This was another cancelled, cancelled, cancelled past cruise caused by covid, but at least we got some obc spending money which paid for drinks and other items.
We enjoyed the cruise thanks to meeting some other couples that we joined up with triveas and general company, this really is what cruising is all about.
We only went to the Lido and other free eateries around it ( The Indian, BBQ, ...
Iam a seasoned cruiser that have cruised around Australia and the world over the past 25 years. This cruise ship is the worst that I have experienced. During the cruise I was aware of the lack of hygiene protocols on board and was constantly washing my hands with soap and water when ever possible and also using the hand sanitizer in the buffet and food area. On the second day after arriving home ...
We booked Great Barrier Reef From Sydney leaving in early May 2023, including a 3 night stay in Sydney with Cruise1st in the UK. It was a great price for the basic cabin and flights and would allow us to see Singapore (as a stopover) Sydney & the Great Barrier Reef. This is the fifth cruise we have been on and our first with Carnival.
Carnival Splendor is the second largest ship we have been ...
First Cruise on Carnival Splendor since Covid, bit of step back from Celebrity Eclipse few weeks back, but hey the price difference says it all.
This was a transferred from a transfer etc from Covid so I was happy Carnival gave us spending money so we could sit back and have some drinks etc. yippie.
I think it is easier just to list what I thought was good and not so good.
Good - ...
This was our third cruise with carnival. The first two being prior to covid.
The boat is like a big floating RSL club. Super understaffed compared to last trips and way over crowded.
The line at buffet was 20 minutes , to get pizza or bar service was even worse due to minimal staff.
Tender boats have also been reduced to two boats for entire ship to get to the shore, so we waited 5 hours ...
The real stand out were the people, both staff and fellow passengers.
The staff were all really friendly and helpful. Also, after a couple of days the passengers had relaxed and it was really nice being amongst so many people who were their best selves. Everyone was chatting with strangers and that doesn’t generally happen in normal life.
The food was excellent. In the main dining room we ...
BOARDING:
This cruise did not start well. The line to board was not something I have ever experienced before - as this was my 15th cruise I had experienced everything from "almost instant boarding" to "wait in line" but nothing prepared us for the more than three hour wait - and we had already done the online check in! The ship was supposed to leave at 4pm, but they hadn't boarded all the ...
this is the worst ship I have ever been on for maintenance and services that ship is not been fully refinished the outside of the ship is in poor shape the flooring or deck of the ship is very dangerous to walk on my wife had a major fall the first day on the ship and received major injuries the ship head explain they do not have time to repair so we had to leave the ship 5 days later and fly home ...
My wife and I took a nine day cruise up the Australian coast departing from Sydney. Biggest port of call was Cairns and a couple of smaller places in Queensland. My biggest error was selecting a cruise right dab in the middle of a school semester break resulting in hundreds of kids joining us on the cruise. While the ship officially holds about 3100 folks, a couple of times the announced number ...
No information regarding port or boarding processes rude unhelpful staff. My kids were so bored they said they wanted to jump overboard . Food was average lined up like being served at a homeless shelter. Drunk domestics kept us awake for hours security should of sorted it not let it go on all night with yelling foul language and kids screaming. I spoke to guest services about it and no air con ...
