First of all my loyalty level with Princess is Elite so I have sailed with them numerous times. I just retuned from a Dec. 10 - Dec. 20, 2019 cruise on Caribbean Princess. We had a great time. We had two mini suites next door to each other. We loved eating in the main dining room and find it much better food than the buffet. The buffet setup encourages people to overeat. We ate at the Crown Grill and loved everything about it - superb service, delicious food, and wonderful ambiance. We visited countries close to the equator and they are hot and humid all year long. Luckily we did not encounter any rain except on Jamaica, our last port. Our room attendant was Christine, and she was amazing being helpful in every way. The ship was decorated for Christmas and the final night we participated in a sing-a-long in the atrium. Grand Turks - went on excursion, the Rainbow Calypso Tram where he drove us around the island. Highlight was seeing the donkeys near the lighthouse. In Cartagena, Columbia we went on the scenic drive of Cartagena and San Pedro Claver Church. Nice tour but as day progressed so did the heat and humidity - no one's fault but unbearable. Panama Canal partial transit very interesting and excellent speaker/commentary. The new locks are huge and interesting to see. Well planned and everyone was able to enjoy it that chose to participate. In Limon, Costa Rica we went on the excursion Limon Waterfront and Backstreet Canals. Loved this! We saw a beautiful island up close with its natural beauty and in the canals we saw several sloths. Go on the first tour of the day! In Montego Bay, Jamaica we went on the scenic drive which was a disappointment partially due to the rain. Montego Bay is a vision of poverty. Very sad to see the conditions in which the locals live. Resorts are beautiful but obviously provide to help to the island improving itself. This was not our first cruise on the Caribbean Princess nor will it be our last. Read Less

Chose this cruise to see Panama Canal. Had the opportunity to see some South American countries for the first time. Stops at ports were a great experience for the entire family. We will take Princess Cruise again in next two years. Shore excursions were set up in an orderly manner. Easy to get on and off ship unlike Carnival that is a free for all. Free movies to watch plus we watched the news daily. Rooms extremely clean; buffet was excellent; staff service was top notch on entire ship. Checking in luggage and getting to our room was very fast. Only complaint was baggage handlers tore the hell out of one of our check off bags getting off ship. We will carry our own bags on and off ship from now on. Loved the dedicated daily night dancing on 18th deck. Great dj playing music on daily basis. The comic Bengt was worse comedian I had ever heard. He needs to get a new career. The second comedian Scott Weyler was very funny. Read Less

It was my husband (45) , myself (44) & my daughter (20). It was a grad from college trip for my daughter! Food was delicious! Entertainment amazing. Loved Project 5 , performances, etc. Buffet was awesome and tonneau of variety and vegetarian options for myself. Pop package was disappointing with only one diet option of Diet Coke. We were used to royal Caribbean any diet flavour. Dining room was great food but not great vegetarian options . Excursions we did 3 with ship and 2 on our own. Short port times in a few places though . Very relaxing cruise as not a lot of activities on board as per our previous cruise experiences on royal Caribbean. Read Less

I've cruised 23 times prior to this cruise on four different cruise lines. We decided to give Princess a try. I was underwhelmed. The ship was very nice, easy to maneuver around. We had an ocean view cabin, it was spacious and clean. I really liked how an interior wall separated the room from the closet. This was useful when someone was sleeping and your other half needed to get clothing from the closet. Dining.....the food was ok. Nothing special. We tried one specialty restaurant, Steamers. As a huge seafood fan, I expected more. I was not impressed. The absolute best part of the trip was the Entertainment staff. The cruise director Duvaul, his assistant Jerry and the ship's Dj, DJ Kev White. These guys brought so much energy to every activity. They we're very inclusive and you could tell they enjoyed their jobs. Overall the service on the ship was adequate, nothing special. The ports we're what I expected, however, because we we're late to Panama, we we're unable to get off the boat. Major Bummer. Another plus was the embarkation & disembarkation. They we're very smooth. I'd give this vacation an 8 out of 10 based primarily on the itinerary (able to see the Panama Canal at work and the entertainment staff). I do have another Princess cruise booked for June 2020, a 30 day cruise that I'm super excited about. I hope that one exceeds my expectations. Read Less

