We selected let Carnival choose your room and save money. They gave us an inside room, no window s, no seating area, 2nd. Floor above the engine room!!! We paid the same price for that room as our other friends that were on the 9th floor with a sliding glass door and balcony, plus a sitting area!!!!! This is unfair pricing!!!!!! We absolutely did. To sleep due to the noise. We complained and this fell on deaf ears. They could have cared less!!!! I was told, once I was told my room assignment a couple of days prior to departure, it was a sold out cruise. They told me the only room available would cost more t(an a $1000 more!!!! So disappointing. Bartenders on this ship were rude also. They appeared bored. Made terrible drinks!!! The buffet was poorly planned. Long lines, terrible food!!! All the food was substandard, entertainment was like watching a junior high musical. The only good thing I can say about this cruise is the cruise director seemed to be very good and talented. I WILL NEVER GO ON A CARNIVAL CRUISE AGAIN!!!!!!! Book Royal Caribbean!!!! Or, better yet, save your money and book a VIKING European cruise!!!!!! Read Less

No matter where we were or what we did on our recent Carnival Breeze cruise, the employees were superb! From our room stewards, Gusti and John Paul, (room 2221) to our waiters, I Putu, Oscar and Carson (Table 533), to the Lido staff, Zara, and the Ocean Plaza help, Ruth, the employees were amazing, friendly, helpful and happy! The "Craft with Michael's" guys, Brad and Ryan were incredibly entertaining and fun. The four comedians, Dale Jones, Jodi White, Allen Mazen and Tyler (the bow tie guy) had us laughing until we were crying, both the family and adult shows! Also, the Sea Sharps are the best band that I've ever seen on my 75+ Carnival cruise days. They performed in the Ocean Plaza which was great because we could dance, but there was standing room only; they need a bigger venue! Schwartz is a fun cruise director; does he have time to sleep?! And, thank you for the daily puzzle, which I did every day; and this cruise, I borrowed a book from the library, read it and returned it, so I didn't even have to haul a book or Kindle around while traveling to and from the ship. Finally, the embark and disembark procedures were the fastest I've ever experienced. Love you Carnival! Read Less

Theb food was very good and all of the staff memebers were very helpful and nice. If you were to go on this trip i would say this is a family ship or just hanging out with friends. I would love to go on a carnival cruise again with muy family and the money was worth it i loved all the activites including basketball, golf, arcade and the casiono. I would say one bad thing about the ship is that is is very old and rusty it really didn't smell too good buh overall everyone was very nice and I would like to go again. Read Less

Embarkation was great. We arrived at Cape Canaveral around 10:30 a.m. and we were able to board before noon. The Carnival Breeze is a beautiful ship. Since our cruise was in October the ship was decorated for Halloween and had several activities on board that were Halloween related. Our dining experience was not what we have experienced in the past on Carnival. We had early dining in the Sapphire dining room. The service was fair. We were not offered refills on our ice tea, we had to ask. Waiter's were friendly but seemed stressed and in a hurry to clear dishes off the table. We felt like we were being rushed to finish our food. Food was always luke warm when served. Nothing was hot. Same with the buffet on the Lido deck with the exception of Guys Burgers they were hot and delicious. The entertainment was fair. We only enjoyed 1 of the shows. One night we ended up leaving before the show was over....along with several other passengers. We ordered coffee through room service a few mornings. Service was quick and servers were very nice. We only went on 1 excursion which was in St. Thomas, the sky lift. Beautiful view at the top. We had been to all of the ports in the past and we just enjoyed walking around to different shops and restaurants. Our room steward was great.Very nice. I doubt that we will sail on the Breeze in the future due to the food not being up to our expectations.Disembarkation was well organized and quick. Read Less

We had 3 rooms, a group of 10. We have sailed with Royal Caribbean and decided to give Carnival a shot this year; what a mistake. Everyone who worked on this ship looked mad all the time, employees would run you over, would not get out of your way when you were walking throughout the decks, pool areas and dining areas. The bartenders looked miserable and angry all the time, it was evident they did not want to be there. We had purchased the Cheers package, and yet the bartenders tried to limit every single thing you could order. If we ordered a drink, and didn't want bottom shelf liquor, we were told no, or just completely ignored until we had to demand the bartender to make our drink the way we wanted. After going back and forth with the bartender, we explained, per Carnival policy, you're allowed to have a drink of up to $20, therefore, allowing us to have top shelf liquor drinks. Although you are limited to 15 drinks per day, we were able to reach 11, and we stopped due to the fact they were using so much syrup, it would literally have your stomach hurting (by the way, not even tipsy off these drinks, very suspect). The Food: Absolutely horrible. The best food on this ship was the brisket from Guys BBQ and the burgers from Guys Burgers. The buffet was an absolute joke, the dine in was the same horrible food they were putting on the buffet. The pizza, well lets just say, that pizza didn't live long enough to make it to the oven, it was so dry and over cooked. Then comes desert; nobody can mess up desert, right? Well, Carnival Breeze even managed to mess up the desert, which was also disgusting. Hey, at least the Ceaser Salad was good. Instead of just hopping on here to leave a bad review, I did contact Carnival directly to inform them of our experience and also all the other passengers who were mummering about the horrible experience. I wanted to let Carnival know directly so that they could focus on what matters most. Some times, it's all about changing the small things to make big experiences matter, like a smile when you are being served, having a bartender who not only smiles, but listens to what you want. Friendliness was the main factor missing from the experience, and it was very odd that it was the entire ship. This experience just didn't feel like a 7 day vacation, it felt like we were a nuisance to everyone and really felt out of place. Unfortunately for Carnival, this will be my last cruise with them. I will gladly stick with Royal Caribbean as my experiences with Royal Caribbean are just what their name says, Royalty. Our group is also considering Norwegian as we have heard amazing things about them as well. Read Less

