We love the mix of river travel shore time

Review for Viking Gullveig to Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

2-5 Cruises

This was our third Viking cruise and we've signed on for a fourth in 2018. We fine the balance between water travel and shore visiting much better than ocean cruises. We like the small ships and the congeniality on board at meals and in the evening. While we encountered low river depth on one of our previous cruises, Viking covered it gracefully and we never really noticed the issue. We did ...

This was our favourite cruise ever. We have sailed on numerous ocean cruises but this was our first River Cruise and we could not fault it. Staff, Excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Food, delicious and so much choice. Drinks, always available and very generously dispenced. No watering down of drinks on our cruise. The only thing you had to decide each day was the clothes that you wore, ...

From Bewitching Budapest to Beautiful Bucharest

We had taken the Romantic Danube Cruise in 2014 and thoroughly enjoyed it. An offer came in the mail about this particular cruise that included hotel time in Budapest and also in Bucharest with air. Budapest had captured our hearts in 2014, so we couldn't pass this one up. Budapest was as enchanting as before. The hotel, Sofitel, I believe, was wonderful. We had a beautiful view of the ...

This was our second Viking River Cruise. The first on the Aegir. We had a room downstairs that was below water level, which made me search out escape routes before we left port.2 ways out. We stopped in Belgrade and were showen bullet ridden buildings.Returning to the boat there was no security check and the gangway remained unmaned all night. There were a lot of Buffet meals. The cabin was tiny ...

Review for Viking Sky (River) to Europe - Western Mediterranean

Viking Sky. We booked directly with Viking. The staff were courteous and efficient and communication was good. After a hellish experience with Lufthansa, things went well from the airport to the ship. As expected, our cabin was smaller than one gets on an ocean cruiser, but was adequate. Water in the bathroom was inconsistent. On hot it sometimes ran cold, and on cold it was often ...

Romantic Danube river cruise

Review for Viking Europe to Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We booked this river cruise after much deliberation. We had been on several cruises, larger ships, and had been to Europe on our own several times. It was hard to find reviews on this type of cruise, so that made the decision harder. We decided on Viking and the Romantic Danube cruise they offer because it fit with our time constraints. We used frequent flyer miles to fly into Cologne Germany then ...

While my husband and I have sailed on many ocean cruises, this would be our first river cruise. Through our travel agent, we and another couple booked the cruise including air. We also added an extra four days in Salzburg, Austria at the end of the cruise, and let Uniworld arrange the whole package. This arrangement worked well and all of our flights, hotel and transfers met or exceeded our ...
