The itenary started out good, but due to circumstances beyond their control we were unable to complete the tours originally booked. The traditional dining food was good, the menu unexciting and the service was disappointing. Our CABIN(E214) was situated a floor above the Princess theatre and as a result we were bombarded with continual noise from about 11 am to 11 pm. Also the cigarette smoke from the casino seemed to permeated the floor from the stairs to the forward sections. The CABIN itself needed a lot of repairs walls with gouges, toilet repairs and the thermostat could not maintain temperature. We experienced great service at Vines, International Cafe and with our room steward. The ship needs upgrades to their internet service, the in room televisions, and the delivery system. It uses an analog cable system providing noise and distortion in the video. Our room safe locked our items with a low battery display just before debarcation to a prepaid tour. Often when we called for maintenance, they sent someone illprepared to fix the problem. I had to tell their customer service people twice that they weren't providing service and needed to escalate the issue to get resolution. Read Less

First Princess cruise and expected better. Disappointed. Very limited entertainment, the few things scheduled in the evening would be at the same time. ie: A bean bags toss-- really -- cruisers average age maybe 55. Attended by about 6 people, lasted ten mins. Technical problems with live musical, so cruise directors solution-- starting a balloon passing with out dropping it through audience-- two balloons... Disappointed with lack of beef on md menu. I had to ask several days for the "hot " milk for oatmeal in the buffet to be reheated. Great salad items in buffet. Tried burgers and fries horrible-- not sure what kind of meat mixture it was but not just beef, cold, greasy fries. A lot of small issues but they added up to many disappointments and delayed meals.Outdoor movie selection was very bad. several days movies geared to children. Total # of children on board 3. Embarkation was 4 hours late in starting, no heat for days despite 40 degrees outside. Numerous calls and visits to desk were put on back burner. Excursion very expensive and the worst we've ever taken. Taken to Paris given ticket and when clearing security us, and several others were dumped no guide no group. Had to search for group and had no time to check out area or even to pickup a souvenir. One couple was actually left in Paris and had to take a taxi back to the boat, a 3 hour ride. Our bus and another was late getting back, but they did wait. Hopefully it'll improve, but be weary. The new bedding is nice but duvet is weird and constantly separates. New design in buffet area nice but same food and only one choice of carved meat nightly. Really disappointed with princess and this cruise. Hopefully this will improve over time. Read Less

Cruise was going to Norway and Iceland before arriving in NYC. The ports were delightful to visit especially Iceland. There were a number of new ports for me. Norway was as spectacular as usual especially Flaam. The big disappointment was not being able to visit the Shetland Islands, which was the big drawing card for me. The seas were too rough and although we anchored, we did move on to the northern tip where it was calmer but this was for an inspection of the propulsion system. But we could see the countryside from the ship. The weather was much colder and wetter than I expected. Had an unexpected delay in Reykavik due to high winds which prevented us from leaving the pier. The captain, a new one, was visible on the ship nearly every day. The crew was excellent as usual. One thing that irritates me are those people who come very late to the assigned dining room. Some people came in 45 minutes or more late and the waiters have to be gracious to them and serve them. It is not fair to the waiters. Those people can go to the Lido deck or anytime dining when they are that late. I would like to see a stand taken on this in the future. The ship needs a little updating. Drawers in nightstand kept sliding in and out during the rough seas. Some painted areas had chips on them. But then the ship has been around. The excursions were very good and our guides were excellent. For those ports that are far away from town, there should be a cheaper shuttle offered for those not taking excursions. Read Less

Mainly chose this cruise for the number of sea days, knowing it would be an older crowd. Also chose Princess, having cruised 20+times on a variety of ships and companies. The seas were excellent, the food was the best we have ever had on a ship, and no cruise company trains their people as well as Princess. Our room was immaculate, had VERY comfortable beds and small issues were addressed (burnt out lightbulb, requested bathrobes,) immediately by our great cabin steward, Henry. We loved the heated panini sandwiches at the international cafe. The Crown room meal was worthy of Five stars! And those hot dogs! And milk shakes ( Read Less
