We chose this 6 day cruise after a hectic 10 days in Orlando, so this was suppose to relax.
We paid the extra to get this Scenic Ocean View cabin. When we entered our cabin we were wow’ed by the view directly out of the front of the ship and also the size of the cabin.
We also noticed how cold the room was and the whistling sound coming from the ceiling grill as the force of the air from the ...
As a former NCL favorite, I decided to give Carnival a try because it was cheap, and the cruise planning was only a few months before the sailing date. The two of us, 21 and 22, were excited to explore the Splendor and have a great time, however what we had hoped for wasn't all that grand.
The first night on the cruise, the 13th, we sat by the AFT adult pool and enjoyed a drink and the sun ...
Cabin was clean, however our bathroom flooded on the last day and it spilled out and flooded the hallway as well. Also, the balcony door had a leak and our floor near the door and bed was soaked. We had a group of 8 and nearly all cabins experienced problems...included my now mother in law's room having no electricity or lights for almost 3 days.
Food was sub par at best compared to the other ...
Embarkation was the worst. It was like this was the first time that Carnival did this. Food was not good. Ship was old and did not look good at all. Staff were okay and tried but you could see that they could not keep up. Shore excursions were bland at best. Shows were weak and not that entertaining. It looked as if no was trying and could care less. Getting on the ship was the worst I have ever ...
This was my first Carnival experience and I was really excited to go but was quickly disappointed. The rooms are outdated but ok but our balcony doors was smeared ,residue all over banister. My husband wiped the chairs and banister down so we could look over and sit on balcony. The restaurant food we were assigned to "The Black Pearl" food selection was good but the buffet was very limited and ...
we were on our 11th cruise, and this was one of the worse one we took ( we took the hurricane cruise on glory a few yrs ago) .Some of the staff did not care if the carts ran over your feet, when we said something they blew you off and laughed. Ordered a well done steak i think it came from the bilges could not cut or decide what it was. the next day we went to the rotissary, dishes were dirty we ...
First the weather was terrible, can't blame Carnival for that. Embarkation was quick and easy. I've got to hand it to Norfolk they did a great job. This was my wife and I 14th cruise with Carnival but this was the worst ship we've been on there were 12 of us. The lay out was very different all the pool areas were located towards the back of the ship. They canceled evening shows. The comedy shows ...
A small group of five was extremely disappointed with Carnival. The adage that you get what you pay for seems to be correct in our experience. We have traveled with RC, HA, and our favorite Norwegian. This cruise was our eighth.
For ease of review I will differentiate our concerns:
1- Infection control. No encouragement with the hand sanitizers. Especially as you enter the buffet area. ...
Having traveled with Norwegian, Holland America, and Royal Caribbean I can honestly write of my disappointment with Carnival. My disappointment on several fronts was so strong that I will not take this line again. I will explain: When my small group of five first arrived at the pier to register the excitement and anticipation of our eight days of fun and relaxation was joyful. This is where the ...
First (and probably last) Carnival cruise. Food-often arrived lukewarm at dinner, sitdown breakfast omlet was equal to a budget hotel freebee, bagel overtoasted, buffet lines were long but food was better. Alternate dining at grill was excellent as was the deli. Refused to pay more for the steak restaurant although many said it was a five star meal. Service was below average. Slow service, waiters ...