We had been planning with some friends of doing a New England Fall colors tour for more than a year and selected this cruise due to (1) reasonable cost and (2) itinerary and (3) prior experience with Princess. We have always enjoyed Princess for it's service, dependable food, and moderate pricing. Some highlights of our cruise: A. We were a bit startled when we received an email about a day before boarding (NYC) informing us that we would be boarding late due to a virus outbreak on the previous cruise. This left us a bit apprehensive but it turned out well because very few people got sick on our week. One major reason for this was Princess went to extraordinary lengths making sure passengers didn't touch food in the buffet area and that we all washed and sanitized our hands before eating or socializing with other passengers (I've never washed my hands so much in my life!) All in all, the results were worth it though. B. Leaving from New York City harbor at sunset is a great experience! Went close to the Statue of Liberty and a great view of Manhattan sailing away. This was partly due to great weather on most of our trip (only the last several days in Canada were a bit rainy and cool). C. The itinerary was, for the most part, great - Newport, Boston, Bar Harbor, Halifax, St. John (NB) and Quebec City were spectacular. The only stop that didn't rock our boat, so to speak, was Sydney. While the tour of Alexander Graham Bell's museum was extremely interesting, we're not sure a full day stop in Sydney was warranted. All the other stops were very good - our favorites included Newport, Boston, Bay Harbor, Halifax, and Quebec City. Princess handled all of our shore excursions and did a good job. We always feel they tend to be a bit "pricey" on excursions (compared to doing them yourselves) but they handled everything well. The ship was in good shape and the crew handled it well - we have cruised on this "class" Princess before but this was the first one that had the higher capacity (about 3,000 passengers). It seemed a bit crowded at times (especially in the buffet and the Princess Theater) but overall they handled it well. On the entertainment, the production (or what we refer to as "Broadway") shows were outstanding (Princess keeps getting better on entertainment). The other shows (cabaret singer and a cello/vocal duo) were also very good and the magician they had on board was the best we've every seen. Surprisingly, for late September/early October, we didn't see as much "color" as we would have expected until we got to Quebec. There it was very good. Overall, though it was a great cruise which we would do again. Read Less

We received a Princess brochure which included Canadian Maritime Provinces and Greenland. It peaked our interest, particularly Greenland which is an unusual destination. We felt it would be an ideal place to visit before it shows up on more itineraries and gets overrun with "tourist" shops; jewelry stores and t shirt shops etc. The itinerary was 16 days, but only 6 ports, so a lot of sea days which are relaxing. We sailed on Caribbean Princess before and enjoyed the ship. Good weather and enjoyed the ports taking 2 Princess excursions in Canada (Halifax and Sydney). We opted for a Hop-on-off in St Johns which was excellent and inexpensive. Greenland tours were extremely expensive and limited so we decide to explore on our own and were pleased with that decision. Tendering at 2 Greenland ports was awful, taking over 2 hours or more. Princess did a dreadful job handling this and they have been to Greenland before so they should have planned better. Very interesting places and very glad we took the trip. Rustic. Almost like a glimpse into the past! Overall meals were very good but not great but we did opt for a few specialty restaurants and these were great. Princess buffet dining is OK for breakfast or lunch but not really as well organized as some other cruise lines. Entertainment was probably excellent however seating was far too limited because of the show times of 6:30 and 8:30pm wherein many people ate at 5pm and went to both shows. Really good music is lounges with something for everyone. Finally, this was a Medallion Class ship. Princess loves this concept but frankly it is much like the cruise card with more chances to buy drinks and gamble, and might be fun for kids. I didn't think much of it. Read Less

