I traveled with a friend who had been on a Viking River Cruise last year. The service from the friendly crew was excellent . The chef went out of his way to make every meal the best. The program director Marek Snelly went out of his way to keep us informed and entertained along with the concierge. The reception desk very helpful. The captain kept the ship smooth sailing thru the locks ...

My husband chose this cruise as a gift to me. I was pleasantly surprised with the accommodations on the boat. He had booked a stateroom with a separate sitting room. I was able to sleep in, while he could get up and not disturb me by closing the door between rooms. The included tours were very good. The guides were informative and pleasant. We did purchase two additional tours during the ...

We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary and my husband's birthday on this cruise. We extended our trip with the pre cruise in Budapest which was a wonderful experience. We also extended with the post cruise in Amsterdam and Belgium. The whole trip was very enjoyable. Viking had every detail covered including a ship swap because of very high waters on the rivers. The swap was effortless on the ...

When I retired from teaching after 40 years of service, I wanted to celebrate my new life with a European river cruise. We chose the Grand European Tour for 2 reasons. The first reason was that it was highly recommended by friends and family and the second reason was that a close friend had already booked on this particular cruise. As my husband is an amputee, it seemed like a good idea to travel ...

I selected the Viking Grand European River Cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam. I was attracted to this cruise because everything was included in the price and the route takes you through most of the big name cities and attractions of Europe. After experiencing the cruise I could not be more pleased. The service that the crew and staff of the Viking Baldur provided was outstanding. The level of ...

A warm and friendly Christmas Market trip

Our cruise was the Christmas Market Cruise on the Danube from Budapest to Nuremberg in late December 2015. The boat was a Viking Baldur, not the Njord as originally scheduled because the Njord had some sort of mechanical problem. But the Baldur was delightful, made more so by our occupancy of one of the two owners' cabins on the stern. The food was terrific and the service was superb. The ...

After having taken several ocean cruises, we took our first river cruise in November2015. We went on this river cruise to see the Christmas markets in Eorope. We very much enjoyed seeing all the markets along the way and The small towns on our river cruise. The people were wonderful and the sites all very interesting. The crew on our ship were all very friendly and extremely helpful in ...

Viking definitely provides a 5-star experience! This was my first Viking adventure and I will surely go on another. We traveled aboard the Viking Baldur which was very nice and clean, rooms were well appointed and provided everything needed. The only time I spent in my stateroom was to sleep, I don't cruise to sit in my room!!!! The water level was low in Budapest so we could not board our ...

Three days before leaving we received an email stating the Baldur would not make it to Budapest in time for our departure due to low water levels. We were to meet the Viking Magni. Upon our early arrival at the airport, we were met by Viking representatives and transported by van to the Magni. We were warmly welcomed aboard, and were surprised to hear that they knew we had an early flight and that ...

One Cruise - Two Ships - Fantastic

We are cruise junkies but were looking for a very relaxed, small ship experience. The Viking team fulfilled all our expectations. We loved the way that we docked right in the center of each of the cities visited. Each evening, before dinner, all the passengers met in the lounge where the Cruise Director prepared us for the next day's port call and the Executive Chef talked about what he ...
