I enjoyed the Great Lakes for the weather, temperature and wonderful people in each port. Our Cruise Director Krista was so inspiring, she gave us a run down of what to expect on board and at the different port excursions of our voyage. All the events were well organized for the guest to enjoy entertainment in two lounges with Music and watercolor painting each day with new subject to learn about. ...
We chose to cruise the Great Lakes with Viking because we were looking for an interesting way to get to Wisconsin....but it ended up being such an incredible experience. The staff treated us like family, the food was amazing and the whole trip was a perfect balance of relaxation and fun. The expedition component was really fascinating, adding a whole extra dimension to the cruise. The ship was ...

We selected the Viking Great Lakes cruise for the opportunity to stay close to home (US & Canada) and experience a different type of Viking Ship. We loved every minute of it!. Boarded after two wonderful days on our own in Toronto - had a little trouble finding the ship in a working port but we made it. Niagara Falls was crowded with tourists but had a fun time riding the Maid of the Mist. ...
The Viking Octantis is a beautiful ship and the crew was absolutely spectacular. There was enough to do, fantastic rooms, and the food was quite good and varied. The crew/staff is really what made this cruise memorable - from housekeeping to serving staff to bartenders - everyone was so kind and eager to please.
However, we were disappointed in a few very important things:
1. The submarines ...
We wanted to experience more of Vikings excellent service, cleanliness, hospitality and excursions as well as water vessel expeditions of the Great Lakes.

We chose this cruise for its itinerary (all 5 Great Lakes) and a chance to try Viking for the first time. We had heard excellent things about the line from friends and our travel agent, so we selected this sailing. It proved to be a terrific choice. We have taken a number of cruises (both traditional and expedition), so we are experienced with evaluating a cruise line and an individual ship. ...
I wanted to cruise the great lakes from Toronto to Duluth. What caught my interest was an exhibition cruise; and it was. It was a learning experience from knowledgeable historians, geologists, marine scientists, and crew members on a cruise ship with a very high crew to passenger ratio. It had a self contained submersible (six person sub), kayaking, Zodiak, and special operation boat that ...

We visited mackinac ...
We chose this cruise because we missed a few vacations over the past few years due to COVID and the recent issues in Europe. We wanted a great vacation that didn't roam too far from home (Maryland, USA). Viking offered a Great Lakes cruise that looked to be both restful and enriching. As we get a little older, we're realizing we need to treat ourselves to special experiences while we still can ...