Let me start by saying that the actual ship is very nice and we had a nice trip. PROS: The cruise directors, Andrew & Andy, were really fun. The entertainment was very good. We enjoyed the various trivia games, there was a great magician, awesome juggler, and very interesting high-tech lights\video\music act. The food was great in both formal dining room and buffet. They have great video screen at the pool that plays recent movies (that you can also view later in your cabin). There are fun "touch screens" on every floor where you can locate the people you are travelling with, see deck plans, the entertainment schedule, AND there is fun "explorer puzzle game" for the kids to play. There are 3 regular sized pools (one is private one for adults only near the spa), and one very small "kid's area pool", so there are different options. I think they make good use of the space and boat doesn't feel too large (or too small). Also, very "non pressure" from the staff. I've been on some cruises where they are always trying to sell you things, but this ship wasn't like that. Stops on our cruise were awesome. In particular I loved Quebec City, & Prince Edward Island. Halifax is nice, but a bit more of a bustling city. Sidney Nova Scotia is cute town but a "young port" so tour options (e.g. if want to go to the Alexander Graham Bell museum) are limited if you don't book ahead. You can't even really even find a taxi. - - - CONS: There are limited shore excursions and most of the good ones they sold out months before the cruise. (Not sure why they can't see the high demand and arrange for additional tours). It ended working out OK for us though because we found that for most ports you can find alternative tours outside of the port for cheaper than Princess charges. The EXCEPTION though is the port of Sydney, Nova Scotia. If you don't book something ahead won't be able to find trips on short. The "app" (where you can order drinks and see entertainment schedule seems to be a bit of a work in progress (didn't work very well for me). I could see upcoming events schedule but never could do anything else with it. There was mystery "high seas heist" ongoing game that we participated in, which was semi-fun but sloppily run and slightly confusing. There is "kids club" for area but for some reason it is closed from Noon-to-2PM so it didn't work out well for my wife and I when we wanted to do some of the things like the art auction on the boat, or trivia. Also, the staff in the area are not that friendly, and per my kids (so take with grain of salt) they had strictly regimented task for them to follow. (e.g. they couldn't just draw, read, play video games or Foosball when there was an activity like "t-shirt painting" going on. You have to do what group is doing while in kids club, at least if you are in the 7-to-11 year old section). Perhaps not the cruise line's fault but found the "exit port" in Brooklyn NY to be run horribly. A lot of confusion, and they routed people into different lines... allowed people to cut in the lines... and ultimately you could just walk out of the port if you wanted to (there was no security check or anything) so all the confusion wasn't really necessary if they were better organized. Lastly, bad ratings to our cabin (E514), mostly because it is located directly above the lounge where loud music is played most nights. Read Less

My spouse and I had wanted to do a New England / Canada Cruise for sometime. We were fortunate enough to have benefited from a last minute sale from Princess Cruises that allowed us to experience this wonderful itinerary. Our experience aboard the Caribbean Princess was generally very good but there are some minor issues that should be reviewed by Princess in order to improve their service onboard this ship. We booked an Oceanview Cabin that was partially obstructed but were pleasantly impressed with the size of he cabin and the storage space that was available for us during this cruise. The bathroom on the other hand was quite small that lacked storage space for toiletries and one needed the skills of a contortionist to benefit from the space provided in the shower. Our Stateroom attendant was excellent and our cabin was kept in immaculate condition. We participated in the Anytime Dinning and our overall experience was varied depending in which dinning room we were assigned for that evening. In the evening some of the Dinning Rooms were at capacity when we arrived and the Maitre D would often assign us to another Dinning Room in order for us not to have to wait for a long time for a table. This resulted in mixed results in regards to the service we were provided by the staff, Generally the service was very good but on occasion the server would get the order wrong and the wait times for service would vary from a few minutes to one one occasion twenty minutes. The quality of the food in the Dinning rooms also varied from being very good to poor, Over the years we have observed, as well as other long time Princess Passengers, that the quality of food in the Dinning Room has somewhat deteriorated although it"s still better than many other Cruise Lines. On the other hand the food in the Buffett was surprisingly very good and the selection of food was impressive. We attended two speciality restaurants onboard the ship including the Italian and the BBQ Restaurants and found the service and food to be excellent. The entertainment onboard the ship was very good. The production shows were off a very good quality although one of the production shows experienced some technical problems and it was cancelled half way through the performance. The Princess Band, performers and cast members of the production shows were of a very high calibre. Outside of the never ending Art Auction so called Enrichment Programs there was nothing in regards to guest speakers to discuss the Historical significance of the ports we were visiting. Outside of Halifax we booked our excursions through the Princess and we enjoyed all of them. Most of our excursions were of walking variety and did require a certain level of fitness. Clearly these excursions should not be booked for people with any mobility issues. The only issue regarding excursions was what occurred during this cruise was in the Port of Newport. This Port required tendering in order to get ashore and the process that took place regarding this experience can only described as a fiasco! It took up to two hours for some passengers to get ashore through the tendering process from the ship. Needless to say there were a number of unhappy passengers on that day. Overall we did enjoy this cruise and we definitely would book another cruise with Princess. Read Less

