1-We returned Saturday 11/18 /2023 and so fare my credit for $157 has not been back to my CC yet, today is 11/26 and when I contacted our carnival booking agent , he stated he can not do anything , we need to call customer care , when you call customer care # all recorded messages no way to talk to live agent, I emailed them 3 days ago and so fare no answers. 

2-We were in Balcony in deck #8 and all the time we smell Marijuana or cigarette coming from people insetting or walking in deck 5 which according to Carnival policies no smoking in the middle of the deck 5 , it's only should be in the rear and honestly it should be only in higher deck 11 and above so no one should be bothered with the second hand smoking and how did they get Marijuana in board , I thought even medical marijuana in prohibited on board ?

3-We felt totally disrespected and violated on Friday 11/17/2023 when they clean the balcony from outside.

On Thursday 11/16 we found a note stating that they will clean the balcony tomorrow 11/17 with no specific time mentioned so I called and asked our room service personal and he stated it will be @ 10 ;00 am so we planned to have our breakfast @ 9;30 and hang around the ship till noon so that will give them plenty of time to finish their job , at nine sharp while we getting dressed was someone passing by in our balcony , with no alarm.

This can be easily avoided if they send a message through the app stating they are going to start cleaning the balcony in the next 15 minutes or knocking in the door and alarming us about their plan and no one care about our privacy.

Carnival has no respect to their customer 

Monaco (Monte Carlo)

Loved the violins in the main entrance. They were the best entertainment on board. The comedians were ok and they had a night club however it was a different atmosphere than I like, I love to dance but I didn’t even know what was done in that night club happened in the world. They had to bring 3 fridges to the room before one worked and the hair dryer exploded in my face when I was using it. Apparently they didn’t maintain the rooms when they were on break. Both ships I’ve been on since they have returned have had maintenance and safety issues so I’m assuming that is the case  staff was wonderful except customer service. The customer service desk was rude and insulting but the rest of the staff was very attentive and helpful. Rooms were clean and the food was good. Anytime dining was very convenient and it was fun to meet new people every night

Great cruise with a few hang ups 

!st Carnival Cruise since pre covid, Platinum status and is no priority boarding. Was directed to Platinum lounge and then not allowed in because a rude lady said it was full. So we boarded with others when our zone was called. We went the same way the other 30 people went to go up the escalator, the same rude lady stopped us after we let 3 wheelchairs go in front of us, she then told us this line was for wheel chairs and would nee to go to the back of the line. A nice lady from Carnival then steeped in and allowed us to go on up. Carnival needs to get boarding under control, it was not bad but can be improved and a lot more welcoming. As far a Platinum and Diamond status your free gift (Lanyard) and ship pin you go to Pixels and ask for them, Free big water bottles now are at any bar, free seaday brunch drink order it and they will take the price off. Chocolate delight you call room service and ask for it.

Embarkation hassle

We have cruised with Carnival before, on the Liberty, and our experience was very good at the time, so we thought the experience would be repeated, hence we chose Carnival again, but this time on the Magic. Totally regret our decision. From the cabin to the food in the Lido Marketplace was all disappointing. See my cabin review for details on the cabin. As for the food in the Lido marketplace, there was no variety at all.At any given meal, there were 27 containers of salads and salad toppings. One section had literally 3 types of cold cuts and 3 types of sliced cheese. Then the actual food section had only 8 items - not much choice at all. The desserts were just cakes. No caramel pudding, etc. The fruits were standard four - water melon, cantaloupe, Honey dew and Pineapple. There was an occasional banana, apples and grapes and breakfast time. The bananas went out of stock quickly. They would not replenish it. Even food items would run short and they simply said there was no more. The placement of the food items were bad as we had to stretch to reach the farther end to grab something, so much so, it was impossible at times and we had to rely on the staff to serve us. Especially the bacon was kept out of reach. Terrible. The staff did not have smiles on their faces and they didn't look happy at all. Rarely would any of them even wish you when they crossed you. The floors in the Lido Marketplace were slippery as ice. It was very difficult to walk on. Strangely, on the last day of the cruise the floors were great. The entertainment shows like Flick was stale. We seen the exact same thing 2 years ago, on the Liberty. Their entertainment has not changed. Same shows, same mega parties, same songs. This means that if you do one Carnival cruise you have done them all. Overall, the experience was not satisfying and was more disappointing, so much so, we may never cruise with Carnival again.

