Would definitely choose a Cove Balcony again. They are more private and close to the water.

We were not under the galley so spared that noise, but did hear theater from time to time. Loved the balcony but it was often wet from rough seas. Some rattles kept waking us up. Tons of storage. Good deck location- close to getting on ... Read More

I did not LOVE the cove balcony. It was ok, I don't regret trying it and the location was very convenient (2290) but I don't think I would ever book one again. It was always wet and sticky....salt I am guessing/hoping! I also felt my view was very restricted and felt boxed in. Finally, one day my husband was sitting on the balcony reading on his iPad and a HUGE bucket of soapy water came down and soaked him!!! It was 11am on a sea day so not like it was a port day and we received a warning saying they were cleaning decks! After that, we were all scared to sit out there. Read Less

Plenty of room, balcony gets pretty wet from spray, I mean puddles, then it dries and you have salt piles. But being close to water was great.

Great Cruise : Cabin 2284
Sail Date: January 2016
Loved the Cove Balcony. Closer to the water and more private than a regular balcony. Inside the cabin was standard cruise ship style. They haven't changed much in 20 years but this ship is relatively new so it's in great shape.

We had a cove balcony on deck 2, cabin 2333. We had plenty of space for our family of 4. I was a little apprehensive as we usually have a balcony on upper decks and I wasn't sure I would like being so low. I actually ended up loving it. Being close to the water does give one more of the sense of being at sea. There were lifeboats above, but we still got sun, depending how the chair was positioned one could choose sun or shade much of the time. Of course this will depend on your itinerary and what direction you are sailing. We had no noise, smell, or motion problems. This cabin is mid ship and we were between 2 sets of stairs/elevators. It was more convenient than I thought it would be getting to lido pools and kid club area. It was very nice to just go up 1 flight to get to lobby and dining room, and extra nice to just walk up or down 2 flights on port days for getting on and off the boat rather than waiting for elevators. Note: these balconies have metal railings rather than glass panels, and there is a ledge about a foot up that is incredibly tempting for children to climb up upon placing them in a dangerously high position when looking over the top rail. Great location, no unusual noises. Was a connecting stateroom. Only downside if you are using it to the connecting room and want 1 big balcony you can't. The balcony will open to the room not connecting (which is very weird) but because of how the storm doors open they can't do it. Read Less

wonderful- spacious, clean and close to the water- despite the negative reviews there was no noise from the galley above.