Good, but not stellar for our first large ship cruise. While we were impressed with friendliness of the staff, general professionalism it had shortcomings in terms of a party boat and lacking the expected amenities and relaxing ambience for adults. Also a number of experienced cruisers commented that this did not rank highly in the Princess ship lineup or comparing to some of the other lines. But we now have a baseline for future comparison. The pool seen was generally way too crowded that generated into a party atmosphere some evenings. Lounge chairs were occasionally hard to find especially in a shady area as baking in the sun was not possible. Food service and quality was sometimes inconsistent in quality, although the presentations were very nice and attractive. The ships organization of activities overlapped not giving the opportunity to attend more than one. The desk services was sometime undermanned causing queues where we did not want to wait. Read Less

We spent 3 nights in Fort Lauderdale at a beach hotel prior to the cruise, and on the morning of departure we took a quick taxi to Port Everglades. The terminal was very busy but the lineups moved quickly and check in was fast and efficient. Our room was ready when we boarded the ship around 1:00 PM. The Caribbean Princess has been modernized, and we noticed the newer rugs, new pictures in our stateroom, and newer look to the ship in general. There is a new splash pad zone on the upper deck for kids, with several lounge chairs (some with clamshell type covers) nearby. We went ashore in Princess Cays, Bahamas, which is a busy beach with lots of room to spread out. We booked a cabana for the day, and it was nice to have a spot to regroup, cool down, or just take a break either indoor with the ac or outside on the shaded lounge chairs. We also went ashore in St. Thomas and took a bus tour & beach break. In St. Maarten we took a similar tour but spent more time on a beach with an included lunch. The weather cooperated the entire week and it was sunny and hot each and every day. Overall, we enjoyed our cruise very much. Our room steward did a good job, the wait staff in the restaurant (Club Class Dining) were very attentive, the front desk and shop staff were also very friendly and helpful. The ship is easy to navigate, and we found using the aft elevators very handy because they were less busy as compared to the midship elevators. The pool areas were a bit crowded on sea days but there was often a few chairs available in which to sit. We didn’t eat in the Marketplace cafeteria more than a few times; the sit down dining rooms provided a table, wait service, and less of a rush so it was more relaxing for us to eat in those venues when we could. For breakfast we generally ordered room service - one of our favourite ways to start the day! Our room was well laid out and spacious, with two windows & close to the water with very little noise or movement from the ship. The location couldn’t be beat: close to the Piazza, front desk, shops, and Coral Dining Room. Overall, a great week on the Caribbean Princess! Read Less

We overall enjoyed our cruise to the Eastern Caribbean. Our two interior cabins were clean and well kept. (It would have been nice for Princess to choose a floorplan that sacrificed a bit of closet space in order to expand the size of the shower, though. At 6'1", my "wingspan" in the shower was much more important than having six superfluous feet of closet space in which to hang a handful of dressy clothes.) The food was amazing and we very much enjoyed the shows and activities offered on the ship. Our excursions were top notch. Our girls spent most of their onboard time in the teen room, and had a blast with the planned activities. However, we had major problems with the Medallion system from the moment of embarkation. For some reason, my daughters and I were issued Medallions, but my husband was issued a key card. I still have no idea why ... I did nothing unusual with his booking process. We were told at embarkation that his Medallion would be ready by dinnertime. At dinnertime, no Medallion. Then we were told that it would be ready first thing in the morning. In the morning, no Medallion. We grew increasingly frustrated as we fell into a pattern of checking in at the service desk every 6-8 hours to be repeatedly told that his Medallion was still being processed. At one point, he asked what would happen if one of our girls lost her Medallion; he was told that a new one would be issued immediately. When he asked why such service couldn't be granted for him, we discovered that the key-card and Medallion databases were entirely separate entities, and he would have to be "created" as a new passenger in order to receive a Medallion. This finally did occur; he received his Medallion ... halfway through the cruise. Once his Medallion was activated, both he and our older daughter were able to track all of us, but my younger daughter and I could not track him. Ever. In addition, for a period of 36 hours, our younger daughter's Medallion dropped off the system and she was un-trackable as she moved about the ship. She was unable to do anything without being accompanied by her sister, with a properly working Medallion, as that was the only way we could ensure that we were able to keep tabs on where she was. When we raised this issue at the service desk, the clerk logged in to his iPad and showed us where she was at that moment. "See? She's perfectly safe!" he told us. We walked him over to the nearest public kiosk and showed him that his information was useless to us, as we couldn't see it ourselves. We felt like we weren't being heard. Not being able to verify her safety was only part of the problem; the larger issue was a faulty tracking system, completely out of our control. I had a scary moment, once both girls' Medallions were back online, when I went to track them and discovered that they were on different floors. The younger one was on a floor which contained only private cabins. She had no business being on such a floor. I raced down to her tracking location to discover that she wasn't there. I climbed six flights of stairs in a panic to find my older daughter in the teen room and ask where her sister was; I found both of them sitting together. I walked to the closest kiosk and logged in; my younger girl, sitting 15 feet away from me, was still registering as being on a cabin-only floor six levels below. Her Medallion location only reset when she logged herself into the kiosk. The Medallion system definitely gives great benefits ... when it works. Obviously the system has a lot of kinks to be worked out. Read Less

