We chose this ship for location and departure date. Luckily we had 4 stops so that made the ship more bearable. You can only go down the slides so many times. The kids club was ok. The best food was all of Guy's stops. The Pig and Anchor was not open every day and for lunch only. The pizza and deli would be lifesavers when burgers and tacos were closed. Amber Cove was a nice stop with the pool as we disembarked. We have visited San Juan numerous times so we like to go and visit the cat shelter there near the fort. Grand Turk was another reason for this ship and it was a huge disappointment. We did a beach excursion and a huge waste of money. The service was incredibly slow, I went to find my own beach umbrella. The food included in the buffet was terrible. There is a nice pool/beach area as soon as you get off the ship (free). St. Thomas was a nice visit as well. This cruise served the purpose of date/itinerary. Carnival is our least favorite cruise line - we love Disney and Royal Caribbean. Read Less

We chose this cruise for the itinerary, and port locations. I made the mistake of thinking all "spring breaks" would be over this last week of March. I was wrong. Note to everyone, do not cruise in March, unless you have kids and love kids. I was shocked how many kids were on this cruise. The lack of parenting was atrocious. Ship is just like the "Magic" with a little different decor and a few different restaurant choices. Entertainment wasn't that great. However, The "Lip Sync Battle" final production on Saturday was fun to watch. Bar Service was great. Smile, be nice, be patient and you will get good service. Reverse all that and I can assure you, you will not get good service. Cruise director Lee was good. We enjoyed his antics. I have to give a shout out to "Laz" from England. He was on the "Fun Staff" He should and deserves to be a Cruise Director. He was fantastic and very entertaining. Always had a huge, happy crowd at his activities. Also, Miss "Iowa" .... was superb as well. Sorry I can't remember her name. Thank you Galveston for changing the 'embarkation' procedures. it is much easier to get thru the process and onto the ship now, especially if you have 'Faster to the Fun' or are a V.I.P. Platinum, or Diamond member. I will say this though..... the Luggage guys could care less if you have the FTTF tags. they come and get delivered with all the other luggage. No priority, separation, or faster delivery. I think we are just burnt out on cruises, we've been on 5 in the last 4 years. Would I go again? Not anytime soon..... probably not Carnival either. I was very excited to sail on this boat, after reading numerous reviews and being in FB groups where a lot of cruisers said this was there favorite boat by far. I could not wait for my chance to sail on Carnival Breeze. I was quickly let down and disappointed. Normally when I get on a cruise I am in love with the atrium, this boat left a lot to be desired. It uses more mellow tones and I particularly enjoy the more brighter ones. The staff was also completely different. Normally Carnival staff are out going, fun, funny, informative and learn your name This crew just did their job and nothing more. This was also the first cruise I decided to take my children on and I wanted them to enjoy the cruise line as much as I did. They enjoyed it but I think it could have been much better. I recently cruised a year prior to this and in a year the food drastically changed. No meal I had can I honestly say was really good. A lot of times I had to send my entree back and try another one. None of the desserts wowed me wither. Why oh why is there a Pizza Pirate on this cruise??? This has to be one of the worst pizza options ever! My waiter in the dinning room Woodie was good but not overly great. I think my previous cruise on Magic set the bar so high it was hard for these crew members to reach it. I tried a FWD cabin this time and never again. It was way to rocky and the waves were so loud it sometimes woke me up at night so back to midship I go. Oh and the cruise director was not as good as my last cruise director either. The only cute phrase he had was," I love you." Other than that he was not entertaining at all. My room 7222 was fine. The bed was so comfy and I felt like every night it was calling my name. I didn't get a chance to party much on this cruise but my kids sure as heck did. Some nights I had to go and find them. I have no plans on trying this ship again but I will be back on Carnival. Read Less

This review uses experience on Royal Caribbean as a high water mark reference point; though the Breeze offers good value, it does not measure up to the quality of service, ship design, décor, and staff professionalism experienced on Royal C. Staff: Though the restaurants and cleaning staff had good intensions, they often seemed overextended. They often did not seem to understand English when asked any question beyond the most common phrases and then responses where difficult or impossible to understand. This was not the case at all on Royal C.so I was disappointed. Examples of the less than professional service are the following: Not thinking to serve a spoon with coffee and having to get a busy waiters attention to ask for one. Serving melted ice-cream or lukewarm food. Impolite or impatient ways of getting you to take bread or give your order because the waiters seemed pressured or rushed to get their job accomplished. (again not experienced on Royal C. ) Some waiters seemed to be armature or ill trained, unsure of how or what to do next while others did okay. It was inconsistent. I must say the dining directors were good and accommodating. Photographers where a constant annoyance on this cruise; at every dinner we were interrupted by men asking us (or not asking us) to pose for photos. On one occasion, for a second photo op that meal, a photographer was with an assistant dressed as a pirate with a plastic sword. without asking any in our dining party the pirate went around the table placing his sword under the throat of one of each couple to pose for the camera. Okay, maybe fun for some with young kids but our group of 12 was not in this category; very