We had a wonderful river cruise with Viking!

We chose this Viking cruise because we heard from many friends that Viking was the best! Guess what? They were right! We wanted the Grand European trip from Budapest to Amsterdam covering many countries with three extra days in Prague before the cruise. The timing was right so we booked it and we are not sorry at all. We went the first two weeks of August and the weather was beautiful most of ...

I was hesitant to take a river cruise but couldn't pass up the special price offer on this one from Budapest to Amsterdam. To my surprise, it would rate as one of the best cruising experiences I have had. The service was far above any I have experienced on a big ship, the food was great and the entire experience was above expectations. The main difference from big ship cruises was that there is ...

Viking is the master of river cruises. Everything is first class - the ship, the staff, the food, the programming. It started from the time we arrived by taxi to our ship. Crew members greeted us and took all of our luggage to our stateroom. We were there in time for a buffet lunch and sat out on the Aquavit Terrace to enjoy it. A free walking tour occupied our afternoon as more guest ...

This was by far the best cruise we have ever done and we've sailed a lot.

my parents took a Rhine cruise years ago and raved about it forever. We saw the tv commercials for Viking regularly and I would always comment that a viking river cruise was my dream trip. For our anniversary in September, my husband gave me a package from our travel agent about the Grand European Tour he had booked for us and we would be spending my birthday in Budapest as our first full day on ...

Viking Grand European was grand indeed!

My husband and I had been on two sea cruises, and decided to embark on a river cruise. We receive Viking River Cruise brochures often, and see its ads on TV. The "Grand European" was offered at a great price 10 weeks prior to sailing. We added three days in Prague prior to the cruise, through Viking; and two days in Amsterdam afterward, which we booked ourselves. Viking reserved our flights ...

Wanted to try...but not what we expected!!

Wasn't as advertised....ports were not as expected. When given the introduction to the Viking river cruises online they made it seem that we would dock in the center of town (which most are based around the river) and we would walk off the boat. While this may have been the case in some instances it wasn't the case in most. Many times we needed to take a bus to visit the main sites. Also, due to ...

The cruise was Viking's Grand European Cruise. It started in Budapest and ended in Amsterdam. We went all through Germany. We spend a few days before and after the cruise in those port cities on our own. The ship was commission within the year. We stayed in a cabin with a French Baloney, which was lovely; my husband and I travelled by ourselves Food was outstanding. Many nights the ...

What a great way to start your cruising experience

We'd been thinking about a river cruise for some time. We liked the idea of a small intimate ship, and that your room travels with you as you sail on the Danube to visit Budapest, Bratislava, VIenna, Melk, Passau. We booked the Danube Waltz cruise entirely through Viking including air and transfers. The whole trip exceeded our expectations. The A380 from Wash DC to London was an engineering ...
