Buenos Aires to Valpraiso

Review for a South America Cruise on Celebrity Infinity

Very poor entertainment for so many days at sea. No movies, decent TV, slow internet, few lectures, bad acts, loud music. Food is just OK, cabin was great. Celebrity is over rated and over priced. Excursions offered are over crowded and expensive. We did well arranging private excursions with people we met at Cruise Critic. Dining room service and food were very good but buffet was poorly ...

This cruise was the worst I did with Celebrity. It was my third cruise with the company and the experience was negative in general. We are a couple +70 no children. The first day: I had concergie class and points as frequent guest. That belong a champagne bottle at the cabin and a long list of other amenities. Nothing of that was in the cabin, I had to complain at the service desk in order to ...

Great itinerary but Celebrity Infinity is not the ship to cruise it on!

We chose this for the itinerary. It was wonderful and we had arranged all private tours with the exception of the trip to see the Condors. The ship's first tour was late and since we were the last tour to the farm, we did not see the video or the naturalist's briefing though he did ride on the bus from the farm to the cliffs (5 minutes). The ship's port stops were latered nearly every port and ...

Wanted to experience Cape Horn, see the glaciers in Chile, visit the end of the world as well as the cosmopolitan cities of Buenos Aires, Valparaiso and Santiago. All the above met my expectations and more. The ship itself was very nice. The cruise director was very entertaining in both English and Spanish. He was also quite amusing in his effort to speak French. The onboard enrichment ...

Old ship, plain Jane ship and unorganized Celebrity company

First time on Celebrity. We were excited to cruise Celebrity, as friends had recommended the line. Unfortunately we had no idea that the ship for this cruise would be an old ship that was built as plain as it could be. No glory what so ever. What we didn’t like is: 1. Price paid for the cruise was very high for what we received. 2. Cabins were very small. 3. Options included as part ...

Great Itinerary

Great itinerary and ports of call. My only say it's about some of the shore excursions we booked, for the price we paid, some were not to my expectation. The cruise line was promt to correct these shortcomings with lavished dinners and offering a discount. All you had to do was to let them know of your dissatisfaction and they would listen and offer something to make you happy. Bar attendants ...

Interesting itinerary; shame about the Celebrity experience

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and to celebrate a birthday. The itinerary was very interesting but this was let down by the celebrity experience. Due to a gastrointestinal outbreak there was a heavy sanitisation programme which lasted for all 14 days and very much detracted from what should have been a great experience. Beside having our hands sanitised at every opportunity (this ...

My bucket list needs a new top item

It has always been a dream of mine to go to Tierra del Fuego. I finally did just that - sailing on the Infinity from Buenos Aires to Valparaiso. It was a spectacular itinerary, made even more so by incredible weather. We got a small taste of rough waters and wind when we formally "rounded the horn", but it was not what I would call severe. A huge value added perk on the cruise were ...

Great Trip

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our 14-day cruise from Buenos Aires to Valparaiso. Our Sky Suite entitled us to eat in Luminae which we did every morning and all but one evening. In my opinion, the restaurant is almost enough reason to pay for an upgrade to a suite! The food as well as the service wass excellent and the dinner menu changes daily--unlike the specialty restaurants.. The only ...

Mixed Experience

Let me start by saying that overall we had a very enjoyable vacation ( hence the 4 rating). There were several things that kept this from being a 5 star experience. There had been a GI illness outbreak during the previous cruise and Celebrity took steps to try to ensure that it didn't occur again. The extra cleaning delayed boarding and it was quite chaotic. This was understandable. During the ...
