Really excellent ship with wonderful crew

Review for a South America Cruise on Azamara Quest

There were 591 on this cruise (ship accommodates about 675) with a crew of about 400. This is considered an upscale line and ship and it is. The ship and crew did a fine job. The food was excellent and much better than most of their competitors, but they could use some menu additions and modifications. We love azamara and love the quest and you will too. This ship was apparently overhauled about ...

Bus crash in Rio

We wanted to see parts of South America. We enjoyed the food and service. The excursions were pricey so we did most touring on our own in ports. In Ponte Del Este, we obtained a private driver and toured the whole area including a visit to casa Pueblo, which was amazing. We took the ship’s excursion to see Christ the Redeemer and the beaches. On the way back to the ship. The bus driver lost ...

Mixed experience

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on Norwegian Star

While we had a wonderful time and felt safe on board, there were a number of areas the cruise line missed the mark: 1. We paid for an upgraded dinner at Teppenyaki restaurant. Of the four people in our party, there was a problem with the meals. Raw chicken was served and two people were served things they repeatedly stated they were allergic to. We even booked it for the first sitting so the ...

Amazing Wildlife Sightings

We booked this cruise while we were on an Azamara Journey sailing in October. Antarctica had long been on our bucket list and the deal that was offered was too good to pass up. We had debated doing an expedition cruise, but had done one in the Arctic and ended up being totally disappointed. While we didn't step foot on Antarctica during the cruise, we were able to see an amazing array of ...

Better than expected

Review for a South America Cruise on Azamara Quest

My expectations for this cruise were very low based on the terrible Azamara website, incorrect embarkation directions and poor pre-trip customer service from the "home" office. I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent crew, captain and cabin. On this cruise we went from Buenos Aires to Rio for two nights of Carnaval. The Quest was the only cruise ship that docked in Rio for two nights of ...

Our Best Cruise Ever

Review for a South America Cruise on Sapphire Princess

We have been on 15+ cruises on Princess, Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Celebrity and this cruise was one of our favorites. Actually, I would say it was our favorite cruise ever. We sailed from Buenos Aires, Argentina to Santiago, Chile on a 2 weeks cruise on the Sapphire Princess. The ports of call were good but the highlights of the cruise were the penguins on the Falkland Islands and in the ...

A bad experience

We took a 16-day cruise from Buenos Aires with the Norwegian Sun in February 2024. We chose it based on the itinerary and the company's good references. The itinerary was good. The problem was the ship: When we arrived the cabin smelled of cigarettes and bathroom. At night we noticed that there was an unbearable noise coming from the air conditioning. On the second night when we entered ...

Not what I paid for.

Having cruised on Norwegian before the pandemic, I believe Norwegian is suffering from post pandemic syndrome and is using the pandemic to reduce services and quality. My specific problems were: 1. The itinerary followed was not what I paid for. The three days cruising Antarctica were reduced to one while the weather was glorious. 2. Sanitation standards were low. I contracted Covid ...

Lines, Fees and Itinerary Changes

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on Norwegian Star

This isn't your ordinary kick back by the pool in the sunshine and be pampered cruise itinerary. It goes to ANTARCTICA! For many on the ship who are frequent travelers, this was the final destination, the SEVENTH continent to visit. The destination is unique. The itinerary is grueling: it crosses The Drake Passage- where the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans converge. Some days, it's a "lake". ...

We were lucky with the weather but itinerary was changed

Review for a South America Cruise on Norwegian Star

The first time I booked this cruise 2 years ago it was canceled. This time the cruise went but the itinerary was suddenly changed. People from remote parts of the world had a long journey to Argentina mostly to see Antarctica, but instead of 2 full days in Antarctica, we had only 2 hours and saw 2 islands from a distance. It was a big disappointment for many of us. As we understood the only reason ...
