Our cabin was beautiful, plenty of room for 2 adults and 1 "child" (he is 14, but 6'2"!) We enjoyed the sports deck and the multitude of things to do each day. The food, as always, was excellent. I have never had a complaint about Carnival's food. The only problem is, which one should I eat? Great variety! Guy's Burgers were SO yummy, we usually headed there instead of the Marketplace for lunch. The Mexican cafe's tacos and burritos were excellent also. Our room steward was amazing. He took care of all requests without hesitancy. The room was so clean! My private balcony is my favorite part of any cruise, and this time they had a straight back chair, and a chair that lies flat, so I actually was able to take a pillow and beach towel out there and take a nap, waking to the sight of that beautiful ocean! Dinner was also excellent, the waiters were attentive. Mike, the cruise director, was such fun! He is totally crazy (in a good way, of course) and kept us laughing. The different Trivia shows became my favorites, as Mike was always there making us laugh... a lot! Unfortunately, the evening "main" shows were not so great, so we started skipping them. Not a big deal, as there are so many other things to do. Also, embarkation was kind of weird. Why did they make us rush and worry that we would get there exactly between 11-11:30am, only to be made to sit and wait for another 45 minutes before we could go on board? Didn't like that either! The only major complaint was about the Anytime Dining wait. I have never encountered this before and was very disappointed. Almost every night we had to stand in a line, once for 30 minutes, then only to be handed a beeper and told it will be another 20-30 minutes! This was not acceptable and I complained, and we were seated quickly, but that is not how it should work. Next time, I will definitely book a certain time, I just never had this happen before so I didn't know it would be a problem. Other than that, excellent cruise. Read Less

This is a lovely ship, probably the largest we have sailed on in our 30 plus years of cruising. We always go in the spring time and the spring breakers have never bothered us, until this year. And it wasn't the college students you associate with spring break, it was the younger children that are left to their own on the ships and do what any group of kids will do, get into everything. I blame this on their parents. Our embarkation was smooth, we were in the first check in group and being a priority we were on the ship and eating lunch by 11:30. We were in one of the cove balcony rooms for the first time, I loved being so close to the water and you learn to live with the wet floor and the dry salt remaining when the wet dried. I will say they are very private. We had already been to all the stops on this cruise so only booked a tour in La Romana, a visit to a Indian cave which was amazing and huge. There were a lot of stairs but once you get to the bottom they have an elevator to go back up. Grand Turk has the most beautiful waters, Curacao has it's lovely colorful buildings and Aruba is like Arizona with an ocean. The food was good, not too sure about the new american menu but you are not going to starve on a cruise. I didn't mind no tablecloth and actually liked having the water and rolls on the table at all times. The service was extremely slow and when we said something to our waiter they reported it to the matre de, something we would have never done. Disembarkationwas just as easy, we had number two tags and were in our car and leaving the port by 7:10, home at 8:45. I would think twice about going on this large a ship again but who knows, we love Carnival although I think our next couple will be with Holland or Princess, mostly because we want to do a European and Carnival doesn't go there unless they're bringing out a new ship. We have been on many a Carnival cruise and this was our best one yet! The ship is new and has the most thrills of any Carnival ship (not counting Vista soon to be sailing). I'm going to break it down into the sections that are important to us: Embarkation and Disembarkation: The best we've ever had with Carnival. I think this is due to 2 things- we had FTTF and had priority embark and disembark. Also, the enforced check-in made that process so much easier. FTTF was definitely worth it to us despite our room not being ready on time (see below). Service: Service was comparable to most of our other Carnival cruises. The steward was very nice, though she was running behind the first 2-3 days of our cruise. We had FTTF but our cabin was not ready on time. She was very apologetic and let us drop off our carry-ons and we came back an hour later to a clean room. Dining staff was friendly, but slow. We didn't feel like we had to go to the dining room every opportunity as it was so-so in service and just good in food. We especially liked the staff at the Red Frog Pub and Cucina del Capitano in the evening. Very friendly. Restaurants: As stated before, dining room was just ok. We had YTD. The lines were ridiculous- even at 5:45 there was a huge line. I had never experienced such long lines so early before. We liked Red Frog Pub and their snacks were delicious- especially the wings. Lido was good and had