This was our third cruise on Britannia and we chose this itinerary as there were several ports which were new to us. We really like this ship - it has a pleasing, muted decor throughout, and despite its size, is relatively easy to find your way around.
I have to say that embarkation has improved a lot since our first time, but it's nowhere near the efficiency of Celebrity. Once on board, ...
We last went to the Canary Islands in 2008 so we thought a return visit was long overdue.
This was our 2nd trip on Britannia as we had already been to the Caribbean on a fly cruise in November 2017 and was our 11th cruise with P&O.
This time we boarded Britannia on Sunday 8th April 2018 on a two week cruise to the Canary Islands. We stayed overnight at our preferred hotel, New Place Hotel , ...
We chose this cruise as a way to see a new part of the world and to enjoy a much anticipated ship. We had read some negative comments on here prior to booking but having met some of the kind of people who moan about beaches being 'sandy' before, we weren't deterred ;)
The food was nothing short of excellent in all venues and the service was faultless. The cabin was an ideal size and the balcony ...
Two weeks on the transatlantic, repositioning, cruise gave us 8 beautifully restful sea days with very calm seas throughout. P&O run an extraordinarily smooth operation in every department whether it is embarkation, entertainment or restaurants. Without exception, all of the stewards, waiters, reception, croupiers et al were efficient, friendly and often went out of their way to go the extra mile. ...
We have absolutely loved the ship, some may dislike the absence of the mid ship staircase but it did not worry us at all. Very new modern surroundings and luxury furnishings.
Excellent food
Egg Benedict was always cold (tried 6 times) and once hard boiled
Lobster twice and nice
Fish and curry very good
Entertainment was not at all our taste, which is the shame, only 2 acts were good ...
I chose the cruise because the ship has single balcony cabins and was sailing from the UK to the Med. I thought it would be very large, but it didn't seem so big once on board. The entertainment was super, except sometimes the theatre was full, you had to get there early for the 8.30 show. Sometimes the food in the main three restaurants could have been better, but the speciality restaurants ...
We pick The Britannia as she a newest ship in the fleet, we were on venture last year so pick other in their fleet. We read other comments about this ship from the guest who have been on her so was not sure if we were doing the right thing, but they say everyone as their own taste and we found the Britannia to be a lovely and friendly ship, yes she as her faults but don't all ships.
There is no ...
We decided to set sail on brittania once again..we were so excited... it was my hubbys 50th birthday, our anniversary,my in laws anniversary who were sailing with us and my mum whose 74 first ever cruise... we embarked at southampton which we ad never done before as we ad flown to destination before. Embarkation was so well organised.then on to our cabins on deck 11 ,in laws next door to us on ...
We chose this cruise because it was the closest departure date we wanted to our silver wedding anniversary . We had never been on a cruise before.
Can i say this was the best decision ever as our holiday was amazing i suffer with coeliac disease and was worried about the food but i had nothing to worry about i ordered my food in advance and it got serveved when we went to lunch and ...
We have cruised with P&O before and prefer the larger ships because of the different places to eat and the range of facilities. We also have to go in school holidays although no children with us just a small group of family and friends. We chose Britannia as it was a new ship for us an although have previously done the Med we liked the sound of the itinerary. Having read quite a number of reviews ...