I was on the Carnival Breeze this past August for a family and friends vacation and I am concerned about the decisions of some members of the security crew... My 17 and 20 year old daughters had to make a complaint because some teenagers were doing prank calls and knocking on their cabin door in the middle of the night. During debarkation they were both hold back on the ship by security. Since I walked out a few persons before my daugthers I waited a little further on the bridge leading to the terminal. Not seeing them arrive I was very worried so I am glad I was able to make my way back to the exit of the ship and wait with them (note here that nobody wanted to tell us why my daugthers where not allowed to leave the ship). As per Carnival's web site "Guests Under the Age of 21 MUST travel with a relative or guardian of 25 years of age or older". How come security was allowed to hold my daugthers without even notifying the parent or guardian (aka me in this case)? Are they so important that they can pass over parental authority? I called Carnival when I got home and apparently there's nothing wrong with that situation... I even sent a message to John Heald who replied that "because there was a 20-year-old sister with her that she was considered to be an appropriate adult". That being said, eveything else was as great as usual. The cruise director MarQ was really energetic and enthusiastic. Our cabin steward Korn and MDR waiter Alex were exceptional. They were always making everything they could to be ahead of our needs. My husband and I took the "behind the fun" tour. It was absolutely fantastic! I do recommend this tour to everybody. Since we were cruising just ahead of the hurricane Dorian, the captain did multiple announcements to inform the passengers about the situation. He made sure to keep us safe at all time. Read Less