Poor standard of quality

This was my first time at the Carnival cruise, I always go by Royal Caribbean or Norwegian.. I was mad at the first day with the delay and all the mess while we were waiting to board, but as soon as we understand the problem and how Carnival Magic treat us everything change because they were so nice and polite , always ready and willing to help us..and once we were aboard it was so beautiful and amazing .I am very surprise with the attention and good service from the crew.. at the Restaurant I always will remember them they were so nice .. I love the show time please never change those good and amazing shows .. people like Daria, Floyd, Charles , Dary and much more always will be in my heart they were so nice with us during the whole trip.I also love the Spanish music at night Just please could you leave for every night during the trip it was really fun Spanish people love to DANCE. The cabin was always clean and at the time of disembarkation was nice and smoothly everybody was happy and the crew did a very good job to made the process fun and nice... I really love all the entertainments .. I love this Ship i really recommended Carnival Cruise to everybody,, the food is amazing , and delicious . the whole trip was just perfect.

Beautiful and amazing experience with a nice and gently crew always ready.

Although embarkment was rough, it was an overall great experience. The ship before us caused us to be delayed for several hours (which wasn't normal). We got over that pretty quickly once we had a yummy cocktail in hand. My husband and I ate at the steakhouse the first night which was AMAZING! The food and service was outstanding. There were long lines for the buffet so we ate at the dining room every other night which was also outstanding. We were in and out with happy bellies. We bought the drink package (recommended!) and therefore spent a lot of time at the pool and casino bar. The bartenders were fun, outgoing and friendly! Especially Tuty, back pool bar! We got a couples massage and I got a facial. Both incredible. There are plenty of jacuzzi's on ship. Oh, and the MUSIC! The music was AMAZING! Such good talent! Comedy shows were fun and so was the Lip Sync battle on the last night. I, obviously, have many compliments to pay to this ship. My one complaint would be the pools. I was hoping for larger pools or an adult only pool.  I am ready to book another trip on this same ship!

Overall experience was outstanding!

It was fun until time to get off the boat.  That was slow and tedious 

The dinning room service and food were very good and an enjoyable experience. The room service was always on time.  They now charge for items that  were includied it n the past.  The shows and comedy where very entertaining.  The late night snack have become less.  The pizza lines were too long but got 5 bucks you can get delivered anywhere on the ship which was nice.  Overall nice but they are cutting back from previous years   The bar service was good and the room stewards were very attentive.  The cabin was distrust upon arrival and when we contacted the room staff they came quickly and cleaned and dusted everything.  The turn down service was nice too   The show room always had a nice place to sit and good sound system.  The comedy club and piano bar err two of my favorite things to visit

Spring 19

My family has been on a couple Carnival cruises before this one. I've broken up the main categories into subsections. Go straight to the bottom for a review of the Cheers drink package.

[Ship]

Although the Magic is one of Carnival's larger ship sizes many of the places people like to congregate for shows or activities are easily accessible and packed close together so you don't have to travel long distances in order to get where you want. Having a bigger ship also means more fun activity options are available and despite having more people on-board you won't find most locations are overly crowded by any means.

[Cabin]

The cabin sizes are relatively small, however they have everything you need for sleeping arrangements, decent bathrooms, and good shelf/cupboard space. Realistically, if you're living out your cruise to the max you won't be spending much time in the cabin other than changing/sleeping. I will say that the furniture could use an update.

[Dining]

Any of the sit down dining options on-board the Magic are delicious. I definitely recommend making reservations for any of the "non-included" dinner options like the steakhouse or the Italian restaurant as they were amazing and well worth it. One thing to note if you ever order steak- request your rarity one step above what you normally would. More than once on our last cruise a medium rare request would come out almost entirely red. Guys Burger Joint and the Pizzeria were very tasty.

[Entertainment and Activities]

Lots and lots of options here. You would have a difficult time not being able find something interesting going on every hour from the early morning all the way until very late (1-2 AM). The musicians are very talented, the comedians always have the crowds in stitches. Important to note that the pools are generally quite busy. Adults have a pretty easy out by just going to the 21 and over Serenity deck (no pool but a couple good tubs) where its not as bad and nice to meet new people. We didn't have any kids in our party but it was easy to see that there were a number of activities each day catered towards kids and youth that were fun and engaging.

[Service]

The staff aboard our Carnival Magic cruise were excellent. Always helpful, and very professional. The staff working behind the bars and at eateries were especially amazing when it came to being efficient and polite even during very busy times. We didn't encounter many long lines and when we did, they moved at a good pace. Cleaning services were great as well. When people were done eating and left plates/cutlery out in the main eating areas they were always cleaned up quickly and effectively. Cabin stewards were very kind and did a great job keeping cabins tidy and restocking towels, toilet paper etc.

[Ports and Shore Excursions]

Our ports were Grand Cayman, Roatan (Mahogany Bay), Belize and Cozumel. Tenders were required for Grand Cayman and Belize. We did excursions on the first two and I heavily recommend the ATV Jungle Tour as it was very fun and the local staff that brought us around were incredible. Belize and Cozumel we just walked around the port areas and did some shopping. The Belize port was not the greatest. It required a tender to reach and it was effectively just a small compound with a lackluster selection of shops. It absorbed more time and energy to visit than it was probably worth rather than just saving for Cozumel the next day. Cozumel was fantastic and had so much more to view and explore. There's generally more than enough time to get done everything you want to do at each port and we found ourselves even returning to the ship a bit early a couple days.

