This was our 12th Carnival cruise. We drove to Charleston the night before the cruise and stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites about 20 minutes from the port. Check in in Charleston was seamless. Great to be with an older girls cruise for the long weekend. Friendly service. Food so-so and always only mildly warmed in dining room. Bread very hard. We chose this cruise because it disembarks out of Baltimore and it was easy to get to. This is why I'm giving it 2 stars: 1. Our room had a squeaky bunkbed that squeaked all night long; a really LOUD shrieking non-stop sound. The beds in our cabin were uncomfortable and the A/C was subpar. We normally have very comfortable matrices on Carnival cruises. Public bathrooms and areas need a deep cleaning and more attention though out the cruise. Many of the deck chairs need replacing. We noticed stains and tears in the Serenity deck clam shell cushions. My husband and I went with another couple to the Bahamas on Carnival Pride March 10, 2019. We were super impressed with how clean the ship was. Staff seemed to be cleaning all the time.
