Norwegian Fjords and Transatlantic Voyage

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Caribbean Princess

We flew non stop to HLR and staed in London for four days. We have been to London often, so we choose to get caught up on the theater, plus go to several museums . Transfer to Southampton was by coach. Our arrival to the dock was delayed, by the traffic, five ships in port, bank holiday, and a large boat show. It along with the road work on the motorway delayed our arrival, by over 90 minutes. ...

A Beautiful Trip to the Fjords

We really enjoyed the magnificent Fjords because of the beauty of the destinations. Our pleasant task was to find a cruise that fit into our schedule around a wedding and visit to the U.K. This 7 day on the Caribbean Princess fit perfectly. Our embarkation went easily and once on board, we found the layout of the ship (although a little smaller) similar to the Crown, Ruby and Emerald ...

I would like to give a brief review, concentrating on some points that come to mind, rather than a full blow by blow account, and also giving reasons for my views. I'm amazed how many reviewers say things like shows were poor, without giving any reason. Firstly, I have seen many comments on the Caribbean Princess saying that it is in urgent need of a refit etc. This was our third Princess ...

We have just returned from a cruise to the Norwegian Fjords on the Caribbean Princess for one week on 11th July. Norway was very beautiful, lovely scenery and lots of history and we stopped in 3 different places. The ship however was awful. The first 3 days on it there was a terrible smell like bad drains all through the ship. The food was not good at all, there was never nowhere to sit and we ...

This was my third cruise with princess the second on the Caribbean and am very surprised by comments of it being tired. It looked the same as it did on my first cruise in 2010!! I love everything about princess. The staff, crooners bar, formal nights, movies under the stars, the theatre, balcony room and the food, outstanding especially the crown grill (which you pay a 25 dollar supplement but ...

Just returned from Norway on the Caribbean Princess 15 night North Cape cruise. First the Pros : - In my opinion the Caribbean Princess is a lovely ship, although a few "regulars" said she was looking a bit tired. The Cabin (Outside) was spacious with comfortable bed, TV, fridge, hair dryer, shower, a safe and plenty of wardrobe space The food was excellent with plenty of choice, The entertainment ...

Not for Families!

I enjoy cruising as a multi-generational vacation where the kids have activities so the adults can relax. Princess has made this impossible. For the program for age 3-7, they have a 10:1 child to caregiver ratio, which for this cruise meant that at most points only one caregiver was present! Furthermore, the lack of staff meant that the caregivers provided no help with potty breaks, which is not ...

On the last day of the cruise we received the Ports of Call newsletter which thanked us for sailing on the "Emerald Princess" which was very nice BUT we were sailing on the Carribbean Princess and it was this lack of attention to detail that made sailing a the ship rather tedious. That being said embarkation and disembarkation were very smooth (although Southhampton is not the greatest terminal ...

I like to leave honest feedback from my travels and leave plenty of advice on Trip adviser. I am mid 40S and recently traveled with my Husband on the Caribbean Princess, our third cruise with Princess and 7th altogether. The fjords are beautiful and for June, they still had snow on the caps, which made it a very fresh, but stunning places to visit. We stopped at over 10 destinations, many ...

Some improvement, but attention is still needed in certain areas.

My last review, of the Sapphire Princess in March, gave it a distinctly poor 2 out of 5. This trip, on her sister ship the Caribbean Princess, was better but still far from perfect. Let's start with the positives. Embarkation at Southampton was (as always) a real pleasure. Everyone there is so polite and helpful. Why can't it be like this everywhere? Thanks to all concerned. My Wife, ...
