I chose this cruise because it was a good deal for a balcony cabin. We had always wondered about those huge balconies aft of some cruise ships and we were able to book the aft most starboard cabin. We had a balcony with 3 lounge chairs and 4 chairs with a starboard and aft view. We had plenty of storage space. Unfortunately we had ring around the toilet a first for a cruise.
In the dining room ...
I never sailed on Carnival so I thought I would give it a try. Was not happy. First off I had read a recent review and the complaints were the windows being so dirty you couldn't see out of them and a sewage smell in the ship. yes I did witness that smell on certain decks but not my deck (9) thankfully and the buffet seating area had big windows which were in fact so dirty you could not see out ...
My wife talked me into going on a cruise with her brother his wife and a group of friends. I have always thought i would not enjoy a cruise. I was wrong i did enjoy it. The food was great the fellowship with family and friends was great. I loved key west and will go back sometime when i can spend more time there. The service crew was great every one was great until time to get off the ship. We had ...
This was our 19th cruise, 17th on Carnival. We had been on the Elation 2 previous times, so we were familiar with the ship. The only disadvantage on taking one of the Fantasy class ships is the lack of balcony cabins. Other than that, the small size is just right for getting around and a lot of open deck.
The Jacksonville port is not much to look at, but I guess you can call it funtional. ...
We chose this cruise because it left from Jacksonville, FL and went to Key West, FL and Nassau Bahamas, two places we had never been. Our travel agent warned us that it was an old ship. The ship did show its age, but everything was clean and nothing needed repair. The highlight of the cruise for us was the efficiency and friendliness of the crew. Our head waiter Joseph was the best we have had on ...
After reading all the negative reviews of the Elation I didn't know what to expect. I was greatly surprised. The ship was clean, The Grand Suite was awesome ( a few signs of aging) The Service EVERYWHERE on the ship was excellent. The dining room staff, Guest Relations, Cabin crew and the bar crew were all extremely nice and helpful. The embarkation process was not as smooth as it had been in ...
Ship rocked and vibrated more than our last cruise ship but not bad. No storms but a bit windy. Food and pools are mostly on deck 9 which gets crowded. The cabin was on deck 1 - not recommended due to constant engine noise. Dining room: Great food! - but slow service sometimes, figure on waiting a while between each course. Buffet good. But sometimes long lines for Guys hamburgers (also good) and ...
We chose this sailing because we wanted to see Half Moon Cay, and it was near enough to drive to the port. The people that work on the Elation were wonderful, always smiling and saying hello. They worked very hard so that we had a wonderful vacation. It was a little rough doing 3 ports in 5 days, I personally will extend that out to 7 days from now on. We arrived at the port and was on board ...
We chose this cruise because we thought it would have a lot of children's activities. Our 4 year old was too little for the slide. The daycare was mostly free play and tv in a small room, not the educational cruise we thought.
To compare the Crown Princess (cp) with the Elation: First of all, we had a 2 hours wait in customs and security for the Elation. There is a small opening of time to get ...
First warning, we are Platinum and I had a knee scooter due to an ankle injury. The priority embarkation is a free for all. I was literally trampled as they don't actually allow Platinum and Diamond guests to board first. Once we were finally allowed to start boarding they opened the gate and everyone rushed in line. Those who were had suites, were platinum or diamond were not given priority ...