unprofessional and intrusive. Photographers also seemed to be filling many corners of hallways impleading the heavy traffic of this large passenger list of 4700 trying to snag anyone to get a photo in front of a fake beach or ship when we could do the same with our own cameras with the real thing outside! It was like navigating a narrow market around venders trying to sell you at every turn. Lines at every turn: Anything you needed or wanted to do required waiting in a line for at least 20 min or more usually. Customer service? wait in line (on the phone too). Shore excursions? wait in line. Food at most any venue? wait in line, activities, wait in line. We found ourselves using room service much more than expected to avoid time wasting lines but then still a 40 minute wait and for only sandwiches, coffee and juice; anything more, including pop, required payment. Ship design was not impressive. Dining rooms not very elegant compared with RC. They were also louder though we sat at many different locations on top and lower areas; acoustic deadening needed. The veranda deck was not inviting with high glass walls and partitions along the length of the ship, you could not enjoy a walk next to the sea with an open railing, and then had to go around high partitions along the way. Traffic flow in the buffet areas ( The Market) was difficult. Lines wrapped around hall areas. Attendants push carts and carrying things were always needing you to clear their way. People crowed past each other to find the ends of lines. Décor just average. The small atrium had a backdrop of clouds on blue painted on a wall with cylindrical red and orange lights on wires. Tacky. Color combinations and decorations were nothing impressive. There was a feeling of randomness as to where activity spaces were placed. Casino, bars, play spaces were hard to locate logically, you had to find a map; it seemed not very intuitive. Art was just displayed in common hallways and then in a small, one entry room. Again, I was spoiled by a Royal Caribbean ship that had flowing intuitive and inviting spaces easy to find and get familiar with. Embarkation and Disembarkation was well organized and managed by the upbeat directors. This review just escaped a two star rating because of good Varity of food, hard working staff and upbeat directors. But next time for me and mine, its definitely a return to Royal Caribbean on a smaller, more elegant ship. Read Less

The Carnival Breeze is a new ship and you can tell. The ship is very pretty inside and the Tropical theme throughout makes you feel like you are definitely on a vacation. The housekeeping service (at least Agnus) was outstanding!! The dining service though was so-so. We had to ask (every night) for refils on our drinks/water. The food in the dining room was okay. The Burgers at Guys Burgers were GREAT! Had waaayyy too many! The Mexican stand was not my favorite...but thats my opinion. The HOT CHOCOLATE is a must have!! yummmmy Enough about food...lets talk shows. I wish they would have provided shows after the late dinner seating. We were only able to see a show on two nights after the late dinner. All the other shows were at 7:30, that just meant that we had to leave the tanning and pool time early (5:30) to have time to get ready for a 7:30 show. The shows were ok. They didnt have the numerous number of dancers like other carnival ships. There was only 8 dancers. The comedians on board were good too but the adult comedy shows started at 11 or 11:30! The kids shows, GameShows, were exciting for the kids, screaming jumping the works, but they were at 2:00 or 3:00 pm! What kid wants to get out of the pool at that time to go indoors?? Not mine! The best time we had was at the PIANO BAR!! Very fun exciting entertaining time, for ADULTS only! Lots of booze! DRInk! All in all, we had a good time....cant complain, I didnt have to make beds, do laundry or do dishes for a week!~ :) Read Less

Carnival Breeze has the potential to be a great ship but it is currently let down by poor design flaws, poor quality food and a considerable amount of poor service by crewmembers. Having booked suite 7377 I was initially pretty excited to be going back to Carnival for the first time in 5 years. Embarkation was great and we were on the ship within 5 minutes of arriving at Miami Cruise port. First impressions are very positive. We love the relaxed Cabana style theme throughout and think it really does add a pleasant change to the usual gaudy style on some cruise ships. We also love the range of restaurants available. Regrettably this is as positive as it got. Having left Miami we first had two days travelling to our first destination St. Thomas. After entering open waters we noticed that an unusual creaking sound emanating from an area around the main entrance of room 7377. We dismissed this as the cruise had just begun and who stays in their room right? Wrong! Later that night after an exhausting day (please be aware we flew 9 hours prior to boarding the ship) we went to bed around 10pm. We immediately realized that sleeping was not going to be easy. The creaking was loud and continued with every gentle roll of the boat. Now I have cruised many times with different companies on different ships of different sizes. I am fully aware that odd noises and bumps are to be expected. The noise that emits from Carnival Breeze suite 7377 is not normal. It is highly unusual and it is unacceptable to expect paying customers to put up with. After a few hours we managed to sleep I don't know if this was due to pure exhaustion or because the ship had hit calmer waters and the creaking stopped. So the next day we awoke to find all was quiet. So we put this down to bad luck and got back to enjoying ourselves. Wrong! That night 10pm. The same thing occurs! Now during the 3rd night the pattern is the same. This time I finally lost it and went to the Guest Services desk to complain. I was met with a sympathetic crewmember that politely advised that essentially could NOT do anything! Remember 3 days in and 3 sleepless nights. I advised that I want someone to go to the room and observe the problem with a view to identifying a