Carnival Canada & New England Cruise Reviews

Great meeting this guy, humble and transparent. He just knows what he's doing. As I said,if He is not your cruise activity director, just ask for a refund lol. He's that good.

Fantastic Crew Saves Cruise from Being Disaster

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Carnival Splendor

We planned this cruise for more than a year to celebrate our retirement so we were really looking forward to it. I wish I could rate it better for the sake of the outstanding crew, but it was a bit of a disappointment. Not everything was bad, but the overall cruise was mediocre. It started at embarkation. We arrived at the port around 11:45 and dropped off our luggage without any problems. ...

A cruise for 80 year olds; beware.

Well, let's start with the good: food was mediocre, dining room service was excellent when they remembered what we ordered, the casino.....ok so that's about it. Now the bad: there were more canes, wheelchairs and walkers than in a nursing home, with that being said, Carnival should know their clientele and not play Pink or Lady Gaga on the big screen or play nightly Marvel Comics movies. When ...

Not Our Idea of Fun

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Carnival Splendor

What is this obsession with fun? And why do Carnival think that loud pop music, gambling and smoking constitute fun? And what is a fun shop? It's just a shop! Perhaps it is just cultural thing because we were Brits on an American ship but we definitely will not be going with Carnival again. The ship is clean and we enjoyed the ports visited but we would no more choose this type of cruise ...

My wife (Cunard-1, Carnival-3 cruises) and I (Cunard-1, Carnival-2 cruises) are 44 and 47 and we sailed without the kids for our 10th anniversary celebration. We drove to New York from the Toronto, Canada area and found cheap ($10 a day) parking at Journal Square (Park'n'Save) in New Jersey which is a dramatic savings from the $35/day that Carnival offers next door. It was a reasonable 60 minute ...

Very good except for the food

I had been on the Carnival Legend twice 2003 and 2004. I didn't find the Splendor to be as outdated and worn as some of the reviews I read on this site. Embarkation was very smooth and went pretty fast. We were on the ship be about 1:15. The cabins were almost ready. We went to have lunch on the Lido deck. My first disappointment was the food selection. It looks as though Carnival is ...

Splendor Not So Splendid

This will have been about our 15th cruise. We have sailed various cruise lines, Carnival being our most frequent. Embarkation was quick and efficient. Lunch in the Lido was the usual. My issues begin with the Cruise Director. He made the announcement for the Safety Drill in a rude and condensating manner. All through the cruise he demonstrated lack of people skills. He had to be the worst Cruise ...

This was my fourth cruise and my second experience with Carnival (previously cruised with them in 2009). I made my choice based on New England/Canadian itinerary and positive reviews I read about the ship. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience. The Splendor is clean, well maintained, and beautiful in that over-the-top way only a cruise ship can pull off. The crew is friendly, professional, and ...

We booked a cruise on Splendor after enjoying a trip on Pride. Splendor is quite a bit larger, and the ship moves easily through the water, with little motion. But the overall experience was nowhere near as good as Pride. Food was just terrible! Entertainment as good as Pride. ...

My wife and I are frequent cruisers and this is our second voyage on the Carnival Splendor and our twelfth cruise with Carnival which makes us VIFP with Platinum status. As such, embarkation was a breeze and our stateroom was ready for us to drop off our luggage within 15 minutes of arrival at the port. Generally speaking, the Splendor is an older ship which has not yet seen the 2.0 upgrade and ...

Our Adventures on the Carnival Splendor

The Carnival Splendor was sold to us as a "party ship"! Two comments: 1. It was definitely NOT a party ship. (We are not spring chickens but the majority of the passengers on board had difficulty keeping up) 2. "Hurry up and wait" We took My Time Dining option. We had to wait 25 minutes on average to get seated and the service was extremely poor. Whist the food was generally good, it ...
