As with other people, we were quite nervous as there were a number of negative reviews of the Pacific Eden and we had to fly to Cairns from Brisbane to embark. However the cruise was more than adequate with only some minor irritations. Let's face it, life in general has minor irritations..

Instructed to show up at 11am, we expected a gentle progress suggested by the red “Priority” notice on our E-ticket. It seemed everybody had an 11am date and 1500 people were trying to progress through registration, border control and security. Someone took pity on us and we were probably the 300th couple to board.

I found P&O Pacific Eden to be below expected cruising standard. Penny pinching in many areas. Coffee, ice-cream, pizza all need to be bought to get good quality, very basic items on a cruise. Same items are available in your cruise price, but are of very poor quality. Food quite boring and poor quality, expect if you can get a booking into one of the commercial dinning areas.
