The European ports MADE this cruise! Sorry the ship is moving to the caribbean. As far as the ship itself: noticed definitely lower ceilings in many areas (my husband had to duck to avoid head trauma!), and the "show" areas were oddly designed leaving many obstructed view seats in all the show lounges. Carnival's attempt to make these multi-purpose venues made them not-quite-right for any.

Would definitely recommend this ship, and we do not usually sail with Carnival. Chose this cruise because we loved the itinerary and long days in each port. We knew this was a very port intensive cruise rather than a laid back relaxing cruise like going to the Caribbean. We mostly joined many private excursions which saved us a great deal of money, and allowed us to travel comfortably and meet ...
We have never cruised before, envisioning cruises as a boring places. where you just ate and read books all day. We opted to cruise the Mediterranean because we are a family of four (two children ages 8 and 11) and it seemed like a great way to get an overview of the area without having to change hotels everyday and waste time on trains getting from place to place. I am pleased to say that our ...
I had a great cruise on the Vista and would definitely go on her again.
I will now tell you about the things I liked and did not like as much about the Vista.
The Ship -
I really liked the look of the Vista from the outside, from the shore side. Also I thought the outside decks and amenities were great. I loved the Havana pool bar and outside area. One really good thing that the Vista ...
We traveled via Eurostar and TGV to Barcelona from London and had 2 nights in Barcelona before boarding Carnival Vista. We purchased Hop on Hop Off Turisme bus tickets for our day in Barcelona and traveled the whole of all 3 routes in the day, jumping off at various points. Barcelona is a wonderful city and we hope to return sometime to do it more justice than you can possibly do in a day. ...
The cruise was very smooth and well operated from the on boarding to the debarkation. The new "choose you time" for on boarding must be working as it was the fastest we have ever gotten on a ship from the time we walked into the terminal. The crew was well trained and there were very few "start up" issues. The food selections in the Lido restaurant were limited however all of the upscale ...
The Vista was a new ship. Good foo and the staff was OK since they were all new. The last night in a two day port stay in Athens was not very good. The Ship had let half the staff go ashore the night before and were under staff the last day on the ship and very little was scheduled for the last night. By 11:30 pm the place was like a ghost town
The port call for Florance was on a Monday - a ...
Good - the staff. Every one gave 110%. We often were greeted with "welcome back" as if the staffer recognized us from a prior cruise - or from a prior day onboard - or observed our color-coded prior cruiser room card. In any event, a nice feeling.
Good - the ship decor, cleanliness, and appointments. As a new ship, the cleanliness was to be expected, but the pleasant decor was a plus. Other ...
Looking a cruise and seen this in May and so the price was good we upgraded to a spa room which was well worth it if going to use the spa a lot which we did before dinner.Food was not warm first night but got better as the week went on ,it really is a ship for family but up in serenity its Adults only but hard to find a pod ,staff lifted left towels if left longer than 40 minutes which is fair. ...
My husband and I traveled on this cruise. We choose this cruise because we loved the itinerary on the Vista with stops in Sicily, Naples, Rome, Florence, Marseilles, Palma de Mallorca and back to Barcelona. We also loved how big the ship is and for the most part it never felt crowded, except by the pools.
Embarkation went pretty quick for us. We choose the 2 pm time to board and we were ...
