Durnstein. Delightful Village that was an alternative port of call. Spent a lovely afternoon and even attended a craft fair where my daughter got some hand dyed yarn! Also had a delicious pint and some wild mushroom soup!

Beautiful Christmas experience
"Absolutely loved Prague, will definitely try to go again and spend more time. When you book your excursions, they say you will go to the Christmas Markets but usually we had very limited time, less than an hour...."Read More

Review for a Europe - River Cruise Cruise on Viking Ingvi

Had never visited the interior of Europe. Viking provides an excellent way to see the wonderful landscape and scenic splendor. The Danube river winds through much of Europes rich history. The bridges that cross it, starting in Budapest, are magnificent. It is hard to imagine that these cities were treasured prizes of so many conquerers. The cruise ended in Passau which is a charming town that ...

We chose this cruise mainly for the Christmas atmosphere, the interesting and unfamiliar locations, and the Christmas Markets. The weather was a bigger influence than we planned on. We weren't expecting so much ice and snow and such cold temperatures. The tours were mostly good and the scenery was amazing. I wish we could have had more time in the markets. When you book your excursions, they ...

We arrived in Budapest 2 days early. Fanni and Andrea were wonderful. Great concierge service. Gave us great ideas and directions. Agnes took us on the Taste of Budapest tour. She was a wonderful guide. Carmen in Melk was also a terrific guide, wonderful sense of humor. On our post extension tour to Salzburg and Munich, Fred was so knowledgeable and was an outstanding guide. It was also ...

We chose this cruise upon the recommendation of several friends that have previously cruise Viking. I will list the pros and cons for our 15 day journey below: Pros: 1. We were very pleased with the personal service provided by our Cruise Director, Rob and our Concierge, Tamara. 2. Most of the remaining Ingvi staff were friendly, hard working and appeared to really enjoy their day to day ...

We enjoyed the cruise immensely. There was one major thing that we should have payed more attention to. First we had a great time in Budapest , our embarkation point; however, we spent maybe a couple of hours in Amsterdam, our destination port (at the airport). To do over we would have stayed a day or two in Amsterdam (and not part of the extended tour). The cruise itself was great. Good ...

We started our cruise with 3 days in Prague, organized by Viking. They had a desk manned 12-13hrs a day at the wonderful hotel they booked us into. They were very helpful getting our British Airways lost luggage back to us. We had a newer, clean bus to take us from Prague to Budapest, where the river cruise started. The Viking cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam was fantastic. The ships were ...

Booked this cruise 1 1/2 yrs before taking it. We did a pre-cruise 3 days in Prague thru Viking and it was wonderful. Fantastic Viking staff right in the hotel where we stayed - Hilton Prague. The hotel was within walking distance of the old town (a must see) and was great. The transfer to Budapest from Prague was well organized and was on new Viking bus. We sailed first on the Viking ...

Most enjoyable cruise, but was left behind in Buda.

This is our 2nd cruise with Viking. Our 1st cruise was in Russia in July 2014, which we loved immensely. No wonder, we booked our 2nd trip with Viking. We loved the itinerary, the land excursions, the food, the hospitality. Howver, there were certain pitfalls: in our 2nd day in Buda, we were horrified to return to our meeting point to see the bus was leaving. Our local guide did not do a head ...
