Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Carnival Dream

This was our third cruise with Carnival and by far the most disappointing. I do not say not to cruise Carnival but I wouldn't cruise this ship again. For those who have cruised before normally the ship is constantly being cleaned either by the hand rails being wiped down, elevator buttons being cleaned or the floors being vacuumed. I rarely seen this happening durning the time we were on the ship. ...

Fantastic Girls Trip!

Embarkation was a breeze and actually quite exciting. The cruise line personnel were extremely friendly, organized and informational. It took only about forty-five minutes from when we left the parking garage to sitting on the Lido Deck! Disembarkation was smooth as well. This was a "girls" trip and we had a wonderful time. We chose aft balcony rooms and they were quite spacious and the decks ...

Carnival Dream Review - June 5-12, 2016 - just returned Before I start the review, let me say that after 18 cruises, this was BY FAR the absolute BEST cruise we've had....the CD/staff/entertainment/casino/customer service, etc on the Dream was TOP NOTCH!! It was the most organized embarkation and debarkation of ANY port! Now, having said that, I'm going to make some reflections on some things ...

A Dream of Average!

This was our 2nd time on the Dream, with the first being last year. They changed the menu this year and for us it wasn't for the better. you have the standard pizza & ice cream that you can't go wrong and the Salad buffet gave plenty of choices but the dining room was just average this time around. The Cruise Director Brandon was pretty good, the comedy was above average, but the shows ...

Our cabin, 6444, was directly above the Calinte Night Club. The pounding sound from the subwoofer started every night at 10:30 and would continue non-stop until 2 or 3 a.m. the following morning. Don't ask me why they don't have the night club on an upper deck! The food and food selection in the buffet was very poor and the manner/methods used to display it is even worse. For instance, ...

I totally believe you get what you pay for. Being avid and seasoned cruisers (19+ times on Royal, Celebrity, Norwegian, Princess, Holland America), this has to be the worse cruise overall that my wife and I have ever been on! Our choice was made because it was a 10 day cruise. We picked up the ship in San Juan and were finished with the embarkation by noon. The welcome aboard lunch was so-so but, ...

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Dream

The ship was very nice although the décor was a little outdated - reminded me of the 70's! We stayed in an inside cabin, was adequate. The steward was fantastic as was all the other crew members. We had early dining so that we could catch many of the shows, however, since service was slow, we did miss a few shows since once they start , the doors are locked and you cannot enter late. ...

I read some of the other reviews and cannot believe we were on the same cruise. While the other reviewers were unhappy, we had a very good experience. We have taken numerous cruises on Royal Carribean, Norwegian, Holland America, and Carnival. The Jan. 14 cruise on Carnival Dream was very good. We had a balcony stateroom. The attendant, Rommel, was excellent. It would have been helpful to ...

We sailed on the first half of the Journey's cruise - embarked in New Orleans, disembarked and then flew home from San Juan. Have gold status with carnival and have sailed on a number of other carnival cruises. This by far was our least favorite in terms of the ship, the dining experience, and the service onboard. Here is a rundown of our memories from the Dream: -no turndown service or ...

Dream vs Valor, no contest

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Carnival Dream

User Avatar

After cruising on the Valor for two years we had something to compare with the Dream. We found the Dream's entertainment, employee attitude, food, food service and ship management inferior to the Valor. We were disappointed with the overall experience. To be more specific, the dining room (open seating) tables were setup so as to prevent socializing, bar service was non-existence and ...
