Myself & 12 other female friends booked this cruise a year in advance because of the amazing destination. First disappointment the Mozembique port got cancelled months prior to the cruise sailing. But this happens on cruises & it was still a good itinerary. Departure time arrived with much anticipation on our part. After unbelievably long flights (which we were aware of) just not ...

Very disappointing tired cabin - appalling stop at Richards Bay

Review for a Africa Cruise on Seven Seas Voyager

Our flights, pre/post cruise hotels and transfers were all arranged by Regent. On arrival we were informed that we would be notified about embarkation details - but we weren't. On the morning of embarkation, several hundred guests along with several hundred suitcases were all seen milling around awaiting 5 coaches to take us to Seven Seas Voyager. Two of our party of 4 had mobility problems and ...

Somebody dropped the ball

Review for a Africa Cruise on Norwegian Jade

We selected this sailing for TWO reasons - It was NCL (we previously went on the Prima and Encore), and the itinerary included the Seychelles, Cape Town, and Dubai. The 18 days were not a problem; we've been on longer. What was not thought about: THEATER ENTERTAINMENT - I was surprised that on an 18-day cruise, one gets the same amount of "Broadway Style Productions" as on a 7-day cruise, ...

Ncl has the goal to provide cruises for the premium segment. But today they are far away. On our cruise from cape town to Athens we had following issues. The embarkation in Cape town took 2,5 hours’ time standing in a line at the cruise terminal, no organisation and information from NCL, In Richards bay we had to go on the passport control for South Africa. The most passenger came with delay from ...

SUMMARY The Norwegian Jade is a nice sized ship with a good layout and a spacious theatre. The main dining rooms were well organized and quite spacious. The various specialty dining venues were even better and we enjoyed several good meals in Le Bistro, Cagney's, La Cucina and Moderna. The Teppanyaki was entertaining and we enjoyed the food there but the Jasmine (free anytime) was very ...

Really disappointing introduction to Azamara

Review for a Africa Cruise on Azamara Journey

We had heard so much about how impressive Azamara was and, after several cancelled cruises due to Covid and the war in Ukraine, we were really looking forward to the "South Africa Intensive" cruise. First, the positive: the service cannot be faulted. It really is impeccable. That being said, the rest was less impressive. A few days before sailing, we were advised that we had been upgraded -- ...

Very inconsistent across the board

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Seven Seas Voyager

This was our first Regent cruise, and we selected it based on the itinerary, which covered Southern Africa, a transatlantic leg, and Rio to Buenos Aires. Regent was a favorite cruise line of acquaintances of ours, so we had high expectations. Pre-cruise, I read the reviews from passengers and started to have some concerns. But since the itinerary was so compelling, I set aside the various ...

The activities and events wholly and exclusively on board ship were excellent. The staff / crew were very good, the exceptions being new staff who were still learning their roles but these were few and far between. I enjoyed the food and drink available as part of the all inclusive cost of the cruise and didn't feel the need to spend anything additional. Unfortunately, everything that was not ...

This was our first cruise post Covid and we were delighted to be back on the waters again We had previously enjoyed a great cruise on Azamara some years back, so we had high expectations for this sailing. As it turned out, our hopes for the cruise were perhaps a bit unrealistic and overall, we were somewhat disappointed in the Azamara product. First the positives • The service: We ...
