I always wanted to sail the Danube and my husband and Avalon made this dream come true. It was a beautiful trip and we we so lucky to be sailing with Avalon. The ship was beautiful and beautifully run. The staff were attentive and helpful and the talk’s informative. The food was outstanding.

We booked the top level cat 7 because we wanted it to be special even though it was expensive, almost twice as much as the lower levels. The water was low on the river and caused the cruise to turn into a BUS trip. Tauck did a terrible job of handling this. We chose Avalon 3 years ago, right before Covid started and originally were going to cruise the Rhine. Re-booked for 2022, we both got Covid a week before the cruise and could not go. We booked this river cruise one month out for October. Not sure we would even be able to get a room. Our travel agent (Affordable Tours) found us one on the Avalon line.
