I found a great deal on The Carnival Splendor and thought we would go for it.  We have cruised on RCCL, Oceania, Disney, NCL and Carnival before so I was aware of the different levels of service and quality.  Even though I thought I knew what we were in for I had another thing coming.Embarkation and debarkation went very quickly and smoothly.  The cabin was fine and the ship (although very pink) ...

Just back from my second trip on the Carnival Splendor.  I was on a two day Cruise to Nowhere in March. She is still beautiful.  I have reviewed her before, and gave in-depth information on the ship itself, so this review is just going to be some random impressions of things I didn't get to on the previous trip. There will also be several other reviews of this sailing, which will probably give more ...

Unfortunately after taking such a great cruise and getting it for a price that can never be repeated AND having a balcony for the first time, well I am spoiled for any further trips. Rats.My Husband I have been on several cruises each and now we have been on two together.  The last one was on the Freedom last summer, which was a wonderful European trip. This cruise was on May 10th.  The Sunday ...

We are most thankful for the itinerary change from the Mexican Riviera to Canada.  Last October we embarked from thesame port at Long Beach aboard the Carnival Pride for a 7 day Mexican Riviera cruise.  While we did enjoy our Mexican Riviera cruise, we liked visiting our ports in Canada more.   Our first call to port was in Astoria Oregon.  When we first got off the ship it was cold and windy with ...

This will be a short review. Needless to say, we were bummed that we weren't going to Mexico and contemplated cancelling, but we just wanted to get on the ship so badly. Boy, are we glad that we did. The ship is a biggie... well, at least compared to the Paradise. Yeah, it was pink, but so what? I found the layout a little harder to grasp than the Paradise (only my 2nd cruise), but there were ...

Great family cruise

Overall very happy with my 2nd Carnival cruise.  This ship is really family oriented, so if you have young kids (mine is 2) you're in great shape.  They have both Camp Carnival and a Splash Park area for kids, as well as the regular pools, water slide and mini-golf.  Service was excellent by room staff, dining staff, etc.  Food was great as well, Lobster, Shrimp, Steak, Fish, etc.  Nice variety at ...

Left Sunday Morning  on what was supposed to be  a relaxing  7 day cruise.Well  hey we  took jackets and long pants  but  were unprepared for the wet snowflakes that graced our faces in Astoria! We got of the ship for about half an hour to go through  the  mini  swap meet  that  local crafters  had  provided for  us. Not  very good weather  for sure,  but still needed to get off the rocking ship  ...

We were supposed to go to the Mexican Riviera but headed north to three ports instead. Embarkation: was painless and efficient and we headed for the buffet on the lido deck and enjoyed a good selection of food that was prepared well and seemed fresh.Day one ,sea day was nice, explored the ship and played a little miniature golf on the sport deck, then toured the spa,,very nice, and got the feel of ...

This was our 17th cruise our 7th on Carnival.  So, unfortunately we have many other ships to compare.  We, tried not to compare and just enjoy.  But, there was alot of unhappy people to listen to.   It starts at the embarkation.  For one thing the ship was full (over3000) and they didn't start to board until almost 1pm.  So, between 1 and 5p all were trying to board.  Get the picture.HaThe Lido ...

We had originally planned to cruise the Mexican Riviera, but, the Swine Flu had other plans.  Due to our schedules, we decided to go anyway and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.  We traveled with young adults. We departed from Long Beach, CA.  We enjoyed staying on and touring the Queen Mary, where, for a good tip, the bellhop will take your luggage over the the Splendor for you.  We also had the ...
