I chose this cruise because it was a good deal for a balcony cabin. We had always wondered about those huge balconies aft of some cruise ships and we were able to book the aft most starboard cabin. We had a balcony with 3 lounge chairs and 4 chairs with a starboard and aft view. We had plenty of storage space. Unfortunately we had ring around the toilet a first for a cruise.

This was our 19th cruise, 17th on Carnival. We had been on the Elation 2 previous times, so we were familiar with the ship. The only disadvantage on taking one of the Fantasy class ships is the lack of balcony cabins. Other than that, the small size is just right for getting around and a lot of open deck.

After reading all the negative reviews of the Elation I didn't know what to expect. I was greatly surprised. Ship rocked and vibrated more than our last cruise ship but not bad. No storms but a bit windy. Food and pools are mostly on deck 9 which gets crowded.