My wife and I took our daughters (ages 15 and 11) on the Carnival Breeze out of Port Canaveral (August 17, 2019 sailing). We've cruised on Carnival before (Pride, Vista), as well as Norwegian (Getaway) and Royal Caribbean (Harmony). Like all of our previous cruises, we had a terrific time on the Breeze and I just don't get the negative reviews. We flew into Orlando the night before our cruise. We rented a car at MCO and stayed at the Courtyard in Lake Nona and highly recommend that property (new, clean, spacious, free parking, free breakfast). We drove to Port Canaveral the next morning, after making a pit stop at the liquor store to get some wine (Carnival allows 1 bottle/stateroom (1 less than Royal!)). I dropped my wife and daughters off at the terminal and then returned the rental car which was nearby on Mullet Street. The rental shuttle was dropping off folks from the ships, but would not take folks to the ship until it got clearance. As we arrived early, I just took a short Uber ride back to the terminal and met the family. Even though we arrived very early, we were still required to wait for our assigned boarding group. As soon as we boarded, we went straight to the Excursion Desk so I could sign my daughter and me up for the "Behind the Fun Ultimate Tour." They typically only have two groups of 16 for this tour and you have to sign up on board - no advance reservations. The tour on the Breeze was $95/person (it varies on ships). As it was my daughter's birthday gift, I'm glad we were able to get in (we were #16 and 17). The ship was very nice - yes, there are some signs of wear, but the ship has been in service since 2012 (and it did have a refurb since). This Dream-class ship was very similar to the Vista-class, and I think I prefer it to the Vista-class (especially the main theater). We grabbed lunch at Cucina del Capitano (complimentary for lunch) and Guy's Pig & Anchor (awesome) as there is no way we would go to the crazy Marketplace Lido. As promised, our rooms were available at 1:30 PM. We had a balcony and our girls were in the interior directly across the hall - just get extra keys so everyone can have access to the rooms. Like on Harmony of the Seas, I discovered that booking two rooms is cheaper than us all staying in the balcony room - crazy, right? Twice the space, bathrooms, etc. - so much better! After unpacking and the muster drill, we were enjoying vacation! First day was a sea day and we enjoyed the pool and waterpark. We never had a problem getting 4 chairs together close to the pool and we didn't get there especially early. There was always ample chairs available (even if you had to go up a deck). Amber Cove was OK. We just went to the Carnival area (pool, zip lines, slide, etc.). The shore excursions didn't particularly excite us and we just wanted to relax. The zip lines are $20/person (maybe $10 for child?) but we've zip-lined previously so we just did the slides and pool. This was my least favorite port. We didn't venture out ourselves, especially given the issues on the D.R. with tourists. St. Thomas is always nice. We got tickets for the cable car to Paradise Point. We were going to do it on our own as it is very close to the dock, but I saw the shore excursion through Carnival was actually cheaper (and you still just do it on your own). Have always wanted to see the view up there and it was nice. We didn't stay up there very long - all there is is a restaurant/bar and some shops. We returned to the ship for lunch and then took a cab to Emerald Beach (right near the airport). This was the third time we've been to St. Thomas with our girls, so we tried a different beach than Magens Bay. I very much recommend Emerald Beach - not at all crowded and there were facilities, a restaurant, and a bar. San Juan - as we docked right in Old San Juan, we walked around Old San Juan and the fortresses (we didn't actually go into them). We were disappointed the umbrellas were taken down from Fortaleza Street, but that was from the political protests. After our walk, we took a taxi to Isla Verde for the beach (right near the Embassy Suites). Another nice beach - not crowded, facilities, food choices, etc. This beach was recommended by a local driver - we were actually planning to go to Condado Beach but was told it was much rougher there. Grand Turk was probably my favorite day. We rented a golf cart from Omar. We did not make a reservation; we just got off the ship as soon as possible and briskly walked there (walk through the shops and parking lot) and I asked where Omar was and he was right ahead! We paid $75 for a 4-person cart. Not sure if folks with reservations got screwed as there did not seem to be a whole lot of golf carts there, but we got one! Just get his number before you leave in case of any mechanical issue. There was a very basic map on the cart, but it was minimally helpful. We planned to go to Pillory Beach and sort of went too far, but we were eventually able to find it and it did not disappoint! This is a great beach with a resort right there (again, facilities, food, drinks) and the water was crystal clear and amazing. There was a gentleman with a horse (Black Shadow) and we paid only $20 (each) for our girls to get a horseback ride along the beach and in the water (and it was a decent amount of time/distance) - so much cheaper than any excursion where you pay way more than that! Pillory Beach is so much better than the beach right there where the ship docks - way overcrowded! We then took the golf cart to Governor's Beach, which was much smaller (just beyond the beach where the ship docks) - just look for the rusted shipwreck. We did go to an area beyond it and we were the only people there, but it was rocky (but still beautiful). We returned the golf cart (we had to put just a little bit of gas in it to return it full) and spent about 10 minutes in the pool at Margaritaville. It was just about 5:30 (all aboard time) and we got back on the ship. We did late seating in the Blush Restaurant. Our table was in a lousy location (between a wall where the service station was and a window (but it was dark at dinner time)), so we requested a change and the next night we had a great table location between the aft windows and the main open area. Our servers (Ruben and Larry) were fantastic! We have found the food on Carnival to surpass that on NCL and Royal. The entertainment was good. Comedy shows in the Limelight were just OK - I've been to better - it just depends what comedians are on the ship that week. We always enjoy the guitar player (mainly in the Red Frog Pub - Dave) on the ships. We went to 88 Keys and Flick in the Ovation Theater - better than I expected (Royal and NCL do better production shows) - still enjoyable. We went to Hasbro the Game Show (again, we couldn't get selected to participate - darn!) and Lip Sync Battle (it was great the week we were there). MarQ was a great Cruise Director - I found him as good as Matt Mitchum. The Fun Squad were all great. We enjoyed the ropes course. My wife and I were able to negotiate a good deal for a couple's massage (I had never done that before and it was quite great). The "Behind the Fun Ultimate Tour" was worth the money - it is on the last sea day and you get some gifts with it (including a group photo on the ship's bow, and a group photo in the bridge with the Captain). We accessed the galley, bridge (met the Captain - Captain Rocco Lubrano - he was our captain on the Vista in 2017!), crew mess, crew lounge, engine control room, laundry room, HR room (with photos of crew quarters), back stage of the theater. Our room steward (Jason) was fantastic - we requested service two times a day and the rooms were always well taken care of. Please be sure to tip your room steward and waiters extra on the last day of the cruise - they work so hard! We had an extra dinner one night at Bonsai Sushi and it was excellent and had a great atmosphere. Guy's Burgers are addictive (although I think I only had 1!), and the BlueIguana has outstanding burritos/bowls/tacos (and a breakfast burrito). We had breakfast in the dining room every morning and it was great. The Sea Day brunches are also incredible. While we like Norwegian's freestyle cruising philosophy, and Royal has the most innovative ships, Carnival, in our opinion, has the best food, the most fun (great Cruise Directors and activities, etc.), and gives the best value. In the end, it comes to what date works for a cruise and the price. The Breeze worked for us and we had a wonderful cruise. We did have an issue with our shower (water pressure and drainage) - we reported it and it was resolved almost immediately - great service. Disembarkation was a bit delayed so we just hung out in the Limelight - not Carnival's fault. We rented a car again (as we drove down to West Palm Beach to visit family) from Alamo (same as before). I took the shuttle to the building and got the car quickly and picked up the family at the terminal. We were sad to see the Breeze disappear in the rear view mirror . . . Read Less

We have cruised with Carnival, Royal Caribbean and NCL in the past and chose this cruise base on price. This was our second Carnival cruise and was a lot better than our first experience on the Dream. I had a lot of reservations before boarding based on reviews I read here but we did not experience any of the issues I read about. Embarkation was easy and we were on board by 1130. Our cabin was nice and clean and everything worked as it should. Saw a lot of complaints about the air not being cold enough, but our was working great and would cool the room down as much as we needed it to. Our room steward was awesome. One of the best we have had in our handful of cruises. He always made sure the room was clean and stocked with towels and was apologetic anytime we came back and the room was not done up yet. Not that we were concerned, but it was nice to hear he was and tool pride in making sure he did his job well. The ship itself was really nice and didnt experience any issue. The shows we were to were excellent, the comedy club was fun. The pools, even though small, did not seem to be overly crowded whenever we went, even on sea days much to our surprise. The same for the water park as well. The only disappointment we had was to food selection, especially for kids. It was not obvious that you could get chicken nuggets in the Lido. You had to ask for them instead of them having a dedicated area for kid friendly foods like we have experienced on other cruise lines. The Sapphire restaurant was great and the food selection there was nice. We experienced the steakhouse for the first time on this cruise and it was nice as well. Our head server in the Sapphire was awesome. Took care of my kids and made sure they were happy with what they had. We have always been skeptical of Carnival as they have the reputation of being the party boat, but we did not experience this on this cruise for the most part and we really enjoyed it. We have young kids and dont want to deal with all the drunk people all the time. Although there was one night at 2am we were woken up by a group of drunks walking down the hallway screaming and yelling, but thats it. All in all we were really happy with this cruise and will be looking for future Carnival cruises now based on this experience. I guess my advice for those that read this is dont let the negative review ruin your cruise or swade you from trying out Carnival or any other cruise for the first time. You can make you own experience and have your own fun in your own way. Read Less

