A bucket list trip that may be the only time we do this ... wanted to ‘see it all’! We joined the ship in Amsterdam. We were met at the airport by Viking reps and quickly taken to the Viking Baldur at the port. We chose this cruise because it travelled to countries we thought we'd enjoy viewing along the Danube/ Main/ Rhine Rivers, and we were not disappointed to say the least. The people on this boat were so nice. Both staff and fellow travelers. We felt at home!
Budapest was our favorite place. We liked seeing the Hungarian Horsemen. And we enjoyed the optional tour A Taste of Budapest. The Parliament building is truly lovely. And we had some real goulash soup in a local restaurant.

Everything about the Grand European was superior, most especially the level of service provided by the crew. We had wonderful meals, fascinating ports of call and made wonderful friendships. The cruise was as good as their ads show. Wow!! We had a great time. Ship was beautiful. Food was great. Service was impeccable. Alexandru & Noel, in the dining room were too much fun. Excellent beer selection. Tours were well organized. Cabin (French balcony) was small but very efficient.

It was our first cruise and it was wonderful. The ship amenities, the crew and the hospitality people couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. They even helped me find flowers ashore for my wife for Mothers' Day.
