Had a great cruse 20 years ago. We always wanted to do it again. BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!! Paid extra for a balcony cabin on deck 9. We had 8 out of 10 nights without sleep. Buffet area is directly above the cabins as is the main pool area with nightime activities. The cleaning ou these areas is done in the early hours of the morning. Trolleys loaded with cups and plates etc roll over the textured ...

Our first cruise was on the Carnival Magic during it's inaugural season in 2011 for our 30th Wedding Anniversary and it seemed only fitting that we repeat the experience for our 35th on Carnival's newest ship, Vista. We spent a couple of days in Athens pre-cruise and made our way to Piraeus via taxi. The embarkation process was really impressive, we arrived at just about the time suggested on ...

A FEELING OF BEING RIPPED OFF

A REAL FEELING OF BEING CONNED. The cruise was advertised at a very good price, without giving any clues of outrageous price additions once on board. The ship was clean and cabin and most areas in good condition(as expected as Vista is very new) Food was just OK nothing special in MDR. Speciality restaurants Ji Ji Asian and 555 superb (extra cost though) Pixel photographers popping ...

Great ports and a very nice cruise experience

Things started off on the negative side since we lost Turkey, lost the Cheers program and got hit with a 24% VAT tax. Once we got on the ship on a sunny day in Athens, it was all good and it turned out to be a great experience. I'm not sure if I'll cruise again since there are some aspects of the whole cruise experience I don't care for (too many deadlines and no night sight-seeing), but that has ...

Unhappy Regular Cruisers

We chose this cruise as it was a brand new Carnival Ship thinking it would be awesome, we were very disappointed in comparison with other Cruise Companies, the lifts were dreadful, we were on the 14th floor and only 2 lifts to this floor, we waited ages for lifts and had a person in a wheelchair. No reserved areas for wheelchair or disabled passengers in any of the function rooms or ...

As with all reviews a lot comes down to taste. Personally we liked the modern fresh style on the ship. The one sea day was quite crowded but other than that had a great time on deck. Water world was great fun as were the sky ride and ropes. Loads of activities for all ages. The food wasn't great in the main dining. It promised a lot but just didn't deliver. Often bland/dry/overcooked. I know they ...

Royal Caribbean better but good holiday overall

just returned from 12 days on the Carnival Vista. This is our 4th cruise and our first with the Carnival. The ship is new but does lack the wow of the Royal Caribbean, it a fun ship rather than an elegant ship. The layout is a bit confusing but by the end of the cruise we had mainly cracked it. The Cruise Director has definitely got what it takes to add fun to the adventure and reminds me ...

This is our 4th cruise and second with Carnival. I booked this trip for my 50th birthday and took the family (two kids 10 and 12). Carnival is fantastic if you have a family or want to have fun. Here are a few items I wanted to share: Our room: 2409. Second floor mid ship. The room was very large with two baths. Note that only one has a toilet. There was a very large closet. The best part ...

We embarked the ship at 4pm therefore it was seamless, we were probably the last one's on the ship therefore no line-ups. We travelled with our 12 year old. The downside of the 12-14 year old camp was it was closed all day until 4pm which that didn't work for us since she didn't want to come on excursions with us. After a few days, I contacted the younger camp counsellor and enrolled my ...

I took my daughter on this cruise for her high school graduation and 18th birthday. We stayed in a Cloud 9 suite. The spa was amazing and I went there almost every day. The food was unbelievable. I'm not quite sure how people can say the food was "too fancy". Great food is great food! If you don't like steak and lobster or Beef Wellington...then just go get a pizza and cheese fries and quit ...