Our cabin (balcony) was excellent. We prefer the forward cabins on the larger ships as it is easier disembarking. We try to get next to an elevator and then just catch it down to disembark. . The dining was very enjoyable. Our "team" knew us by name and our preferences, after the first night. Most of our entertainment was done in the casino, which was one of the best run we have experienced. All the "Hosts", including the Premier Hosts were attentive and very helpful !! We did take an excursion in Amber Cove, D.R., "The Outback Dominican Experience". Well worth the money.. We would enjoy cruising on the Breeze again... Please look for it. Read Less

My family and I had 3 balcony cabins (9235, 9231, and 9227) on the Breeze last week that we paid a quite a bit of money for, considering what we typically pay for a balcony on Carnival.  1. Embarkation was a Breeze - no pun intended 2. Food -  I am by no means a "foodie" but I paid a couple days to buy food at the Red Frog Pub and the sushi restaurant for the following reasons. The food quality on the Lido deck was horrible- a sloppy mess of a display and the food looked like something you would "throw out in the yard to feed the farm animals".  The pre-made sandwiches as opposed to the made to order ones of the past was disappointing and even the pizza was mediocre at best on this ship. The dining room basically has the same ole menu for the past 20 years and let's not forget the absolutely tasteless desserts.  3. Internet - no complimentary or at least minute packaged internet service just for airline check in on the last day of the cruise (once again this used to work for me in the past). 4. Entertainment - what happened to the orchestra/band in the main auditorium for major productions? The playlist used in more recent years "waters down" the shows. Comedy is subjective so you'll have to be the judge of that yourself. Shows were typical. 5. Platinum gift - Carnival should be embarrassed to give it's platinum and diamond guests that cheap little lanyard that isn't even as nice as the ones they were selling for $6.95 on embarkation day.  This is by far the cheapest "gift" they have given and although it's a "gift", I would rather they cut it out completely than to receive a dollar store trinket as a thank you for being a loyal customer.  Please, if they can save themselves a few dollars by not insulting guests with something like a sub-par lanyard, just stop this now!  Maybe it's just me and I am being ungrateful but you can't give out relatively decent gifts for years to your platinum and diamond customers who spend thousands of dollars with you, and then switch to a cheap little piece of junk, and expect not to raise a few eyebrows. 6. Serenity deck was nice, nothing special. 7. Ports of Call a. Amber Cove - stayed right in the port are and had a great time. Water slide was fast and fun, Next time I think I'll leave that to the "kids" as it was a bit too much for me lol My family paid $20 for the zip line and did it a couple times. we ordered bottled beverages and I don't think we ordered any food.   b. St. Thomas - had a great day at Coki beach. Rented chairs and umbrellas ($20 for 2 chairs and 1 umbrella). c. San Juan - walked around and shopped in old San Juan. Wanted to see the "umbrella" street but we were told that the umbrellas were taken down as the street was the idea of the wife of the much hated governor. d. Grand Turk - stayed at the pool area at Margaritta ville. It was fun for a while before it turned really "rachet" and seedy with all the twerking and grinding etc. going on. It was definitely not a kid friendly scene and there were plenty of kids there to which some of the "adults" who thought they were in a strip club, totally ignored. 8. On the plus side, our cabin steward, Brian and guest services manager, Mirella were both, accommodating, helpful and very professional.  Kudos to them. 9. Debarkation was a Breeze as well. Now for my real complaint!  We paid good money for 3 balcony cabins for this 7 day cruise.  Unfortunately, we lost 2.5 days of balcony use due to maintenance and extremely strong paint smells.  This really amounts to poor planning by the Carnival team and my family and I had to suffer the consequences.  Guest services called us one night and asked if it was OK if they performed some maintenance on our balconies on the next port day.  We agreed to this as we were going to be in port and figured they'd be done by the time we got back on the ship.  Needless to say, that was not the case and we couldn't use the balcony that evening and the next day they were at it again.  It seemed that the first day, they primed the balcony and the next day they did the actual painting.  On the second day of our non-balcony usage, when we got back on the ship, the crew was still on the balcony and when they left, a couple hours later, the paint smell was so strong that we couldn't even open the balcony door for the entire night.  We pay for a balcony so we can enjoy the fresh ocean air and not only do we spend a great deal of time sitting on the balcony ready during the day, we sleep with the door open at night.  We lost precious time enjoying our balconies and I find it really bad business that the only compensation my family and I received (after consistently calling and voicing our concerns) was a free dinner.  If we didn't care about using the balcony, we could have saved quite a bit of money by booking 3 interior cabins instead of 3 balconies.  This is probably the first time in years that I gave a mostly negative review. I always have fun with my family and this cruise didn't change that. These are just my observations and hopefully it will give you a little insight and help you with your planning process. Read Less