We just finished sailing on the Caribbean Princess and were pleasantly surprised! We have cruised on Disney and RCC previously and we decided to give Princess a try. This was a family vacation with my side and there was 11 of us traveling all together. My parents are platinum members with Princess and with the dates we had and the price point of summer cruising we chose Princess. Unfortunately, DCL has just priced themselves out for us for summer cruising. Caribbean Princess is an older boat, so keep that in mind. There were only 2 usable outlets in our room (B233 & B237) and they were next to each other, so technically I could only use one at a time. There was no outlet for my flat iron in the bathroom and the hair dryer was in the bedroom. It was an odd layout. I wish there was a usb or outlet next to the bed. The A/C was not as cold as we would like. Now we like to be cold and I would wake up in the middle of the night sweating! We read that if we took the diffuser (the cover) to the air return it would help, and it did. We also had the Ocean Medallion on this cruise (it reminds me of the Disney magic bands). They gave us a lanyard on checking in, but we purchased the wristbands the first day. Highly recommend for kids, but I purchased them as well. It made it so much easier to keep track and the lanyard can get sweaty and hard to keep up with on sea days. It was a bit confusing and hard to get connected to the Ocean Compass app (the app where you could locate others in your party and do onboard texting - no charge). It took us having to go to the internet cafe to get help from the IT personnel. Now my DH, Brother and dad are all in the IT, computer industry and we consider ourselves tech savvy. Apparently, the software/app that Princess uses is not apple friendly and they make it very difficult to use and setup. Princess knows this is a problem and I was told they are working to fix it. There were times I could not find my DH or my SIL while on board. It was nice to be able to text each other without having to pay for the internet/wifi. The one complaint I had was when we had to take a tender to and from Belize City. We boarded a large catamaran to get back on the cruise boat and from the time we hooked up to the cruise boat and the time I got off, it took an hour! That was ridiculous. They only had one line for security and I couldn't believe how slow it was going. It was a bit frustrating, and I felt bad for all the people who had the first seating for dining. And it was a formal night! We had a great cruise! Our stops were Cozumel, Roatan, Belize City and Grand Cayman. We really enjoyed the stops and excursions we took (we did not do Princess excursions). We picked this cruise soley on its dates. Disney will also be my number once choice for cruising, but they are getting to be so expensive that if I want to cruise I just need to look elsewhere. Its hard to compare a Disney cruise with any other cruise line, because they know how to do the shows and kids club like no other! Princess had a great service and overall provided a great experience. 2017 we cruised on Oasis of the Seas with RCL and it was just too many people and too big for me. My kids preferred their "extra stuff" on RCL more, but they will enjoyed their time on Princess. I also appreciated that they didn't try to upsell me on anything during my cruise. On RCL, there was always someone walking around the buffet and ship trying to sell me something or anything, and I did not appreciate that. This cruise did none of that. In fact, I had to ask someone how much the photo package was. No one was walking around trying to constantly sell me something and I really appreciated it. Overall, I would sail Princess again and try out one of its other ships. Read Less

The ship had just come out of a yard period in which changes were made to deck 16 & 17 to attract more family cruises. They also did some routine maintenance around the entire ship. Since we have cruised the Eastern Caribbean many times we only we only got off in St Thomas. The ship was in great condition and clean in everything we used. Below was my assessment of this cruise. 1) Service could have been better in the bars and Lido deck. 2) Food was very good. 3) Production shows were top notch. 4) Lounge entertainment was lacking especially having no piano player in Crooners. Heard from a Ship Officer that there were 1500 first time Princess cruisers on this cruise. I guess summer Caribbean cruises will be popular. My cabin D725, a mini-suite, was in the rear of the ship and we could feel pronounced vibrations coming the engines. Think I will stick with cabins more in midship area. If you sail on the Caribbean Princess and enjoy a quiet area to read try the Skywalker Lounge on Deck 19. Read Less

