The activities and events wholly and exclusively on board ship were excellent. The staff / crew were very good, the exceptions being new staff who were still learning their roles but these were few and far between. I enjoyed the food and drink available as part of the all inclusive cost of the cruise and didn't feel the need to spend anything additional.

We choose this cruise to see South Africa. We have sailed many times before with RCCL and Celebrity.
We knew within minutes this would be our first and last Azamara cruise. This did not change as the cruise progressed.

Crew as always is very friendly and available but found our room stewards did not clean up to AZ standards.
Our butler was excellent and followed up on the poor cleaning crew as did Philip the hotel director.
The room also is looking worn as some wallpaper is peeling.
The food is standard AZ as not bad at all but not gourmet.

Even though US citizens made up only approx 30% of the total passengers, the cruise was primarily aimed at Americans. If you attended a quiz, the questions were invariably geared to American culture, a fact acknowledged by the quiz-masters.