This cruise was by far the most terrible as far as customer service. Dining room room experience was awful, had to wait 15mins for water, bread was very hard and food was not at all appetizing. Attitudes were displayed as if the wait staff was irritated. It was very stuffy, a.c. Was not working to full capacity. Bar staff in the club was awful, attitudes, very slow and unenthusiastic with the exception of Sean (China) Santosa (Indonesia)@ the red rum bar they were AWESOME!!!! Give them a raise!!!! The public facilities were at minimal use, the dryers were broken and washers half washed the clothes. Pool areas were congested, maybe consider an adult only pool area. Food selections were always the same in the buffet area. Debarkation was very very slow and not very organized. Not very pleased with this cruise. This was my 6th cruise, hope things get better. Long lines at buffet, pizza took forever to make. Long line as well there. Deli: forget it. One person helping long line, and selections have changed. Found many areas dirty. Public bathrooms not cleaned enough. Ship showing its age. Rust around doors. Shows: well boring. Not the best. Not great for kids. Same show we saw on another Carnival cruise. Oh, but if you want to have stuff sold to you every minute, well then come on board. That they excel at. Will sell you anything and everything, and pushy to make you buy. Drinks were good, but some bars took quite a while to serve you. Hey not every Carnival cruise can be the best. This one did let me down in many ways. We had a great time, but there could /should have been more for the teen age group to do. For example there was a dodgeball tournament , but for adults. Kids ran around the ship a lot, unsupervised. There were several fights in the arcade that lasted long enough for my son to video and security knew nothing about it. There were tons if activities for adults and they were all great. The staff is excellent, very helpful, friendly and accommodating. The room was nice, clean and our steward Mudi, was great! At night, the room temp was warm and the air did not seem to be working at its fullest, but not terrible. Getting on and off was very easy for the cruise as well as for the excursions. Food was good and there was plenty of options and choices. Our cruise director marQ was awesome and heand many of the cruise staff learned and remembered many of the guests names. This made it very personal and fun as well. Excursions: amber cove- we did the horseback riding at Seahorse ranch and it was great. Horses are beautiful and Fausto, our guide was very informative on our way there. San Juan: the rainforest and Old SanJuan, very nice and interesting St. Thomas: snorkeling sea turtle cove, this was beautiful and we wish it would have lasted longer Grand Turks: the beach had a lot to do for everyone the water was beautiful. The Blush dining room staff was fantastic, "Som and YumYum" provided wonderful service and were loads of fun. Our cabin steward, Korn was wonderful. We could not have asked for better service, the room was alway clean and appointed. This ship was at full capacity, there were lines but they never seemed to take long. Embarkation was quick and simple. Debarkation was completely flawless, of course we handled our on bags as were were parked in the garage across from the terminal. Guy's Burger Joint and the Red Frog Pub were big hits with our crowd. The water slides were enjoyed by everyone from "57 year old me" to the youngest 17 year old in our group. The pools were very crowded, so you simply needed to step into one of the many provided showers to cool off. If you can't adapt a little I suggest you don't go on any cruise in the middle of the Summer, when every ship is at or near full capacity. The shows were a mixed bag, a couple were really good a couple just average. The string trio playing in the Atrium was wonderful, and the solo guitar player that played around the ship was very impressive. I would give both an A+. We took one excursion through Carnival, a catamaran sailing from St. Thomas to St. John, Honeymoon Beach. This was a wonderful sail with a fantastic crew, I would recommend it to anyone. Now for a tip, in Grand Turk, we took a taxi to Bohio Dive Beach area. All beaches in Grand Turk are public, so don't bother with an excursion. There was a store just up the beach selling beer and such, nice walk, nice water. Understand that there are very little in the way of amenities at the beaches of Grand Turk. If you are not adventurous just stay at the beach beside the ship and enjoy the crowds. On a final note I have read some recent reviews of this ship and wondered who these people were and what ship they could possibly have gone on? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but understand we had 14 people of various ages and the only complaint we could come up with was the one 17 year old had a hard time getting into the "18 and over only locations". Certainly not Carnivals fault. Did we cheat a few times? Of course! I sometimes think these people could not be happy with anything, or they are just trying to impress someone with how refined they believe themselves to be. Sorry for the rant, but we really enjoyed this cruise, even with the big crowds. Read Less

