Fun Ship. Good for under 40's. Not so much or older cruisers other than those who love countless varieties of trivia.
Deck 7 cabin was adequate and very quiet. Larger balcony than normal. Bed was hard which may suit some but not those side-sleepers with dodgy lower backs.
Most staff were friendly as expected.
Tyler the cruise director was one of the best and involved we have ...
The ship fitout is very nice, with polished stone everywhere and lovely light fittings etc.
The theatre especially, is very nice with plenty of room and small tables for drinks.
The entertainment, however, was appalling.
The performers were mediocre at best, and the lighting was atrocious, with extremely bright lights aimed right into the eyes of the audience giving blinding flashes ...
We went on this cruise to see if Carnival had lifted their game since our trans-Pacific cruise last year. Some things were an improvement, but some sadly not.
To start with (and I know it's probably beyond Carnival's control, but it's part of the experience) the boarding process was heavenly compared with last year's three hour queue. We dropped off our large bag, then walked into the ...
Choose this cruise for a short break and it served its purpose.
Had a nice balcony cabin (Deck 8) although some noise from deck nine, buffet dining, was a bit annoying.
Food and service was OK, not the best, but far from being the worst.
One big disappointment was the shore excursions.
1. Luecila Beach and Scenic, Overpriced and definitely not what its advertised as.
Paid A$114 ...
Chose this cruise from Brisbane up to Airlie Beach , Cairns & Port Douglas back to Brisbane interesting as it had just done a 30 day cruise from Los Angelos to Brisbane so for our cruise there were 600 Americans on board , the passengers were a mix of middle age to older passengers no yobos or Bogans on board .
Our cabin was good even thou it was classified as an interior cabin it had a full ...
We were looking for a relaxing short getaway where we did not have to drive, or make too many decisions. The idea of having a short cruise with everything included was attractive to us.
We saw the cruise offer on the RACQ website and it seemed good value, considering the time of year(Feb 2023).
We understood that the weather this time of year could be unpredictable but we’re prepared to take ...
We choose this ship because we were under the impression that it had been newly renovated and the itinerary it was our first Carnival Cruise, been on quite a few cruises before, but really couldn’t see where it had been renovated, rooms very dated and old looking we thought we would spoil ourselves and get a Suite 7312 what a mistake the room was a lot bigger but the lounge was converted to a ...
Carnival Spirit review 12-11-22
Boarding pretty good, smooth and fast except for a long wait sitting at one point in the process. 10 am check-in time but not onboard till 11.
Cabin 5231
Jay our room steward very nice and did a great job.
Room ok but both of us hit tv shelf with head ouch.
Thermostat difficult.
Cabin Door very very heavy.
Nice bathroom, good counter and ...
NZ cruises are normally a lot more money, so we jumped onto this. FOOD was good and varied with USA style bbq and Chinese being very popular also great grilled sandwiches. Beer is reasonably priced when you purchase 6 in a bucket @ 7.50 each. While spirits a bit expensive @ 12 or 13 dollars ea. Good entertainment for a budget cruise. The theatre has room for small drink tables and was quite ...
We are past Carnival cruisers and Celebrity and Holland America. We picked this cruise for value and convenience. That said I have to say: not what we expected. If we knew these tips we would have been prepared.
Con:
We got two flat hard pillows. Felt like a stack of towels. Only 2! Ask for better pillows right away. We couldn’t get into our cabin until 45 minutes or so after the ...
