Recently, my wife and I took the October 28 sailing to Canada and New England on EMERALD PRINCESS. Overall, it was a very nice, relaxing trip. Here’s the skinny:
Embarkation in Brooklyn.
We entered the Brooklyn cruise terminal at 12:28 in the afternoon, and because we had the “Green Lane” we stepped on board the ship 12 minutes later at 12:40. Without doubt, this was the easiest and quickest ...
I chose this sailing because it was a new cruise line and I didn't pay full price for the sailing.
I had researched this ship and Princess throughly before booking and sailing. I knew what I was getting into because the ship is pretty old. The colors and furnishings are dated. With that said, everything was clean and the outside of the ship looked nice.
Princess is in the same class as ...
This was my first cruise on princess.
Took a mini suite which was nice but the boat gave me a room all the way in the front of the boat and on tender days it felt and sounded like the anchor was in my room.
I personally didn't like the daytime activities on the boat. Didn't seem like there was much to do.
Purchased the premier plus package which was good and worth the money if you like ...
Way over priced for quality of cruise experience. The main cruise director was at best annoying, at worst rude, impatient, unsympathetic. We were specifically told lunch would be offered to accommodate a late excursion only to find the DR closed. Fortunately, we were in port and could walk into a local restaurant that day. Daily excursions are listed as being included in the cruise fare but ...
On this cruise, I learned that you get what you pay for! For the price that I paid as a solo traveller, the cruise was just barely OK, so in a way, I have to admit that it's nice that there are choices for bargain hunters, but personally, I will use more caution when booking a cruise in the future, as this cruise, food, ship and choice of activities did not meet my expectations. I am a rather ...
First time Celebrity cruisers (we have traveled 5 times on Disney and 1 on Viking Ocean). This has always been an itinerary we have been interested in and it did not disappoint. It's very much and adult and upscale feel in the rooms and public areas - understated and nice. We have always thought that this would be an adult offering with great food that would really mesh with our tastes ...
I liked the idea of going on a Cunard ship and I wanted to stay in the US instead of flights over and back to Europe. One of my travel companions had been on a Cunard and raved about it. I wanted the luxury, exceptional good service, a real ship and the timing and price were acceptable.
From the moment I got to my cabin, I was disappointed in the the rust along the edge inside the porthole/ ...
We loved the crew. Everyone was very helpful and very pleasant. The ship was average but it does need some work. Very limited outlets in the rooms. Our bathroom stunk from floor drains that are never cleaned. These should be cleaned and sanitized regularly. We had to keep the bathroom door closed so we could sleep at night and it wasn’t odor from human waste. The sill on our sliding door to the ...
I was very interested in the itinerary, the price was reasonable and we liked Celebrity in the past.
The good things.....the crew was wonderful, our stateroom was nice, except the shower didn't drain properly (as someone else mentioned), the evening shows were good but too short, the lectures by the naturalist were excellent and the buffet was good.
The main dining room experience was a ...
i chose this cruise hoping to see some fall foliage and the ports were either new for me or interesting stops in New England. We were a group of four and took the airfare offer thru Norwegian. I didn't realize that Norwegian would not notify us of our scheduled flight until about 30 days before the sale date. That was stressful as we didn't know what we could schedule on our day in Quebec City, ...