I went on a family reunion cruise with 11 of my family members with 3 rooms being balconies and the other three inside cabins. We picked the Breeze for the family vibe and the islands and it was a good trip but Carnival had its ups and downs. Pros The food was very good. We especially liked the dinners in the hall and the specialty burger, bbq and tacos places. The buffet was perfectly acceptable but there could have been a few more to keep the lines down. Nobody got sick from the food so I consider that a good cruise. The drinks were tasty and we enjoyed a couple fish bowls at the Red Frog bar through out the cruise. Lots of booze and worth the money (especially if you go during the half price times). The photographers were excellent and there was a ton of different back drops and places to get our family pictures done. Photos were A+. The $5 onboard app made it very convenient to plan where people wanted to go which would have been a nightmare on past cruises. Cons The pools were terrible! I'm use to a central pool which was the focal point of the boat but on the Breeze you get two tiny pools and a water slide play area. Just way too small pools for the number of people on the ship. Lines - Lines - Lines are everywhere. The dining area is just a madhouse with kids and people everywhere. Just felt cramped and no organization which distracted from being able to relax. Getting around when everyone was on board was just crazy. And don't get me started on how packed the comedy club gets! I typically cruise on Royal and the people on Carnival were just uncouth. Slamming doors, kids running up an down the corridors at night - just a lack of manners compared to what I experienced on Royal. I know this ship is billed as the family boat but I'd not recommend it for anyone who has cruised before just due to the luke warm taste it left in my mouth. Read Less

A little about us. Family of 5, grown kids ages 18,19,23. Been cruising for 25 years. Over 30 cruises. Generally like different aspects of Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Norwegian. To be more specific, enjoy the ship amenities of RCCL, we love the Haven experience on NCL and we have always thought Carnival had the best food and service. Unfortunately, this Carnival cruise did not meet with those expectations. I will comment on a few major areas. CABIN: Standard cabin. Basic size. Balcony slightly larger than other lines. Bathroom basic and no concerns. Problem was poor AC. As others have said on Carnival Board, the AC simply does not cool down the room. Furthermore, the standard heavy duvet makes for very warm conditions. Even though my wife does not like our bedroom as cold as I do, she complained of how hot the room was during the day and night. (Note: the duvet would have been great had this been a winter escape to the Rockies). Mattress also did not seem to have as much support as on previous ships. Pillows were older, inconsistent and offered limited cushion FOOD: Chef's Table was very good. A- grade. Superb service, variety of foods that we would not usually order including Quail and Veal. Was a little disappointed with the wine offering which was Layer Cake Cab. On RCCL, there are 5 different wines served usually with Caymus with tenderloin for last course. Cucina del Capitano: C grade. We had mediocre service. Food was OK. Better than dining room, but just OK. Slightly better than Olive Garden. Only $15 per person. But probably would not spend extra for this quality of food. Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse: A- grade. Great service. Food very good. Steak quality good....perhaps not to quality of Ruth's Chris or other national steakhouses, but definitely much better than Outback and Longhorn as others have commented. BIG HINT.....on the first night, they offer a free bottle of wine with dinner. Do not get this...instead take advantage of the 50% off any bottle deal. We enjoyed 2 bottles of Caymus at half price. And I would note that wine prices all of the ship were very reasonable and much better than RCCL. Caymus was priced at $90 per bottle....it is ~$130 on RCCL. So we had 2 bottles of our favorite wine for $90 on the first night. Main Dining Room: Service was good, although it seemed poorly organized. More importantly, the food quality was just not good. As stated in intro, we have always thought main dining room food on Carnival was much better than competitors. No longer the case. Plenty of tasty appetizer options, but some did not live up to expectations. On the other hand, there weren't that many dessert options. Melting Chocolate Cake is often the only good option. Entrees were so-so most of the time. Lunch Options: Awesome....Guy's burgers, Pizza, Mexican buffet, and BBQ. All awesome. ENTERTAINMENT: This is by far our biggest complaint. At a time when competitors are providing plenty of entertainment options including 90 minute Broadway shows, Carnival continues to offer the 40 minute song and dance deal with taped music and cruise ship dancers. 3 different shows. Same thing each time. Very similar to the shows of the 1990's before everyone else stepped up their game. The only good entertainment was the comedy venue which is larger and better than RCCL. Good performances. SO....at night, the only good options are the comedy club and the casino. Perhaps that is what Carnival is looking for. MISCELLANEOUS: We didn't really sense that most of the staff was happy. Service was adequate, but not usually friendly. CRUISE DIRECTOR continued to make announcements that were unnecessary. Average of 6 public announcements throughout the ship each day. Some were really poorly timed including a Wake up on Sea Day at 9:30 to tell us Shops are open. Excuse me.....folks are sleeping. Another notable message was to announce in cabins that there would be an emergency drill at 9am on a port day. Some people were not going to shore and were sleeping. There was no reason to wake folks up to tell them there was a drill going on. Loud younger teens running through the hallways from 11p-2a. No supervision and security would not answer the phone So, all in all, we will likely not travel with Carnival again. Carnival cruise prices are often a little lower than competitors. But that price difference is definitely seen in total experience. Food quality no longer superior and more importantly, entertainment options in evening are severely lacking. Read Less

