I had sailed on the Splendor in 2013 from Santiago to Buenos Aires. It was wonderful. When I heard that the Splendor was being repositioned from Singapore to Sydney, I was really looking forward cruise.
The cruise had to be booked through the Australian department but that meant finding the 800 number.
But it was a disaster from start to finish. Carnival has two departments - the US and ...
I choose this cruise as the Splendor was in dry dock in Singapore before relocating to Australia and thought that the itinerary would suit my wife and myself . How wrong was I . Embarkation was a disaster . The check in people didn't open the desks for nearly 2 hrs after they were supposed to and then there was a stampede of people all trying to get on board at the same time . They should have ...
We chose this cruise for a couple of reasons - firstly because it was sailing out of Singapore and we hadn't done that before, and secondly because one of the ports was Komodo Island which we were looking forward to very much.
Embarkation day was a complete mess. The port authority process was ok but then we went to the check in counter for Carnival where we were given receipts for our ...
Have had previous cruises with carnival but unfortunately this one was well below the standard of those.Embarkation was undisciplined and chaotic, most would have been given a specific boarding time but it appeared no one took notice of it, board as soon as possible. No organisation of crowd.
Washing machines in the laundry was another dogs breakfast with only 1 machine available for 3000 ...
I wanted to try the new ship and join her to come to Sydney From Singapore, I stayed in cabin 7276 Interior, This was not a nice cabin, the bed shook all night long as it was next door to the electrical room,Hardly any sleep. The cabins are a good size, I went solo but this cabin would be for a triple. Food in the Bistro area, was very plain and same nearly every day which is a shame as variety ...
The splendour has been in Singapore for a re fit. Apparently millions spent on it.would like to know where. Tiniest room we have ever had on a cruise 7416. cannot pass each other. if your in your wardrobe beware of toilet door knocking you out. we have come from NZ to join her for the repositioning to Sydney. Well got off 1 1/2 hours late but that was ok rooms were ready cases there by the time we ...
went on this cruise as it was repositioning and bringing Splendor to Australia for it's inaugural season. I travelled with a group of friends who also love to cruise.
We enjoyed it very much even with the teething problems which were soon sorted.
Cruise Director Lee was fabulous and worked so hard for the entire trip....always a pleasure to be around.
Entertainment was great.....shows ...
We like repositioning cruises. We liked previous Carnival cruises. We had even been on this ship before and enjoyed it. This cruise was chaos from the time we tried to book until we got off - the only thing that went smoothly was disembarkation.
Getting on the ship in Singapore was difficult and unnecessarily complex. We hadn't been allowed by Carnival Australia to prebook shore excursions ...
This was my 16th cruise (my 2nd cruise on Carnival ). We chose this cruise because the price was great and the ports were potentially interesting. It was a repositioning cruise from Singapore to Sydney, stopping at Bali, Komodo Island, Darwin, Airlie Beach, Moreton Island and Sydney. We stayed in Singapore for 3 nights before the cruise which was great.
Embarkation in Singapore was very ...
Cleanliness was non-existent on Splendor. Staff wiped tables with passengers' used napkins in both buffet & dining room...UGH!!!!
Hand sanitisers were not enforced on board - half were empty anyway. Staff should have been present to watch that passengers used sanitiser to keep ship "germfree".
Children joined into groups/gangs after the first few days to regularly run riot late evenings - ...
