This was our first river cruise vacation and after this cruise it will not be our last. It was more than I expected. Everyone was friendly, helpful and cheerful. The food was spectacular but not wasteful, we were given just enough with a variety. Every day was different and exciting. The entertainment at night was entertaining and just enough time. Every day at 4:00 was coffee and desserts..which ...
I chose the 17 day cruise (7 countries and 5 capitals) because it gave me the opportunity to see countries I never imagined I would get to without having to takes trains and switch hotels. I did a pre trip to Prague and stayed at the Augustine which was lovely and highly recommend.
On the cruise Walter, Mateo and Valentin in the restaurant were great , fun and did a fabulous job. So did Ivana ...
My brother-in-law turned 60 September 25th so we chose this cruise on these dates so we could tie in Oktoberfest to the end of our cruise. Thought this was my husband's and my 3rd cruise, it was the first for my sister and brother -in-law. The cruise was perfect in every way! The service is 5 star! It just amazes me that the crew remembers not only your name but what you drink. Each evening, ...
We chose the River cruise because it only had 158 passengers and the flights were included and was much more affordable overall compared to the other River cruise lines.
On arrival at Budapest airport we were held up in immigration for an hour but the rep was waiting for us when we got through, we were the last to show up and everyone was waiting on the bus for us. It was a huge relief.
The ...
We had heard from several friends about how good this cruse is. So, we went in with high expectations. We have to say that Viking exceeded even those expectations. They covered the entire trip details from start to finish. Our flight from Washington D.C. arrived in Frankfurt at 5:20 am local time. To our pleasant surprise, there were three Viking personnel waiting for us (about a dozen of us total ...
We chose this cruise because we had done the Rhine Getaway and wanted an extended time through Hungary and Austria. We did a pre-cruise in Budapest to recover from jet lag and enjoyed browsing Central Market and touring the Jewish Synagogue. We did several included excursions on our cruise and three optional excursions…the best one was the barge tour in Kinderdyjk, Amsterdam to visit a working ...
we loved the whole experience with the cruise. the service and amenities were delightful. staff were outstanding and kind. the program director seemed to be everywhere at once — on tours, giving lectures, he was amazing!
the food on board was excellent and one had many choices at each meal. we recommend the silver beverage pkg for the most wonderful wine options.
interestingly enough, the ...
The Danube River and up through the Rhine River have always been appealing. The scenery was just like the picture books and advertisements. The Activities Director would fill us in on what to expect the next day. He covered everything from what to wear, what not to wear, where to get money exchanged and where to get a cold beer. The chef would come in after the update and let us know the ...
We chose this cruise as it would take us to places we have not been too, or places we would have never gone too. The scenery from the ship was mostly farmland and forest, but once on land there were many wonderful things to see. Food was very good, and the portions were smaller so you never left the table stuffed.
The wait staff was excellent.
My only concern was by day 4 people were ...
We chose a grand European tour so we could see many sites on one trip. We chose Viking because of their high ratings, and we were not disappointed. The ship was nicely laid out with opportunities for indoor or outdoor relaxing. The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. The food was delicious, and we appreciated the serving sizes- so much more appropriate than American restaurants. We did ...
