I struggle with this review...we've only sailed on Carnival, this was our 9th cruise, and this was our first cruise post-covid. Of our 9 cruises, 7 have been from NYC due to its proximity to our home. Overall it was a fine cruise, nothing super great, nothing super bad, but just some wear and tear on the brand that we're seeing:
1) Embarkation. We actually felt that this was wonderful, ...
We chose the Carnival Legend from Baltimore to Bermuda because it was only a 2 hour drive from NJ, the dates worked well for us, and we did not want to fly to a cruise port as we did previously. This is our 3rd time cruising on Carnival (we have also cruised Royal) and this ship would rank 3rd if we ranked all 3 Carnival ships we have been on.
I guess the theme here is "lowered expectations". ...
From the beginning to the end was horrible. I've been on 7 cruises and this one I was miserable. You first get to the ship and so unorganized and not knowing where to go. One line you would get in to be told no go to another line then a long line with gaps outside and people just jumping in wherever to get a green dot. 2 hrs in line to go inside to another line . Another hour later lead to another ...
I chose this cruise as it left from a port than was about 1.5 hours away. Drove from Philly to NYC. Paid $160 for parking at the terminal. My two daughters ( ages 5 and 12) went with me. We dropped our bag at the terminal, parked, and went into the terminal. Went through the checkpoints rather easily and quickly. No issues, Waited about 20 minutes in the terminal before we boarded the ship. Rooms ...
Just came back from a quick cruise with family. It was our first cruise back since before covid. Not sure short staffed, covid changes or cutting back; but long long lines everywhere. Big events with a lot of people in the evening and no food to be found or just pizzeria and Deli open with an hour wait or more. If you had the drink package long lines to get a beverage. The quality of food was ...
Before covid and having a kid, my wife and I cruised extensively on Princess, NCL and Royal Caribbean. We always thought of Carnival as too kid-focused and had low expectations of the service.
We chose a cheap/short cruise to Bermuda from our home port of NY to see how our 4 year old likes cruising. It just so happened that we got a good deal on booking close to sailing, so we rolled the dice ...
Let me first tell you that I have sailed 36 times on nine different cruise lines in eight different ports and the experience that I had in New York was the worst I have ever seen. Upon arrival at the port, it became very clear that the time they requested you to embark was a joke. We got in line just to enter the terminal and waited for an hour and a half just to get into the terminal! Once ...
We wanted to travel to Bermuda. This port was about 6 hours away from our home so we chose this ship. Getting to Port and parking was very easy. Check in for loading was painless. Then we began experiencing issues. Upon arrival at our room we were greeted with fans and furniture upside down. There had been a leak and no one thought we needed to know. We looked for someone to assist us for ...
Because it was leaving from Baltimore and had a few first time cruisers,Steward was very nice and pleasant but was no housekeeper towels were 3 colors beige, gray and white not his fault bed the first night had a unmaid sheet at the foot of bed so we did'nt know if it was left from last guess dissturbing. Diningroom beautiful servers very nice no one called me by name for the entire cruise we were ...
Food was the same menu as the previous 5-6 yrs. they sorely need a change!
Crew was very nice as always.
Amenities are average at best.
Loved Bermuda, needed to have more time there on second day.
On our way back from Bermuda, we were 5 hrs out of port headed back to Charleston, the ship started to list to the port side. They got it corrected then it listed really badly again, we ...