Princess is a class act. It was my first Princess Cruise. I’ll start with the bad. I found roaches in my cabin. Reported it when I found them at midnight. I was able to kill one so I had it as proof. They moved us to another cabin. This cabin was very dirty, had tv not working and ac not working. Technician came, tv was fixed, ac was fixed at 2:00am. 5:00 am it was blowing heat at us full force. Called the front again. Was told basically sorry, there’s nothing we can do. This was not ok. We disembarked into Cozumel. Had a great day even with only getting about 2.5 hours of sleep. When we got back, the Passenger Services Director summoned me and said they knew they’d have other cabins available that day and gave us one. I wish I had known that in the morning. I wouldn’t have been angry. She said the staff I spoke with were unaware. They should have been aware. All of this said, Princess made this right by us. They resolved it the same day. I wish the information would have been communicated right away but I’m not going to complain about that too much. The crew on board is very good. I loved the relaxed atmosphere and no hard selling of anything on the ship. Different than others I’ve been on. It just felt like a different class. The food was very good. Can’t complain about that at all. Spa services were wonderful and we really enjoyed movies under the stars. The biggest difference I saw was the very few extremely drunk passengers compared to other lines I’ve cruised with. Overall, I loved this cruise and would cruise with Princess again. Read Less

To get away with my mom and sister. The cruise was nice but things on the ship or dirty. All of the people that worked on the ship were so nice very helpful and just great overall. The ships furniture was dated and old our cabin was grimy with the couch that was worn, had holes in it and just needed to be changed and updated. Stateroom attendant worked hard and was great. The entertainment was great and the destinations were wonderful. We loved our balcony and seeing the sun rises in the morning. The excursions were nice and the locals on the islands we visited really try hard to please the tourists. We didn’t want any excursions that were too physical because our elderly mother was with usWe were very pleased with that. Overall it was a nice cruise. I would like to see the rooms updated for the money you pay for that cruise. Read Less

To get out of cold weather and enjoy the sun and warmth of the Caribbean. This cruise was on a ship with the implementation of the latest Princess marketing project. The Mediallion. The implementation was very weak, and the only real benefit was the excellent internet service. Although to receive the full benefit you must purchase the service with unlimited time. Then it will be like using your wireless network at home. The time required to embark and disembark the ship using the Mediallion did not save us any time. Actually it took us more time to complete the process. The cruise card was quicker. If fact you have to carry both the Mediallion and the cruise card, as food and drink purchases only use the cruise card. Go figure. Additionally, we were supposed to be able to approach our stateroom door and the door would open. This never did work without touching the panel on the wall and waiting. Princess removed the small slot on the wall for paper notices to be placed. Now they are slid under your door on the floor. So watch out when you open the door and not slip and fall on the papers on the floor. We also tried to use the OceanNow app to order food or drinks. It never did work. You cannot purchase but very few of the Mediallion accessories. This is truly mind blowing, as Princess has been marketing this service for at least three years. And they cannot even get the accessories in stock. Someone is not keeping their eye on the ball when it comes to the Mediallion services and products. Don’t expect to see what you have read in the marketing materials. Some of the items on the dining menu have had their recipes changed, as Princess has hired a new chief to revise the menus. We liked the old recipes better than these new recipes. It reminds me of the New Coke vs. the Classic Coke. Why mess with something that isn’t broke. Leave it alone, or if you want to make changes, add some additional items to the menu. This would make it better. Other than these short comings, this was a very enjoyable cruise. Read Less

Great get away from snow and winter weather. I enjoyed the lovely 80 degree weather. My husband and I took excursions at each port. It was nice to have people give us tours and take us to points of interest. On board the Caribbean Princess we took in the shows each night. What a wonderful job the cast put on. Each night a different type of show. Our vacation also gave us time at night to sit down in the Island Dining Room. The food was wonderful, and full of varieties. Everything from seafood to steak. My husband enjoyed the lobster and I enjoyed the New York Strip steak. And you couldn't forget the desserts. Made from scratch apple pie and baked Alaska. The service we received was awesome. From the port, to dining to our cabin. The cabin is cleaned twice per day, which is so nice. Our stateroom steward did a fabulous job. Our room was clean and spotless. We enjoyed spending our vacation on Caribbean Princess. Read Less

