Review for a Africa Cruise on Silver Spirit

First Time Cruiser • Age 70s

We have toured South Africa before ...Cape Town and Garden route route by road. We wanted to try a cruise for the first time as it included two stops in Namibia with Silver Spirit. At least is what was planned. After our booking Luderitz was cancelled in Namibia and came off the schedule due to so called operational challenges! And hooray was the message therefore an extra day in Cape Town! Having ...

Not expected of a 5* cruise line

Expectations were high as we flew to South Africa on time {the worry of travelling BA behind us} to find a totally disjointed hotel selected by Silverseas. Well, it’s only one night, it can only get better from here... or so we thought thinking positively. Next day came and we took a private transfer to the ship. We arrived at the terminal to find around 50 people queuing in front and an hour ...

Our flights, pre/post cruise hotels and transfers were all arranged by Regent. On arrival we were informed that we would be notified about embarkation details - but we weren't. On the morning of embarkation, several hundred guests along with several hundred suitcases were all seen milling around awaiting 5 coaches to take us to Seven Seas Voyager. Two of our party of 4 had mobility problems and ...

Really disappointing introduction to Azamara

Review for a Africa Cruise on Azamara Journey

We had heard so much about how impressive Azamara was and, after several cancelled cruises due to Covid and the war in Ukraine, we were really looking forward to the "South Africa Intensive" cruise. First, the positive: the service cannot be faulted. It really is impeccable. That being said, the rest was less impressive. A few days before sailing, we were advised that we had been upgraded -- ...

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Seven Seas Voyager

The activities and events wholly and exclusively on board ship were excellent. The staff / crew were very good, the exceptions being new staff who were still learning their roles but these were few and far between. I enjoyed the food and drink available as part of the all inclusive cost of the cruise and didn't feel the need to spend anything additional. Unfortunately, everything that was not ...

This was our first Regent cruise, and we selected it based on the itinerary, which covered Southern Africa, a transatlantic leg, and Rio to Buenos Aires. Regent was a favorite cruise line of acquaintances of ours, so we had high expectations. Pre-cruise, I read the reviews from passengers and started to have some concerns. But since the itinerary was so compelling, I set aside the various ...

This was our first cruise post Covid and we were delighted to be back on the waters again We had previously enjoyed a great cruise on Azamara some years back, so we had high expectations for this sailing. As it turned out, our hopes for the cruise were perhaps a bit unrealistic and overall, we were somewhat disappointed in the Azamara product. First the positives • The service: We ...

Crew as always is very friendly and available but found our room stewards did not clean up to AZ standards. Our butler was excellent and followed up on the poor cleaning crew as did Philip the hotel director. The room also is looking worn as some wallpaper is peeling. The food is standard AZ as not bad at all but not gourmet. Service all over ship and friendliness is what sets them ...