plenty of lines and options- we rarely had to wait long in line. Guys Burgers really *is* all that and I"m not even a big burger person! The Cantina is ok but not as good as I was expecting. If you want a quiet continental breakfast, go to Deck 5 Ocean Plaza. It was always quiet there no matter what. Room: Spectacular! Tons of storage for the 4 of us and we rarely ran into each other the way we usually do. The bathroom is a good size with plenty of storage as well. We had a Cove balcony and enjoyed it while in port. Seas were fairly rough most of the cruise, so we couldn't really use it during those times as it was very wet. We did have some noises at night that annoyed us- some clicking and the balcony door didn't seal all the way. Fun and entertainment: We used the sports area often to do mini golf (4 times in a cruise - rarely crowded), bean bag toss, and the sky course. My son did the sky course and it was pretty crowded on the last sea day but not much of a wait. We played games in the Red Frog Pub as well- shuffleboard and foosball. I bought the thrill theater week pass for one son but he only used it once after all. I thought the thrill theater was just jarring- it really jerked me around back and forth and not like a typical motion simulator. Pools were ok, but we didn't use them much. The water slides were fantastic and super fast, but got very crowded by last sea day. One son really enjoyed the water works area. We used Deck 5 a few times to get away from crowds, but there were also plenty of chairs around the Lido area- just have to go up to deck 11 sometimes. There were tons of activities around the ship. Our kids didn't participate in Camp Ocean or Circle C this time around and were still entertained. Ports were great. We didn't do anything in Dominican Republic, but enjoyed the other 3 ports quite a bit. Grand Turk, Curacao, and Aruba area all safe and clean provided you stay in the main areas. Aruba was very windy and we didn't go to the beach there, but heard it was a sandblast. Read Less

Im so used to royal Caribbean and i saw so many negative reviews for carnival breeze. So i was scared to even try, but the price was right so i went ahead and booked it. It was me, my fiance and my son who is 8 years old. This cruise was FUN FUN AND MORE FUN. So much food. Lets start of with the food and drinks. A lot of bards around the ships and we used them a lot lol. The food was amazing in the dinning room and buffet. We had guy burgers which i still dream about till this day. The burrito bar was great to kinda upset we waited to the last day to try it out:( . I took my fiance to the steak house for his bday which was on valetines day. Resturaunt was 5 stars. It was beautiful and they catered us and our needs. The formal night was good also. The food was great and carnival has this thing will they will dance and put on loud music in the dining room whic was very cool. Entertainment was good also but theater entertainment doesn't compare to royal Caribbean. But carnival makes up for it. They have all different activities throughout the ship and the comedy club was FUNNY as hell. DECK PARTIES LOBBY PARTIES everything was great. The room we has was a balcony. Im sorry i wont cruise at less i have a balcony. once to have one you just cant go back. we was on the 9th floor very high up and we felt the ship rocking more then ever but we was towards the front so maybe thats the reason why but still didn't spoil our cruise. The room was kept clean as always. Our cabin cleaner was amazing and he remembered our names. We gave him a tip at the end. The places we went was aruba, grandturk, Dominican republic and curaco. We didn't get to stop at grand turk because of the winds or something. I honestly didnt like Dominican republic like that it was beautiful to where we went which was a all exclusive resort, but getting there i saw alot of poverty which of course they cant help but when im on vacation i dont want to experience sadness or feeling sad for somebody i live in new york i see enough of that. aruba and curaco was beautiful and the people was so friendly. a lot to see and do. KIDS program was amazing keeping my son occupied and happy. We barley saw him he wanted to stay and play. They have the pools and slides for the kids. Just a lot of different activities for families. You can drop your kids off at the program and they have very long hours so you have a great deal of time to yourself! OVERALL this trip was amazing. everything wasn't perfect but hey that life. My suggestion to you if your uptight, and just negative stay away from carnival. carnival is really the fun ship not fancy but for people who love to have fun Read Less

