"The Mardi Gras is totally different from any other Carnival ship. Instead of one deck with shops, casinos, etc the Mardi Gras has 3, decks 6,7,8. All laid out well with a ton of restaurants along with a Tour Time..."Read More

What a ship!!

Review for Carnival Mardi Gras to Caribbean - Eastern

We''ve been on the Vista, Symphony, Adventure of the Seas and now the Mardi Gras in the past 3 years. All but the AOS (which we chose because it was the ONLY ship sailing in early July) were in their maiden years. This ship IMHO beats them all, even the SOS. Sensory overload from the second you step into the ship's Central Stage. This venue was by far our favorite, from morning to night. Just ...

Wonderful Cruise on Beautiful New Ship!

Review for Carnival Mardi Gras to Caribbean - Eastern

We just go off the most amazing new ship the Mardi Gras! The ship is beautiful and the staff was excellent! We enjoyed the Atrium on the side of the ship where they had multiple shows and music. The Serenity deck has so many places for couples to sit together, clamshells and day beds and plenty of loungers. A lot in the shade for those of us who do not want to be in direct sun all the time. ...

Pretty Good, but Headed for Troubled Waters at Full Capacity

Review at a Glance (TLDR): - I would give a 3.5/5 if half ratings were possible. I rounded down because I foresee major issues as passenger numbers ramp up towards capacity. - 60% capacity (3,875 passengers) - Excursions are highlight experiences and should definitely be booked in Cozumel and Costa Maya - There is enough to do in Rotan to forego booking an excursion in favor of the ...

Fantastic Mardi Gras B2B

We disembarked Mardi Gras on Saturday after a B2B – cruise number 45 for us the way we count them (we count B2B’s as a single cruise). The cruise can be summarized in one word: Wow! This is not your father’s (or grandfather’s) Carnival – it’s way better! We liked it so much that we are returning in December for another B2B! Embarkation was easy, even with the additional vaccination and ...

Fantastic Cruise (with a few hiccups)

We flew from Georgetown, KY then rode shuttle to Cocoa Beach for our night-before cruise stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites. We really enjoyed the hotel and the staff. It is located about a 15-minute drive to the port terminal. That night, my wife's cousin took us to Gator's Seafood for dinner. It was excellent! The next morning, our shuttle from the hotel arrived at 10am and took us to the port ...

Great New Ship - Entertainment not so good - Hungry at might for something other than pizza

We wanted to sail on the Mardi Gras, since it was new and sounded fabulous. We were scheduled on the Panorama twice before getting cancelled. Third time scheduling a cruise the charm! Mardi Gras is big and spacious. Our stateroom was standard with lots of closet space and USB ports. We were on deck 15 right below the Lido. At night it was very noisy, as it seemed they were moving furniture ...

Update to New and Different

My previous review was on the second ever cruise taken by the Mardi Gras. We took it again 5 weeks later and offer this updated information Embarkation - instead of taking nearly 90 min. to get on the ship this time was less than 34 min. If you show up before your assigned 30 minute window , you won't be able to even enter the terminal! If you do manage to sneak in, there's a second ...

Great food choices, some poor design choices

Review for Carnival Mardi Gras to Caribbean - Eastern

Overall outstanding ship with lots of activities, very few public areas for lounging inside and will probably be crowded when at full capacity. We were about 58% full and the ship never felt crowded at all. Something to think about here... the listed capacity is 6500 passengers (that's with more than 2 people in many staterooms, Max capacity), while the Royal Caribbean Oasis class can carry 6700 ...

Mardi Gras Sept 11, 2021 Port Canaveral Room Stewart Jaya Captain Vincenzo Alcaras My time Dinning OVERALL WOW This Ship is an eye opener from the minute you board. One week is not enough time to visit all. Mardi Gras must be the quietest ship I have ever had the pleasure to sail on. COVID Boarding process not what we expected. September 11, 2021 First this is our 3rd carnival cruise, dream, magic and Mardi Gras. We have sailed 24 times, so not new to cruising. We arrived the night before, stayed with family in winter garden. Rented a car from Alamo at mco to port Canaveral, which is very close to the ships terminal. No problems at all. Rental Shuttle dropped us off at our designated time slot 12-12:30, ...
