Had a suite room had a tub only no shower. Very disappointed! We are in our early eighties and climbing into and out if a bathtub not safe or easy for seniors. Luckily we had a decko drain along the tub on the floor and our Room steward brought in a handicap bathroom seat and we took our showers beside the tub right out on the floor. The other complaint on all ships seems to be furniture ...
Wonderful Last minute Anniversary Cruise.
We decided fairly last minute (for us) to take a cruise for our anniversary, right at 60 days. I started looking and Carnival had an inexpensive cruise on the Vista out of Miami going to Grand Turk. We had never been on Carnival nor had we been to Grand Turk. We had heard that the scuba in Grand Turk was amazing. We had also heard Carnival called the ...
Overall, I could not have asked for a better cruise! We chose the Vista because we wanted a newer ship with lots of on board activities. It wasn't perfect, but really was wonderful.
We arrived in Miami the day prior to the cruise and stuck pretty close to the hotel. Our adult daughter and her fiance joined us on this cruise, but their cabin was on a different floor.
We had a balcony ...
We took a family trip with my DH, DD10, and DD7. I'll break down different aspects of the trip by category. I'll also compare it some to RCCL (we've done Allure of the Seas).
Not-so-goods:
First-day-buffet:
We were dumb and went to the buffet on the first day right when we got onto the ship. On RCL, we've done that too, and it's been busy, but not like this. It freaked me out, to be ...
The southern Caribbean cruise on the Vista was an amazing experience in every way. It leaves from Miami, and our overnight stay at the Intercontinental hotel was perfect. The cab ride to the ship was quick and easy, and embarkation was a breeze! The ship itself is designed so most activities are on decks 4, 5, and 10 - this made it easier to get around this extraordinary mega ship. The food ...
Been on a few Carnival ships. Nothing fancy about the ship itself, not luxurious, but hits the nail on the head where it counts. Great food, entertainment, multiple musicians throughout the ship, and at sea brewery was kinda cool. People sometimes write off Carnival as a cheaper ship but I think they are more fun than most others.
Pros:
Good food. Buffet and dinners are typical but the new ...
Just got back from an 8 day southern cruise on Vista 05-27. We had a blast! I read so many reviews prior to boarding that I felt it only right to share one of my own. My husband and I are in mid 50's with mid 30's attitude:) We stayed at the Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon the night before. They have a great deal that includes, lodging, parking while on the cruise and shuttle to the ...
We chose this cruise because it was going to Aruba & Curacao, two islands we haven't been to. We wanted to make it a special cruise on a special ship. We started our adventure by flying in a day early and landing in Fort Lauderdale. Then we took a bus to the train station and rode the train to the Miami airport, then called our hotel and were picked up by their shuttle, all in all it took three ...
We choose the vista because the Havana section sounded perfect for adults. We had room 7458 which had its own large deck area that overlooked the private Havana pool and spas as well as a nice sized room with a comfortable king bed as well as a couch and desk area. There was also plenty of closet space. The bathroom was smaller but functional. We loved our steward Lalaine who took excellent care ...
Great vacation, loved the ship. We traveled with a group of 24 and from working with group reservations to getting on the ship everything was seamless. I like the new system for getting on the ship and receiving your keys in your mail slot at your room. They have really streamlined and gotten rid of the lines.
This is our 8th cruise on Carnival and they didn’t disappoint. They have scaled down ...
