Had booked a land trip with Safari, Capetown and Victoria Falls during the pandemic but that got cancelled. Was so amazed by the entire cruise experience. This was a surprising adventure with a mixture of cosmopolitan scapes in Capetown, Durban and Walvis Bay ports. At times felt like I was visiting the various islands in Hawaii with the various weather influences: Rainfall, Drought and just a ...

We chose this cruise because we wanted to go on safari, enjoy a luxury cruise and visit somewhere we had not been before. We started our holiday with three days of pre-cruise tours which were below average standard. During this time we stayed at the Southern Sun Cullinan Hotel in Cape Town. We arrived late afternoon and initially the room looked very nice but on closer inspection we found the ...

Review for a Africa Cruise on Azamara Journey

First Time Cruiser • Age 50s

This cruise was chosen as it was sailing between our decade birthdays, most importantly catered for a vegan diet and as it was luxury, we opted for the suite, we thought we would be in for a memorable holiday. Well little did we know we were but for the wrong reasons. Very Disappointing, Under-delivered on expectations, Worst and most expensive holiday experienced. Embarkation Night ...

Food was good (sometimes great) though the Compass Rose is a bit large so we often ate in the smaller restaurants including the Italian (Seti Mare). You can often do walk-ins at the 'posh' restaurants. If late back from a trip they kept the lunch open after 2pm. We had 4 days of bad weather, a bit of a downer, which also meant missing a port and having 4 days at sea with little extra ...

NCL knew before the Dubai leg of this trip to Cape Town took place , that the Corona Virus would prevent us reaching any ports other than the UAE. and one of them was awful. The Captain did not communicate any useful information to us and on several occasions told lies about what was to take place at each port of call. This is by far the worse cruise we have ever taken on NCL (This was our ...

I just want to make a couple of points in comparison of these two lines as many on board have sailed on both lines. As a matter of fact just over one month prior I did a 31 day "Around Australia Circumnavigation with New Guinea, Bali, Komodo Island on the Oceania R-Class 1. I am not loyal cruise ship passenger. My priorities are first the itinerary, then the quality of the ship/ line ...

This 26 night cruise started in Cape Town and was to end in Dubai. Sadly Corona Virus decided to intervene which resulted in the cruise missing many ports of call and a premature ending in Muscat which was not a planned port of call. Many countries refused us entry due to the fear of cruise ships being floating Petri dishes. There was a daily update from the Captain regarding our situation and ...

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Seabourn Sojourn

We have just finished our "Capetown to Singapore" part of the Sojourn World Cruise. BACKGROUND My wife and I used to be died-in-the-wool Seabourn fans and have Diamond (250+ days) status. We loved the experience. That all fell apart on a cruise in 2016 when they were introducing Thomas Keller (but before they had the separate TK Grill). The quality and variety of food dropped so bad that we ...

We choose this cruise to see South Africa. We have sailed many times before with RCCL and Celebrity. We knew within minutes this would be our first and last Azamara cruise. This did not change as the cruise progressed. Excursions were expensive and well organised. Staff on this ship were spectacular. Being sold Azamara with drinks included was an absolute joke. The included drink menu ...
