This Australian vacation was planned as a break from the gloomy winter in Olympia WA in the USA. We began our cruise in Brisbane Australia headed for a couple small islands in the South Pacific. First two days at sea;
This ship is showing its age. It feels very closed in compared with newer ships. The food selection and quality is below par. The servers are friendly and welcoming. I have ...
We have cruised other Carnival ships, but nothing as bad as this. Toilet stopped working for several days. Public areas smelled of sewerage. My GoPro was stolen, and when I reported it security stripped our room (mind you this was around midnight as well). My wife broke her finger on a shore excursion, and we caught both COVID and Influenza A. Our last meal in cabin isolation was a single piece ...
1. bathtub is mouldy, toilet smells like dirty public toilet. Made compliants but no improvement.
2. Everything on the ship aren’t being maintained and very dated, e.g. Pantry water tab (to wash hands) not working, not just one of them but every single one.
3. Staff need a lot more training, the worst customer service I have ever experienced on a cruise ship. E.g. in the Pantry, one of the ...
Will never travel on Carnival Luminosa again. Breach of privacy when we found evidence on our GoPro of a staff member going through our personal items taking a video of themselves. MAJOR BREACH OF PRIVACY!!
The staff at the sunset bar were extremely rude and weren’t happy when having to remake a drink that made wrong initially. The boat is old in the inside. Pools are small.
In the dining ...
Food was over cooked same thing every time and just got spicier as it went on. Over crowded by 1500. Most of the crew had covid and walked around without masks by the most guest had it and the way you get treated by them after telling them so dont tell them you caught covid! Don't have enough staff in upstairs restaurants and way too many in the lower deck in the upper you were a lucky one if you ...
This was the first time we did a cruise with Royal Caribbean having previously been on Princess, P&O and MSC. This was our least favourite by far and the experience on RC Quantum of the Seas fell well short. So many things to mention but the first and most important was the itinerary change. I understand weather may mean that certain destinations may not be possible, but to find out at the port ...
Well not sure where to begin, planned this holiday for my family in fact 16 of us which was a total of 6 cabins. We were all excited to go even though we had read some not great reviews. I decided to still go ahead ( worst decision) The food buffet was the worst i had ever experienced (been on many cruises now). The evening meal wasn’t to bad at all after the first night we had to complain as ...
Too many people on a ship that could not handle it. 7 hours waiting to get on/off the ship at Norfolk island (three hour wait on board after getting a tender ticket, then 30 minutes to get on the tender and across ~ then 3 hours lined up first at the bus depot and then at the quay to get back on. Left 90 minutes to explore Norfolk Island. Pantry was always crowded and we could rarely get a ...
Pacific Encounter was reasonably maintained for public areas, but cabins are in a desperate need of a refurbishment. Our cabin had smelly, dirty, and old carpets, outside balcony was a mess with paint flakes everywhere and old rusty furniture. Some bedside drawers wouldn't open properly, and toilet flush stopped working on three occasions.
Entertainment was quite limited with too much emphasis ...
the staff were incompetant - in the dining room you had to ask for a spoon to eat your morning fruit. They did not change to menu in the dining room except for a couple of dishes ever few days.
Were given incorrect information at the Customer Service Desk. Staff did not know their product.
When you dressed for a formal night - you were placed at a table with a person dressed in thongs, ...
