Disappointed in this Cruise

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Carnival Horizon

This is my 10th cruise, and my 2nd, and last, on Carnival, it was also the most expensive cruise that I have ever taken, and was not worth the money. I could have taken a 7 day cruise for less money. The Horizon is a brand new ship. HUGE but the passenger to crew ratio is not appropriate. The crew was very friendly and helpful, but finding a waiter on the open deck for drinks was ridiculous. I ...

Kudos to Chris the Flying Scotsman for making my cruise. Beautiful ship, lots of outdoor activities for teens. Great staff at teen club C. Decent BBQ at Pig and Anchor. Guys’ burgers and fries were good as was the deli. Pools are a joke. Havana cabins had their own until 7pm. What a total waste of space The aft pool was a sea of bodies. . Adult area Serenity, decent but a trek ...

Slightly disappointing experience...

This is my third Carnival cruise and it was pretty average. The ship is big and it never felt overly crowded. Everything was new but nothing really wowed me. As far as staff goes, the cruise director was pretty personable, but could have been more interactive. We met some great crew members who really made our experience nice, especially the guys in Guy's Pig & Anchor. Some of the bartenders ...

I consider myself a seasoned cruiser (10th cruise) and I have traveled on Carnival 4 times in total. I also consider myself to be tolerant and fair when I give reviews, understanding all it takes to run an operation like a cruise ship. However, I can say that I was disappointed on the Horizon and felt that the organization of staff and the events were not well executed. FOOD: As a new ...

First displeased cruise with Carnival

I have been on over 8 cruises with Royal, Norwegian, Disney and Carnival lines but by far this cruise has been my most unpleasant. I thought this ship being brand new would be great. Unfortunately it was not. It is a bigger ship but the shops, cafe's, and theater's are small. Not large enough to accommodate the guest on board. They had more cabins than entertainment facilities. There ...

Decent time on the Horizon

Just returned from a cruise to Bermuda on the brand new Horizon. Below are my main takeaways, starting with the good and ending with the bad. The good: - The cruise director and entertainment staff were very present at nearly all times of the day. They did a great job creating a fun and lively atmosphere aboard the ship. The activities were typical Carnival… dance parties, bingo and so on… ...

We had a w/c accessible cabin (6182) for my mom who is in a w/c, myself and a friend. First for the god- Embarkation and disembarkation was easier than anything ever experienced on any other cruise ship/line. The crew was great/very very attentive to needs and went above and beyond, especially to help with my mom and make her feel included (she is 84). The cruise director, Leigh, was phenomenal. ...

Wanting to go to Bermuda from Florida, the only ship available was the Carnival Elation from Jacksonville, an eight day cruise beginning April 7th. My husband and I have sailed on Carnival before, the last time being in the winter of 2015. Although we do not frequent the clubs or the casino, we have always enjoyed the comfort of the cabins, the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff, the ...

Travelled to Bermuda from Norfolk two years ago with Carnival. Many extended families, seemingly with navy affiltiation of some sort were on that 7-day cruise. In 2017, Norfolk not available for a 7 day, so chose to debark from Baltimore to take advantage of a full 7 day cruise, allowing for more time in Bermuda. This time, we saw mostly just small groups or couples. We read Pride has a ...

We chose this cruise because we knew several people who had gone on it. First of all dealing with Carnival is a nightmare they can be so rude totally unhelpful. We wanted a cabin above the 3rd deck because of a horrible experience on a lower deck on Royal Caribbean. We ended up on the 1st deck no choice. Embarkation was a nightmare(not their fault). The ship was late arriving because of fog. ...