Embarkation and Debarkation were very easy. Dining was acceptable. We always eat early dining in MDR and it used to be impeccable. No more. Service was slow and even slower on elegant nights. It took 45 minutes before someone took our order. Dinner took 3 hours! Missed the Comedian and Stage Show. The MDR food used to be excellent; now it's just alright. Food usually cold or overcooked. Same vegetables (sides) offered every night. Seems Carnival wants to force you to pay more for good service and food. The Chef's Table was awesome! $75 per person. Bonsai Sushi is excellent as well! Roughly $10-$15 per person. Did not make it to steakhouse. Again, sad I'm forced to pay for good service and food. Love the beautiful ProPortraits taken on ship but hate the outrageous prices. Do not like Carnival's buying incentives. One must spend over $300 before you get a real deal. Ended up buying three pictures + CD (to make my own copies) for $99 and received no freebie. Met a lot of nice cruisers and some not so nice. Since it was Spring Break, kids outnumbered adults. No problem for me, but many kids over 12 did not go to camp, so many tend to run the ship unsupervised and were rude and cursing. Don't know what to do about that, but it's there. Great times at Piano Bar with Ben and with guitarists Matt and Amy in the Red Frog Pub. Didn't get a chance to see comedians, as dinner ran late, then lines out the door for late seating. (HATE lines.) Ports: Did not port in Grand Turk as the winds made it unsafe to dock. So sad, but nothing you could do about it. Stayed onboard for La Romana; no lines and plenty of chairs. In Curacao we dove with Bas Diving. We enjoyed SUP with Aruba Adventures (down on Palm Beach behind the Ritz). Larsen, our cabin steward, was the BEST! He cleaned up our mess everyday, made sure we had ice in our cabin, and met us with a pleasant smile everyday. Can't say enough good things about him. Thank you Larsen! This was our second time on Breeze. First time in July 2014. We enjoyed the Breeze both times but might stick to the smaller vessels for Spring Break. Read Less

I saved for a year and planned an epic vacation journey for me and my family aboard the carnival breeze, we were on an 8 day sailing to Aruba, Grand Turk, La Dominica, & Curacao. This is our sixth sailing with carnival and we continue to come back because the prices are affordable. We booked room 7266 a balcony room that slept 4 people. We started with flying in the day before and spending the day at Universal Studios let me save you a ton of money and hassle save the money. In order to get the full universal experience that you read about online you have to buy tickets for two separate theme parks as well as the first in line tickets so taking the daily admission price of around $100 per person to almost $300 per person. Otherwise you will only get to ride on 1/2 the advertised rides and for the good ones the lines were over 1 hour on a Friday, I could only imagine what the weekend would be. Wish we went to the beach and saved that money for the ship. Carnival has sped up the curb to ship experience since the last time we sailed from Miami it took us about 1 hour to get on board and to our surprise the room was ready so we could drop off our carry on luggage. They also have an app called "the hub" which has the fun times on your cell phone, maps of the ship, and a communication tool (only if you are over 12) to keep in touch with each other. The cabin was what you saw on the internet clean, and enough room for a family of four. We had booked the Dolphin experience in La Dominica, Jeep excursion in Aruba, and the UTV excursion in Curacao. The Jeep experience in Aruba is the only one that lived up to exceptions an it was a fun 4 hours and a good way to bounce around and see the island. Our guide made the drive fun and gave us a lot of information about the island. The UTV excursion was so so it had a lot of street riding and not as much places to take photographs you basic nose to but tour. The biggest waste of money was the dolphin encounter at La Dominica it is over 1 hour away on a bus ride no one spoke English and we rode in silence when you got there no one gave you instruction as to what to do or where to go. The time with the dolphins was good but they are out to sell you a photo CD for several hundred dollars and since you can't take your own photo's they have you over a barrel. We didn't know what to do after the dolphins was there and we didn't want to miss the tour bus so we went back to the bus and waited another 80 minutes in the bus to leave. Honestly I would just stay on the ship at this port. The ship itself is great, the BBQ is not worth waiting in line for and the guy's burgers are decent but not to die for like some reviews on line make them out to be. The shows were sub par compared to previous cruises we had been on and only about 50% of the comedy shows were funny. The thing that rubbed me the wrong was was the lack of service on this ship. Everyone did just the bare minimum so that you could not complain, no one seemed happy about their jobs or being there. Usually when you walk down the hall on a "fun ship" the crew goes out of their way to say hi but I would greet staff members and they would not respond and turn their heads. I only saw our cabin steward once the whole trip and he did not know my name only a few nites were there towel animals, something my kids really like. If you are a first time cruiser you will probably not notice but having been a bunch of carnival ships the staff is generally over friendly. We spent the final two days of our trip at the Disney magic kingdom and although expensive I felt I got my moneys worth at that park. Another negative is we all came home with the flu from the trip and 4 days later we are still not over it. Read Less
