Disappointed

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Carnival Elation

My daughter chose this cruise for her wedding and was truly disappointed her honey moon was ruined.. We were suppose to go to Amber Cove and Turk but on the second day of a 5 day cruise we were told that because of of hurricane Jerry we would not be making our destination which is understandable but later that day we were given a memo saying it was because the ship wasn't working correctly. We ...

Not as bad as everyone says.

The Carnival Elation is not as bad as everyone keeps saying. Yes, it is older, smaller, a little worn, a few outdated styles & can feel the waves a bit more than the bigger ships, but I enjoyed the smaller ship with less people on it. I would recommend staying an extra night in San Juan at the Fortaleza suites & explore a bit. The hotel was an experience in itself. We also used Batey Zipline ...

SO SO

Was not very elated with the Carnival Elation. We chose this cruise because of the itinerary, 4 ports we had not been to yet. Embark was quick...and pretty painless. They need a new cruise director that might add some lido sea day activities.....absolutely nothing going on....quite frankly...could hardly understand what he was saying when he did come on the speaker.....quite boring. Food was ...

Older Ship, but still very nice.

The Elation is a somewhat dated ship, and some of the amenities on other Carnival ships are not present on the Elation. Things such as more intimate dining, and some other eateries. As always, he staff were excellent. This was a longer cruise, and after a few days, the food seemed to be a little repetitive. The comedy shows, music, and production shows were all ok. I have seen many of the ...

This was the Elation's initial cruise to its new port, Jacksonville, Fl.

This was the Elation's initial cruise to it's new port Jacksonville, Fl. my home town. Our recent ten night cruise on The Elation was a disappointment. Our cabin M-182 was unbelievably noisy , Guest Services was very hard to reach and indifferent. I found the general condition of the ship in need of some tender loving care. The cabin closet and cabinets were the cheapest I have seen in 60+ ...

10 Day Journey Cruise to the Southern Caribbean

My partner and I have done 10+ cruises on several other cruise lines including Holland America, Princess, Royal Caribbean, and a few others. This Exotic Sothern Caribbean itinerary took us to ports I had never visited. I set my expectations low based on the recent reviews and the general negativity about Carnival from past cruise mates. I am glad to say that we were extremely pleased with this ...

This was my first cruise , and ....It really depends what you want. I am a person who wants to relax and enjoy beach, pool and not to worry . Just calm and quiet family vacations. I came to conclusion that cruise is not for me. But please don't think I had a negative experience. If you want a party style, friendly people, dance, good food and some gambling, this is defiantly for you ( other ...

A decent vacation for the price

This was my third cruise with Carnival and it was OK; a bit above average ... but that is all. We were really needing to get away for a vacation (it had been several years since we had gotten away) so at the point we were at in our lives, anything was a welcome change. The port in New Orleans is an easy-on / easy-off kind of place and the porters really make the difference here. Tip them $1 a bag ...

Elation For the New Year!

I found the reviews to be so helpful, prior to my trip. So I decided to pass along my experience on the Carnival Elation. We left out of New Orleans, January 2,2014. The staff at the terminal get a big A++. They are very helpful. I will break down my experience into the following: the ship, the staff, dining, the port, the cabin and the activities on board. THE SHIP: The ship is beautiful. There ...

We had a family reunion on the Elation bringing my two grandchildren, 5 and 8, their parents (30ish), my husband and I, and his two older children (college age). We selected the ship for the value. The boat itself is lovely and in excellent condition. The ports of call were Cozumel (yeh) and Progresso (boo). They would be better to spend 2 days in Cozumel than go to Progresso as it is an awful ...
