedules as well as a drivable port. The ship is aging and even though they've added Guy's and the Blue Iguana, the ship is still showing signs of age, paint over obvious rusting, window seam deterioration, etc. We still enjoyed the cruise in general, but also had some less than perfect weather at our ports, not ...

We were somewhat disappointed in some of the food. Example: There was none of the normal toppings for a salad-egg/cheese/croutons, just vegetables and strange tasting black and green olives. The ranch is either a very cheap brand or watered down as it has almost no taste. The syrup for pancakes/french toast/waffles is the same, either cheap brand or watered down, strange taste. The scrambled eggs ...
