Larger ship but a downgrade from past Carnival experiences.

We chose this cruise for our grandson's 6th birthday; we got a really good price and have sailed Carnival 4 times before. We were interested to explore the larger Carnival Dream. It really is a large ship but the layout makes it seem cramped in most areas. The pools are EXTREMELY small - 2 of them that only accommodate 17 people each! They looked like "people soup" most of the time. The ...

Fine ship and experience - Better trip than a similar one on Carnival Magic

2-5 Cruises

Age 40s

My husband and I and two of our friends decided to sail out of New Orleans on Carnival Dream, after having experienced a similar itinerary via Carnival Magic out of Galveston in March of 2015 - Our experience was, for the most part, even better on the older sister 'Dream' - The food and service was a step up or two on this latest cruise, and the main shows/entertainment was actually far ...

This was my 4th cruise, first on the Dream. Went on this cruise to help celebrate my sister n law wedding. Had a great time! First off I want to thank our deck server Edgar Rojas. He went over and beyond his duty to make sure our group of 20+ were taken care of! Our dinning staff was just as friendly and helpful along with the cabin attendant! Overall the cruise was great! The only ...

This was my 5th cruise and my husband's 6th. By far, the Carnival Dream was our favorite ship! We had an interior state room and for the 2 of us it was perfect. There was plenty of closet space, the bathroom was the perfect layout and the bed (as always) was very comfortable. We were in a Spa Interior so we also got to use the Spa amenities. The Thalassotherapy Pool was amazing along with the ...

We got an amazing players club deal out of New Orleans and took off on a 7 day cruise to Key West, Freeport and Nassau. The only real cons of the trip were OBC and the weather (Not a Carnival issue - it's a January issue!). Windy and cool on the ship meant little time for any quality sun bathing, but heck, a chilly day on a cruise if better than a good day at work. Best days for sunshine were ...

I have traveled alot and I have never written a review however I felt I should for this trip. First, the interior rooms were tiny. A queen bed with 2 fold down bunks from the ceiling with uncomfortable mattresses. I hit my head on the bunk so many times that my friends started joking about brain damage. One time I hit my head so hard it nearly knocked me out. Tall people should absolutly avoid the ...

This was our second cruise on the Carnival line, first on the Dream. After our experience on the Carnival Dream, we will never sail Carnival again. Food was sub-par. What was being served in the buffet was being served in the restaurant. Came back to the ship, at approx. 3:30 p.m., after a day in port to discover they were closing the buffet. Really, close the buffet when everyone is coming back ...

If you hate crowds and long lines, then this might not be the ship (or cruise line) for you. However, here are some tips to avoid the worst parts: - Avoid the buffet area ("The Gathering", "Pasta Bella") altogether. The food there is not worth the wait in line. - For breakfast, go to the sit-down brunch in the Scarlet dining room - For lunch, skip the buffet and grab a burger or pizza ...

We just returned from a great cruise on the carnival dream. It was myself my husband our 2 year old daughter, my parents, my two sisters and my 3 year old nephew. We all had balcony rooms on deck 10 and 11. Embarkation was a breeze we got there right at 11 and we moved right through I'm glad we didn't buy the FTTF pass because we didn't really need it and our rooms were ready right when we got on ...

I am so excited about my adventure. It was more than I had hoped for. The food, entertainment and staff were excellent. The professionalism and courtesy of the entire staff was wonderful. I enjoyed this cruise so much until I have already planned my next one. Thank you Carnival Dream Team for your efforts and dedication to each passenger. The cabins were always maintained and cleaned twice ...