fix immediately. What I got was a non-English speaking housekeeping guy, standing in the darkness of my room listening to a very loud audible creak and nodding his head in agreement! Good job Carnival! I also explained to the front desk that this appears to be a structural problem. The creaking is occurring, as it is metal rubbing against metal. Only to be advised that they were actually aware of the problem due this not being the first time customers staying in this room have complained. SO WHY HAVENT YOU FIXED IT PRIOR TO MY EMBARKATION????? Now this story continues in much the same pattern. To the extent I was financially compensated whilst on-board. Which went a little way to turning the problem around albeit. I was not moved to another room (I even offered to go to an inside stateroom foregoing my suite just to get some sleep! And the compensation offered doesn't come close to what I have paid and now essentially lost. Moving on. We had chosen anytime dining. This was available in the Sapphire restaurant. The meals on offer were very appealing and were looking forward to the dining experience offered. Unfortunately this was also a negative experience mainly due to the unbelievably slow service. The server staff is very good at the initial introductory salutation. They would bring bread and offer water. Then nothing. On all 4 times that we visited the Sapphire room for dinner, we had to wait over 20 minutes just to place the order for food and then we had anywhere between another 20 to 30 minutes before the first course followed by at least another 30 minutes wait for the second. We managed to hold on for 2 desserts during the 4 visits. I would have needed to re-shave if I waited on the other 2 occasions! Most of the time the staff were pleasant but ultimately unresponsive. Most notably was almost every dish that was meant to be hot was in fact tepid, bordering cold. Very disappointing. Which leads me to Breakfast in the Sapphire. We chose to take breakfast in he Sapphire to avoid the daily free for all at the Lido Marketplace. Overall this is still better than the aforementioned Lido experience but still it is not up to scratch. I can list multiple issues here but to put my complaint in context I shall list one to which I believe is so basic it should highlight the low level issues. Toast is a simple to make right? The concept of toast is to warm bread and make it crispy. The Sapphire completely fails this basic task on all attempts. Now I know this is a truly pedantic, anally retentive observation but nevertheless it does highlight that attention to detail with one of the most basic of requirements appears to be lacking on what is touted as a Carnival Flagship. Everyday I'll end up with nothing more that limp bread that appeared to have a spray tan. Next up -- The Staff Overall great. Most helpful, some not so but put it in context. It is entirely reasonable to not appear happily and smiley 24/7 especially when they have to deal with rude, obnoxious customers day in day. However some staff where just plain rude. On many occasions I witnessed crew members being foul mouthed with each other in front of passengers or often criticising passengers from afar whilst speaking to each other. Again I realize people are entitled to their opinion but they should be spatially aware and remain professional at all times. N.B. Crewmembers. Speaking in your own language does not necessarily shield your conversation from paying passengers. I have a major issue with members of the security team. During the cruise I misplaced my room card. Immediately I had the card replaced by the Guest Services desk and then went about as usual for a day at see before heading to our final scheduled Island (Nassau). As I tried to leave the ship my new card raised an alarm. This immediately led to Carnivals security personal surrounding me and belligerently advising me that I do "not have the right card and I shouldn't be using it" than accused me of having two cards" and saying the card I have used is not mine! All of which was completely untrue. I explained that this is the only card I have since A: The original had been misplaced and subsequently cancelled B: This was the card given by their colleague at guest services I was then told (not asked) to stand in front of machine and have my photograph taken all the while being asked security questions. Now I again realize this is a necessary process, but I highly object to the accusatory tone and surly nature of this security team. If they had simply asked to speak to me in a separate area and explained the process they had to go through to clear the problem than I would not be writing this now. Again this highlights a complete lack of the understanding about the first rule of customer service. Basic manners will go a long way! Eventually I was allowed off the boat. Only to return approximately 5 hours later to experience the same issue again! So lack of communication is also a big issue. To make matters worse even after showing my passport and highlighting that my room card, name and details were on the very list in the hand of the security guard. I was then again accused of having the wrong card. I want to point out not only is this very annoying it is highly embarrassing situation to be put in, since there was queue of other passengers on both occasions. So another night before we get back to Miami and having queued to get off the vessel for the final time. I am again met by the same security personnel crew member. This time she asks again to see my passport before I leave the ship. I highlighted that it is the very same person in the photograph who had the conversation twice yesterday and is now stood in front of her again. I.E my Passport and details do not change over night! Whilst I realize loosing the card is the root cause. This must happen a huge number of times and I'm assuming this was not isolated incident. I would suggest better communication between Carnival crew and the Sail account transfer process needs improving. Overall this has tainted my experience of Carnival and I will not be using them or any their sister companies anytime in the near future. Read Less