The itinerary was what attracted us to this cruise. We were able to visit the ports of St. Kitts, Martinique, Barbados, Trinidad, Curacao and Aruba along with repeats in St. Thomas and Antigua. Great ports to visit. Our balcony on the Caribbean Princess was the smallest we have ever experienced. Before choosing a forward cabin consider they are smaller than those a mid ship. The excursions for the most part were good. But if you ever go to St. Kitts for the Cruise the Sea and Rail ride you have to wear boat shoes. They do not allow regular shoes on the boat and when you get off the boat you get into rough stone filled docking when you are in your bare feet. On Trindad we climbed to the falls and as advertised you must be in EXCELLENT SHAPE as it was a rigorous climb to the falls for this 72 year old. While the dining staff were extremely friendly the food in the dining room was just okay. The dinner choices were limited and some items now have an extra cost in the regular dining room. The dinner in Sabatini was excellent Italian fare, good portion size with a reasonable charge per person. The best meal we had was in the Barbecue extension of the casual dining on Deck 15, very good food at a reasonable. As for evening entertainment we did not attend as most of these shows on cruise ships are just okay. In casual conversation I never had anyone say oh you missed a great show or entertainer tonight. We have been Princess passengers for years and will continue to be. The best service on board any cruise...perfect. I agree with many others though, about the quality of food. It's short of what it used to be... I think there are fewer and fewer Traditional diners that they have put all their energies into the Lido self serve and new kitchen food. They have also changed the early seating for Traditional to 5...much to early for platinum and elite travelers to go to cocktail party for them nightly..Anytime dining is used by many who don't want to be smart casual or formal diners..a real shame as I love the evening meals with a regular wait staff. All in all it was a beautiful holiday cruise..Santa arriving on top of a tender with a big bag of gift for the children was the highlight, along with the group Symphone. Really talanted performers. We wanted to do at least 14 days without returning to ft Lauderdale. So we choose the 14 day circle the Caribbean. The Caribbean princess now has the medallion in full use and has a negative effect on the coffee package if you don't use all 15 speciality coffees on this cruise you loose them can't carry over to next cruise. Also on this cruise food was very good in regular dinning rooms an service was very good. However the food in the specialty dinning like crown grill has gone down hill the last few Cruise's not only have the raised the price and amount but the stakes don't seem as good had to sent more than one back, the spiney crab cakes lacked the crab and paying 10 dollars extra for a small lobester tail or 39 dollars per person isn't worth it, normally we would have eaten there 3 or 4 times but was so disappointed we only made 1 visit this cruise. Our balcony cabin was nice but shows it's wear, the refrigerator shelving was missing and the door bracket was also missing, carpet had Abad stain and had to ask to get floor sweep. Also had very few hangers in room (18) not enough for two people and 14 day the outhr 3 couples with had the same probles and had to get hangers fro the laundry Dept. Many things seemed disorganized even the crew members said that the supperviseers lacked common sense and wanted them do thin backwards they also payed Little attention to what we as passengers wrote on how are we doing cards. As an elite passenger many of things we're in titled to is no longer just provided, but now are by request only and don't expect them right away have to get approved by manager. Read Less

Took this cruise for the ship (we sailed 3 years ago before the refit) and for the ports to be visited. The ship is in nice shape although it seems to be missing some signage. In the forward stair well in particular, it is difficult to tell what deck you are on and which way is forward or aft without going into the hallways to the cabins. The buffet area has been redesigned and works so much better then the old design. Flows better, reduces/eliminates lines, fresher appearance. The cabin (inside on deck 9) was well maintained, very clean and in a good location for a good night's sleep. We were 3 people in a cabin that can hold 4, closet and storage was very adequate. Bedding was good, except the heavy/hot duvet which we had removed for a traditional blanket (don't know why they bother!) We dined in the Palm Dining room (traditional dining) as well as the buffet for all meals. Very pleased with the variety, quality and freshness of the food. Service in both areas was excellent (this ship has a great crew that is very customer focused with a great attitude). Entertainment on this cruise was probably the best I've seen on a cruise ship in the last 10-15 years. Production shows were great as was the comic and the magician. We were scheduled to visit Princess Cay for the first port, but the weather would not be acceptable for tender transfer, so the port was skipped and we docked in St. Thomas 5 hours early, staying from 7am to 10pm. Went to Megan's Bay to swim and snorkel (took local transfer for $8 each, each way). Good facilities at the beach, restrooms, showers, food and beverage and the beach and water are beautiful. Next stop was St. Maarten, just a little shopping and light sight-seeing. Again, great beaches. Port is functional but still recovering from last years hurricanes, so not everything is open yet. This cruise had a total of 3 sea days, 1 going down, two coming back. All in all, a great cruise, meeting our expectations in every regard. Embarkation from Ft. Lauderdale took about 15 minutes, debarkation went very well also, very well organized. As with any cruise there are some people that don't know or don't care about rules, directions and common courtesy that make some experiences annoying, to say the least. We would certainly sail on this ship again (great crew) when the opportunity comes about. Read Less

