I chose this cruise to go to Komodo Island. On boarding I found my cabin (no one giving directions at all) upon entering what was supposed to be a wheelchair cabin I found I could not access the toliet as the beds blocked the way. Contacted room steward and was told someone would come sort it out it took 7 hours before someone arrived not to sort it out but to ask if I wanted my room done ...

The Carnival Splendor has been given a makeover and spruced up a bit so as to operate out of Australia. A paint job and some new furniture cannot alter the fact that it has some really hideous decor. It was a good time of the year to be out of Australia. So Singapore to Sydney sounded good Cruise was just average in terms of dining and entertainment. The formal dining - service was very good from Ilham and staff. The food was so/so. Had a great value package with flights, hotel and cruise pricing. Also like the repositioning cruises with many sea days. Carnival only does this cruise every 4 years when the Spirit goes to Singapore for maintenance. Reason for this trip - Komodo and my wife has been raving about her last trip. Staff the best of any cruise. Kitchen quality control woeful. - Mad hatter tea party, no coffee, sandwiches curling up - stale. Trout served as Barramundi. Dinner roles the stalest I have had anywhere.