This was the third multi generational family cruise for our family which included three staterooms for my family, my inlaws, and my sister in law and her family.. Perfect stateroom location on lido deck 10290, 10286, and 10282. Literally could not get any closer to the lido deck if you tried! This was the second time I've stayed in a balcony on lido deck, (last time starboard, this time port) and it is so incredibly convenient in the mornings for breakfast, and all day on sea days. My father in law has mobility issues so that made this and even better location for him. This completed my "grand slam" on the Dream class and honestly, I'm done with Dream class for awhile. I do believe Breeze was the prettiest of the Dream class ships, the lido restaurant with its "trees" and "cabanas" was very nice. But we love ships. We cruise because of the ships first, ports second, and once you've done a ship three times, its time to move on. lol Again, cabin location GREAT, but 10290 was right behind where the windows at Blue Iguana jut out so you had a bit of a blockage looking forward. Not a big deal though. Food: same old same old. It's time for Carnival to update menu. The dining room menus have not changed and quite frankly there were some preparation issues. Our dining room waiter told us first night, "please be patient" and for the rest of the week we were the last table almost every night. The head waiter personally served our table all week so I believe someone was either let go, or quit, right before our cruise began. Amit was as attentive as he could be though and very friendly. Gede, the head waiter did what he could but it was just one of those things. We treated my inlaws to Chef's Table on this cruise for their anniversary. We did this last summer on the Dream and i do believe the food was prepared better on Dream. Of course we still loved Chef's Table. Entertainment: I thought there was no way we could top the Dream entertainment and i was 100% correct. Sadly, the entertainment on Breeze was VERY disappointing. I was talking up all the shows to our family, and nobody was impressed. I know that Dream has the best entertainment staff in the fleet, but Breeze was not even close. Schwartz. LOVED Schwartz! The first day, during muster I though, ugh this guy is boooooring, but he turned it up the next day during his morning show with Kimbo. Those two have such a chemistry and for the first time in 9 cruises I watched the morning show EVERY single day!!!! Love Schwartz and Kimbo!!!! New ebarkation at port canaveral super easy. We arrived at port by 1030am, we all had Faster to the Fun, got my father in law a wheel chair, and as soon as priority began boarding, we were on our way. On ship by about 10:50. Debarkation super easy too, we choose self debarkation. Read Less

Overcrowded cruise, pools wall to wall people, no way I would get in, had to wait in lines for food, water ice. Only one floor on the entire ship to get water, lemonade and tea. They give you tiny kid cups to drink from. Food was average. The ship windows were dirty. Everything costs extra. If you buy a soda package for kids, they have go to the bar to get a soda, and carnival adds tips on everything. The staff were hard working, however this is clearly a mismanaged company with an owner who is only interested in making money. Don’t pay for the Wi-Fi, we added this and it only worked about a 20% of the time. Major overcrowding problems on this cruise. We’ve been on Disney and it was first class. The families we were with will never do Carnival again. Think twice before you book, I would not recommend. Posts were full of trash, Grand Turk beach and ocean had cups, trash about. Horses on island thin looked unhealthy. Other passengers told us they snorkeled to view trash and that Carnival had been fined for dumping trash in the ocean. Stateroom hot, we were told the temperature was within carnivals accepted range. They brought us fans. Halls often smelled of sewage. The owner of Carnival should go on this trip! Read Less

This was my 3rd cruise, but first time with Carnival. We went as a group of 9 for a family vacation. Five in my group were new to cruising. The 5 children ranged in age from 6 y.o to 14 y.o. Unfortunately, everyone in the group returned extremely disappointed. The pools were remarkably small, barely larger than hot tubs, and were nowhere close to being able to accommodate the number of passengers on board. My husband and I weren't even interested in using the pools although we usually like to jump in. The casino took up an extremely large space and made the entire 5th floor smell like stale cigarette smoke. The casino actually took up more space than all THREE children's areas combined! My kids were so bored when we dropped them off at the child area, that they refused to go back. It actually took me 20 minutes to drop off my 2 kids, and another 20 waiting in line to pick them up an hour later. It was disheartening to not be able to drop them off to have fun so we could do "adult time". The lines for food were equally as frustrating. After our first stop in Amber Cove, hungry, exhausted passengers returned on board to find that only pizza and burgers were available to eat; resulting in lines that were excruciatingly long. This was pretty much the recurring theme each time we wanted to eat. This was even true for the buffet lines...when it was open. It is like they purposely timed the food areas to be shut down or at half staff during the most inappropriate/busy times. We had never experienced lines like this on our other cruises. Activities were mostly limited to sales, raffles and Bingo to encourage additional on-board spending. Two soccer tournaments were offered, but were limited to 18+. The one craft we attended was so short that the workers were actually taking supplies out from under my 6 y.o. daughter's hands to put them away. How disappointing. We enjoyed the live music, especially Liz and Lucas, who were AMAZING! I wish there would have been more on board to do other than just sitting in a bar listening to music. Even though we loved the band, we would have liked more family time on our family vacation. The 2 teens in our group actually enjoyed hanging out with new friends. The 13-15 y.o. teen area facilitated the opportunity for them to all meet, but after 2 days they preferred to spend most of their time as a group outside of the monitored area. There were some positives on our cruise. As I mentioned before, music by Liz and Lucas was amazing. Our group all liked the port locations; especially Grand Turk and San Juan. We would have loved to spend more time in both places. Despite frequent long lines, Guy's Burgers, the BBQ place, 24/7 ice cream and the pizza place were delicious. We also liked the burrito shack. Red Frog pub had board games available that entertained us for an hour or so. My children liked the water slides when they were available, but they were always done within 30-45 minutes. The adults used the workout area and were pleased to find plenty of cardio and weight lifting equipment available during both visits. Overall, the combination of minimal pool space, constant lines for food, lack of activities and boring childrens' areas, we will NEVER consider returning to Carnival. The negatives outweighed the positive by a HUGE margin. Our cruise was pretty much only enjoyable while we were off the ship or listening to Liz and Lucas. Read Less