Well on the cruise, we had a great time! At the restraunts the waiters were amazing and one even gave my little cousin a oragami bird. The buffet was also a perfect option for when you want to eat a quick meal or have a variety of foods. Also the pools were kind of small and crowded but they were nice and clean. If you have young kids though it might be hard for them to swim since almost all the pools are at least 5ft deep, but they can always go in the toddler pool. The kids centers were also really fun and my little cousins kept begging to go. They had many fun activities like board games, Xbox, PlayStation, wii, braclett making, coloring, plus much more. The ship was overall really fun but we had some problems. First of all, one night we went to our room around 10 o’clock ready to go to bed and the door wouldn’t unlock since the battery died. We went to the front desk and told them what happened. We then went back to our room and waited outside for 40 minutes until someone came to fix it. They later gave us a bottle of wine for the inconvenience. I would have been fine with just this happening but then a couple days later me and my 7 year old cousin went back to his room while everyone was still at dinner. A group of workers then came to our room and asked us to see our room cards. After we showed them our cards they kept on asking us if we had anymore cards and where his parents were. This really scared my cousin and he wouldn’t even leave the room because he was so scared that they would still be there. We think that they came because they scanned my 5 year old cousins card twice and thought we brought someone onboard. However, they didn’t have to scare us. Also, when my uncle reported this issue they pretty much told him it was a safety issue so it didn’t matter that it didn’t matter how their employees acted. This makes sense, but they could have been more considerate. To top it all off, in my brother, aunt, and grandparents room on the last full day the floor was soaking wet and it smelled so much like seawater and mold that we couldn’t even go into the room. We reported it and they said that it was fine, their was just a leak in the room. Apperantly they didn’t think this was a big deal? They then put a fan in the room, which fid nothing. When we went into the room later and looked behind the bed the wall paper and floor was all messed up under it. It obviously looked like the issue was a recurring problem. We then went to the front desk around 11:00 am and said they knew nothing about it. They then said the would look into it. When we came back from lunch the room was filled with workers. We then had to go back to the front desk because with all of those people in there and the bad smell no one could take showers, my grandparents couldn’t rest, and everyone still had to pack since your bags were suppose to be outside your room by dinner. At the front desk they said that they had an extra room that they could stay in. Finally around 4:00 they got into their room. However, the room only had one bed and there was 4 people. It took about another hour for them to find another open room. We pretty much wasted our whole day going to the front desk and asking when the room would be done. Overall, though we had many issues, it was still a great cruise and we had so much fun. If these things didn’t happen I would definitely go back! Read Less

My wife and I went on our first cruise together on recommendation from family friends who also joined us. From embarking to disembarking the process was extremely smooth. From arriving at port it took less than 20 minutes to get on board. Headed straight up to buffet for lunch. We found the service during the whole to be excellent from the restaurant table service to our cabin staff. Always friendly and great sense of humor. Never been to a place where we have our room cleaned so often each day. Loved it!.The general variety and quality of food was great. Entertainment was pretty good. We had 2 comedians which were good, and a couple of musical shows in the theater that were very good. Would have liked to have seen a magic act. We went on 3 excursions of the 4 ports we stopped in. Highlte was the dolphin encounter in Cozumel. Great experience except for the cost of photo/picture. Overall we had a fantastic time and loved every minute of it. We chose a balcony on caribe deck and was very nice and quiet. We knew bathroom and shower were small when we booked. It is small but definitely not a deal breaker and not a big issue for us.Already looking forward to booking another princess cruise. Read Less
