We chose this cruise because it was the Music City Concert Cruise. We didn't care which ports we were visiting because for us it was all about the concerts we were going to hear.
It started from the beginning - with embarkation. Due to an accident on the roadway we did not arrive at the ship until after 2:00pm. We had to carry all our luggage on ourselves. Thankfully we were able to go ...
So let me start off by saying if this is your first cruise it will probably exceed your expectations because you have nothing to compare it to. However this is my third cruise and the third cruise line I’ve taken . In the past I’ve taken royal Caribbean and Norwegian. Carnival cruise line came in last place. I’m going o review the cabin, staff, food, and activities.
The cabin: (3/5) The cabin ...
My 5-Night cruise aboard Carnival's Elation from Jacksonville, FL to the Bahamas accomplished my primary goal: relaxation. This was my first Carnival cruise, my first cruise out of Jacksonville, FL, and my first Solo cruise! I was impressed with Carnival and would go on them again. The Jaxport was easy to get to and embarkation/debarkation easy. And Solo-cruising...what's not to like? I got to do ...
The Elation has been kept up beautifully and she doesn't show her age. New carpeting, paint, and loving care has done wonders to keep her in her original 'glory days' condition. I booked last minute and was able to snag the last available cabin, which happened to be an ocean view on the Riviera Deck, aft, port side, just above the water level; it was fresh, roomy, plenty of storage, and even a ...
I had never cruised before so wanted to see what it was like. Was told this was a nice ship but nobody informed you that the second floor smells like cigarette smoke and it seeps down to the first floor deck so I felt like one big cigarette. You cannot even go in the Casino without your throat hurting or chocking on the cigarette smoke. It is so unfair to those that want to gamble but cannot ...
This last cruise was my 6th with Carnival and my 2nd time on the Pride. I was last on the Pride 10 years ago and was pleasantly surprised by a lot of refurbishments and additions they've made since then. This class of ship is the 2nd smallest in Carnival's fleet, but with all the facilities it has, you aren't missing out on much that the bigger ships have except for the crowds. In fact, on all my ...
My husband and I (ages 56 and 61) chose this cruise to have a a mid-winter vacation. Baltimore is only a three hour drive from our home in central PA. The timing was great because we missed the Polar Vortex. We arrived at the port during our scheduled time. Parking was easy and close. Costs $15 a day which we paid on the way in. There was no wait for embarkation. We each brought a bottle of wine in ...
This cruise was booked last minute. We decided to sail out of Charleston SC for the first time. Usually sail out of Baltimore or one of the Florida ports but decided to try Charleston as it was only a 2 hour drive from home. Was a little concerned after reading reviews of the port and the ship. Have sailed on this class ship before so we were somewhat familiar. We arrived at the port at our ...
We have not sailed on Carnival for the last 13 years. We actually started off on Carnival for our first 3 cruises and then we moved up to Royal Caribbean starting off with the 15th sailing of the Freedom of the Seas. We have stuck with RC ever since that sailing with the exception of one Disney Cruise in 2008, which was also very nice.
With that said we will not be coming back to Carnival ...
