We took the cruise from Boston, MA, USA to St. John, New Brunswick and Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada on July 9, 2013 on the Glory. As Platinum level cruisers, those cruisers who took 10 or more cruises on Carnival Cruise Lines under the old requirement, we pretty much new what to expect regarding priority boarding and on-board ship amenities. On this cruise we booked a suite in room 7272 on deck ...
I knew what we were getting into. My wife and I wanted a short getaway out of Manhattan. Not too many choices.
We'd sailed on the Glory before which is a perfectly functional Carnival ship. I'm platinum, she's gold so there were no surprises on this ship. We sailed on her about 5 years ago. Two new additions are the Guy's Hamburger place and a burrito bar on 9. Didn't eat at either but passengers ...
This was my first cruise with Carnival, I have previously sailed with Princess and Royal Caribbean, but generally select an itinerary, and a time frame and see who's going where I want to go at that time. We chose Carnival this time because they were sailing Canada & New England in July, and most others sail this itinerary in the fall months, so it was good fit. The price was also very good, so we ...
Most memorable: We went on the July 14-21 cruise. As it was our wedding anniversary, I booked a cake for the July 14 dinner. The dinner service was very slow. When he main entree was served, I asked the waiter about the cake. He was completely unaware of the cake order. When they finally resolved the cake order, the dinner service was over and the PA announced we should leave the dinning room. We ...
Just returned from our July 9th Glory cruise. We enjoyed the cruise in spite of heavy fog and many happy families with many kids who pushed occupancy to 120%. The food , staff ,cabins and entertainment were good and sometimes great.
Unlike previous cruises, this one was booked and planned with a minimum of fuss. It was a cheap cruise that we could drive to Perfect! We booked a park & stay deal ...
Note: The room I stayed in, 9201, is a 6K Scenic Grand Ocean View stateroom, but that category was not an option when I submitted this review. There is a world of difference between the 6J and 6K rooms. Well, actually only about 90 square feet, but I imagine that a 6J room would have felt much different.
The bed/s in the 6K rooms face/s the windows, there was a lot more room for the rest of my ...
We chose this cruise for it's itinerary. We had the Captain's Suite which is the highest category on the ship. It cost me $6800 for 5 days. I was told that we would not have a butler but would have a concierge....NOT. We had 5 people in the fairly spacious room. The master bathroom was in the hallway so we had no privacy. We had 3 glasses in the room and when I asked the room steward for more ...
Traveling: 2 ladies in mid 50's. This was my 37th cruise, it was my friends 3rd cruise. My 2nd on Carnival, her first. My last Carnival Cruise was 30 years ago. I am elite on Princess and diamond on Royal Caribbean. I also enjoy Celebrity.
I live in CT, so I drove to the pier in Boston. I picked up my friend at the airport. The airport is less than 10 minutes from the pier and is very convenient. ...
We cruised on the Glory from 6/4/13 until 6/9/13. My wife and I were in an "L" shaped Balcony Cabin 6481 and my Daughter (first time cruiser) and First Cousin were in an "L" shaped Balcony Cabin 6473. The Cabins were clean and roomy. The Balcony is HUGE. No couch though, so it only sleeps 2. Although these are over the Promenade Deck the noise level in 6481 was minimal. It was louder in 6473 ...
I wanted to book a quick get away for our 20th wedding anniversary. It needed to be quick because we have kids (who usually come with us) that we were leaving behind. Sailing out of Boston on a 4 night cruise was the perfect choice since it is a fairly easy drive for us to the port. While we are far from seasoned cruisers, we have sailed on RCCL 4 times in the past, and once on Disney. This was ...
