The Nile in style
"It turned out to be a fantastic trip, with everything one could possibly want included: business class air fare, 5 star Cairo hotel, daily fully guided tours, meal time drinks and , of course, an excellent reputation. Some days we opted out of tours, as we wanted to go at our own pace, and we both have studied Egyptian culture and history to diploma level...."Read More

We’d been to Egypt several times over the years, and wanted to return. We spotted an advertisement for a Uniworld cruise on the Nile that seemed to include so much, plus a few days in Cairo. It turned out to be a fantastic trip, with everything one could possibly want included: business class air fare, 5 star Cairo hotel, daily fully guided tours, meal time drinks and , of course, an ...

Outstanding opportunity to visit many of the wonderful Temples in Egypt

We chose this cruise so we could visit many wonders of the world such as the Great Pyramids at Giza, The Valley of the Kings, and Temple Abu Simbel. The chance to see all of these ancient places and have a wonderful professional Egyptologist to point and explain many of the finer points provided us a vacation of a lifetime. Secondary to seeing the many wonderful sights was being transported ...

We love Uniworld and wanted to experience Egypt. We were so lucky to have Hazem as our guide. He knows everything and such a fun guy to tour with. Love his stories about history and local culture. We were so excited to visit the pyramids, to learn about the Pharaohs and visit all the temples. It was eye opening to travel down the streets and see the Egyptian culture. We learned about the ...

The Splendor of the Nile comes alive on the S.S. Sphinx

We have long wanted to see the Pyramids and Egyptian Temples, and the Uniworld itinerary was perfect. The Sphinx is a new ship, and the rooms and other spaces are very comfortable. We also found the staff to be exceptional. The excursions were excellent, and we generally didn’t do too much in a day. We learned how important a great guide can be. We were fortunate to have Hazem as our guide ...

An Awe-inspiring Experience

Review for a Africa Cruise on S.S. Sphinx

My wife has dreamed of a trip to Egypt since she was a little girl. My reluctance about travel in the region of the world where Egypt lies has kept me from being supportive of fulfilling that dream. We retired in May 2021 and spent some time traveling domestically, but nothing out of the country. Compound my hesitance and the impact COVID has had on our lives, it was time for international travel. ...

32nd Anniversary Nile Cruise Pros & Cons

We had been planning this Nile Cruise when the Sphinx had caught on fire & then Covid came round. We finally re-booked for our 32 anniversary in March 2022. Egypt had been on our bucket list and Uniworld was quoted as being the luxury of the Nile river boat ships. This was/is the way to go if you want to see EVERY pyramid. We had spent 5 days on our own in Cario and had private tours before ...

Trip of a Lifetime

My cousin and I did this cruise this past March and if you've ever wanted to see Egypt, a river cruise is the way to go. First the amazing part, the people. Our Egyptologist was Ayman and he brought Egypt to life. We would have had no idea what we were looking at without him. It was overwhelming at times because there was so much to see, but it was phenomenal. The next best was the crew ...

great staff awful ship

The staff was wonderful. Each person was very caring. The ship was the worst of Uniworld. There was no heat, and it was 40 degrees. There wasn't a comfortable chair. The lounge was cold and uninviting. They charged for drinks. The sheets were not good quality nor was the toilet paper. The elevator only held one person, and with a walker, it was a squeeze. That said, our guide, Hani was ...

We were referred by a friend who raved about this trip. The positives: excellent attentive staff and superb taste and variety of food. The tour guides provided by Uniworld are excellent and the choice of the Four Seasons for the first 2 and last 2 nights is great. When we did “cruise,”: going down the Nile is delightful. Some of the not so positives: this is not really a cruise. We used ...