[Cheers Drink Package]

Yup. This has its own category because it ended up being one of the bigger annoyances of our cruise experience. So a no-frills summary of the drink package goes as follows: for about $56 USD per day for each adult in your room, you get up to 15 alcoholic (unlimited non-alcoholic) drinks per person each day. On average that means having about at least 8-9 drinks a day gets you your moneys worth. Honestly a great deal and as we tend to start our days with Irish coffee and coast through the day on cold beers it was a no-brainer to try it out. In the end we saved a tonne of money by using this package but here is the annoying part. If you do hit 15 drinks on any given day, you aren't allowed to purchase any more alcoholic beverages for the remainder of the day. It makes perfect sense to limit the number of "included" drinks per day, but then not to restrict the customer from wanting to purchase additional drinks for regular charge. Anybody who doesn't get the drink package is allowed to buy any number of alcoholic beverages that they want, for the entirety of every day. Even if it's supposed to be a deterrent for those sharing their included drinks with non-Cheers people it really wouldn't work because the non-Cheers people could just take over and buy drinks afterwards anyways. All it does is inconvenience the groups of people who go all in on the drink package.  Overall review of the drink package- definitely worth it if you're a heavy drinker or enjoy sipping on cocktails all day long, but Carnival really has to change their policy on post-limit drink purchasing.

Great experience - but with a few small things here and there.

We left from Miami.  They were not following any boarding zones.  I heard that customs held up letting people off the ship before us.  So the line to board was long but it went fairly quickly.   

We enjoyed the ship.  Water slides and ropes course were fun for kids.  Pools were never too crowded but hot tubs were.   

Food was all pretty good.  There were long lines on the lido deck.  Guys burger line moved quickly.  Pizza line did not.   They could use one or two more workers there.  Two just isn't enough.   We had great service in the main dining room and enjoyed our meals each night.   We also enjoyed breakfast and brunch in the main dining room.   

We had great weather and enjoyed our time on the 4 islands.   Getting on and off the ship was easy.   The only carnival tour we did was to the ruins in Belize since they are so far away.   Everything else we did on our own.

Overall we had a good time on the ship.  I wouldn't do spring break again since its more expensive and a bit more crowded.

Good time on Magic for Spring Break

My family and I went on our 4th Spring Break cruise on the Carnival Magic.  We left from Miami.  We left on a Sunday and parking at the cruise terminal took forever as it was at capacity from all the ships that had let on Saturday.  Once parked, we basically walked on the ship.  We had FTTF and went right to our room to drop off our carry on bags.  Our Sign and Sale cards were already there and our room was already ready.  We were on the Lido deck, our favorite location.  We walked out and got our first Guy's Burger with no lines at all.  After exploring the ship we had our muster in the theater (inside muster, yay!) We had the sail away party and then went back to our room.  Our bags ere there and we unpacked.  The kids went up to the sports deck where they hung out most of the cruise while sailing.  We cruise for the ports and had stops in Grand Cayman, Roatan, Belize and Cozumel.  Our first sea day we played on the ship, played our only Bingo game and ate at Guys Smokehouse BBQ which was delicious.  In Grand Cayman we had a private car and brought our own snorkeling gear and snorkeled Cemetery Beach and Macabuca and then dined at a local restaurant.  Roatan, we went with Rony's tours and had a driver who gave us a tour of the island, visited Manawakie Park where we had sloth and monkey encounters and ate waterfront. Belize we did an incredible shark/ray alley snorkel trip with Coral Breeze. This was a highlight of the trip.  And Cozumel we went with Tours Plaza and had a driver take us to El Mirador and Punta Sur where we enjoyed the gorgeous beach and saw wild crocodiles.  The CD, MarQ was very good as was the fun staff.  We played a lot of trivia and games with the fun staff and enjoyed most of the shows.  We only went to one comedy show with the kids and it wasn't too funny.  The comic said he had a hard time doing PG shows... Anytime dining was great.  We had a wonderful waiter, Juanito, that we requested every night.  We never had a wait for a table and the food was always good.  We ate once in the Italian restaurant, and it the service was awful.  We had long waits between ordering and courses and dirty dishes were left on our table forever.  No one even came to offer us dessert and we left.  I would have given them 5 stars except for the bad service in this extra charge restaurant.  Disembarkation was also super fast with FTTF.  We basically took our bags and walked off the ship.  Overall we totally enjoyed our Carnival Cruise yet again.  The best value and friendliest crew.