I am a fan of Carnival cruise line. I have sailed on multiple cruises with them. The Breeze is one of the best ships I have been on. They offer a good selection of entertainment and activities [we really enjoy the karaoke and trivia and were disappointed that we missed some trivia games due to being in port while they were taking place :(]. The staff are very pleasant and attentive to guests’ needs. The food is high quality and Guy’s restaurants are delicious, which is one of the top reasons I prefer Carnival cruise lines. On the Breeze I would avoid balcony stateroom #6406 if you are a light sleeper (which unfortunately I am). The room is right above the Redfrog pub and most evenings you will hear loud music until midnight or later. You can also hear the music from the Liquid nightclub even after the pub has shut down for the night, which is a constant bass beat and can be quite annoying. The lanai promenade and corn hole game is also just below the outdoor balcony and you can hear when people are playing the game(even while inside the stateroom)it is a constant thumping sound and is sometimes played late in the night as well. People outdoors on the lanai promenade can be very loud at times. The balcony view is also not ideal due to the lanai promenade obstructing the view. Read Less

We choose the carnival Breeze this year because we heard it was an incredibly ship, and it was. Our cabin Stewart was Great she was very friendly and made us feel welcomed. The lines on the lido deck were long but hey we’re on vacation, not a big problem for me. I enjoyed the chance to talk and meet new people. We Loved the 80’s Rock and Glow night, we just wished they had the 80’s trivia game the same night. We enjoy dressing up in our costumes. The ports were beautiful and breathtaking, the water was so blue. The staff was also extremely friendly and really helpful we never needed anything. Our waiters in the Dining Room were incredible, they remembered our names and what we liked to eat and drink. Thanks Carnival for the wonderful memories Read Less

The did have stuff to do. Most of the ports were beautiful. Some of the staff was awesome, some were obviously disgruntled. We actually witnessed servers arguing on the floor on multiple occasions. My biggest complaint however is the fact that your food is supposed to be included. However after an excursion, you come back hungry and only two places that were included were open. So unless you wanna spend more money at one of the other places, your choices were burgers (I am a vegetarian, but I did like their fries) and pizza. So you and the other 4,000 people on the ship have these choices. Imagine the lines. And everyone is hangry. The cruise did have its benefits. There were plenty of hot tubs placed through out the boat so you could get away from the crowds. They had multiple excursions to choose from and our room Stewart was amazing. But if food is important to you, choose another cruise line. Read Less

The Blue Iguana and Pig & Anchor are my favorites. With over 4,000 people on this ship, they manage to remember everyone's name at dinner. I enjoyed all the nightly entertainment and I love the Punch line comedians they are always really funny. There are alot of talented singers and performers. In my opinion this cruise was not worth the amount I spent. I have sailed with Carnival 1 other time and it was the worst experience of my life and I almost never went on a cruise again after that. Last year we tried Royal Caribbean for the first time and loved it and this year I decided to give Carnival another chance. My mistake. I went with my boyfriend and 2 other couples so there was 6 of us in total. To begin, the embarkation process was smooth and quick as well as disembarkation. When we got to the room it was very small with no place to even put our suitcases to get them out of the way. I went on RC cruise line last year and the cabins were much bigger. This is not my main concern. Dining times were filled up so fast we had no choice but to choose 8:15 which was very late to eat dinner. Also, it was the prime time for many events so we either missed the events or we missed dinner. The activities and entertainment were a lot of fun for all ages. The comedians were very funny and the deck parties were a blast. Our entertainment director, Schwartz, was very entertaining and really made the whole cruise a lot more enjoyable. The service was great. Most people were very helpful and friendly and remembered names. We did an excursion at St. Thomas and we did the Turtle Cove snorkel. It was AMAZING and I would highly recommend doing this excursion. Grand Turk was very busy as there were multiple boats there so the beach was packed before we even got off the ship. There were no chairs anywhere so we had no choice but to go to the pool. Puerto Rico was a port I have been to before. Lots of little shops and places set up selling things but other than that there was not much to do. The next topic is the things that bothered me most. My boyfriend and I bought the endless bubbles package. It was not endless. You could only get a drink if you were sailing unless you wanted to pay taxes. The package did not include a cup to refill. You had to stand and wait at the bar to get a drink. Also, if you were thirsty after 2am it was water or nothing. There was no way of getting a drink at night because all of the bars closed and that was the only way to get a drink. Also, every bar closed at about 12-1 am except the casino bar. So if you wanted a drink you had to go all the way down to the casino until they closed at 2 as well. We did not get our use out of our drink package at all and a lot of people we talked to did not even buy the drink package but were still being served drinks. The buffet hours were very weird and things opened and closed at weird times. The only thing open late was pizza which sucked. The food itself was not great. The food choices at dinner were horrible. The desserts at dinner were horrible as well. The buffet was hit or miss but for the most part it was not too bad. The desserts at the buffet were great. The burger joint was probably the best food on the entire boat. Lastly, the picture situation. They took amazing pictures so we wanted to buy all of them like we did on RC. There was absolutely no option to buy all of our pictures. If we wanted them all it was $600. On Royal Caribbean for $300 we got all of our pictures on a flash drive that we got to take home with us. Overall, our experience was not great. We will not be sailing with Carnival again and will be going back to Royal Caribbean. Read Less
